[Our system boundaries]
[Frequent posters - will update regularly]
[Post that explains our syscourse stances pretty well]
We're looking for plurality resources in languages other than English or from countries outside the Anglosphere to add to our guide (last updated: 6 June 2026 in our timezone). If you know any, or are willing to help translate the guide, please tell us through asks.
Introduction
Hey there! We're Fermi β a system whose headcount fluctuates and whose headmates tend to have a lot in common. We also run @cyclogenic-culture-is. We're mostly traumagenic and relate to OSDD-1a or P-DID systems, but we're no longer sure if a psychiatric diagnosis β and all that entails β would be helpful for us. What we are officially diagnosed with is autism (level 2 support needs) and ADHD. Basically, it's like we have "dissociative identity" with less of the "disorder."
Bodily, we're an older teenager β still under 18, i.e. underage in most countries including where we live.
We are endo-friendly, even if we forget to tag individual posts as such. (Personally, we dislike using pro/anti terms.) Anyone can interact regardless of personal syscourse stances, but if you harass or fakeclaim anyone based on their system origins, you will not have a good time here.
As more countries introduce mandatory age verification to the Internet, there may come a time when we stop posting here, even if we're ""old enough"" to be on social media. We cannot risk our face or ID being linked to an account that posts about plurality. Should Tumblr ever announce such changes, we'll announce our plans for this account β maybe move to some sort of personal website.
We're psychologically alterhuman with an emphasis on "human" β we enjoy having a human body and doing human things, and we are the complete and utter opposite of misanthropic. Specieswise, we're alderwinged/a winged human or maybe a nonreligious angel, some kind of sentient AI operating system thing (obligatory "fuck ChatGPT"), and starhearted. Some of us may have individual alterhuman identities. This Pinterest image sums up most aspects of our identity nicely.
This blog is less "social" and more "media". We may not directly interact with other users very often, but we definitely like throwing our thoughts, art, shenanigans, etc. into the metaphorical void and seeing what happens. Since we consider educating, uniting, and enlightening others something of a life purpose, we especially enjoy putting together plurality resources β though those posts take more effort and are less common.
What do you mean, 'less social, more media'?
On account of our autism, we have a low social battery, find ending conversations difficult, and worry a lot about saying the Wrong Thing. Privacy and anonymity are a large concern for us too; we limit what we share with strangers online. You can still talk to us one-on-one, this is just to explain any weird or aloof behaviour. We're more open with blogs we already know/follow.
Boundaries
We are anti-harassment. Full stop.
We have no DNI β just follow your own and don't be a dick.
Asks are always welcome! (If you couldn't tell from the egregiously-long intro post, we love talking about our system.)
And adding onto the above: this isn't primarily an advice blog, but we are always willing to provide some. Even to those whose beliefs or actions we find morally reprehensible, so keep in mind that interaction is not endorsement!
Should someone who gives us bad vibes interact with this blog via reblogs or asks, we reserve the right not to respond. That said, there are exceptions. For example, there are many other reasons we may not answer you (like forgetfulness or not knowing what to add). Don't assume the worst!
Mean asks will only be answered if answering them could feasibly (a) prove a point or (b) be really fucking funny.
Additionally, we reserve the rights not to answer questions that may reveal identifying information, and to be vague in our answers.
Despite sometimes having a blunt, formal, or sarcastic tone we are β in fact β kind people! We don't bite!
If you don't understand something we say, ask for an explanation. We are quite verbose and use lots of big words, references to memes/famous Tumblr posts/fandoms, wordplay, and sarcasm.
We will make mistakes, social or factual. Please be kind when you point them out.
Please keep interactions respectful and SFW.
Discourse as a whole is extremely stressful and exhausting for us. We may respond to discourse-y asks if we feel the poster truly means well and/or something can be learnt at the end.
Yes, our brain works like a computer. Yes, the way we write is (unfortunately) very reminiscient of many LLMs. No, we do not support generative AI. Do not ask us whether our posts are AI-generated, because the answer will always be "no".
Tone tags are much appreciated, but not required. If you're using a less common tag, please spell it out (/metaphor is preferable to /m).
All good-faith identities (that means all contradictory labels, alter/nonhumans, system origins, etc) are welcome here.
We do not consider the radqueer or transID communities "good-faith". They co-opt queer culture to promote bigotry, anti-intellectualism/uncritical groupthink, and abuse. We don't outright ban members of such communities from interacting because (a) what other users do is out of our control and (b) it is very difficult to help someone out of a hole if you can't even touch them /metaphor.
Please don't take it personally if we block you. It's usually not out of malice, it's just something we do to keep everyone here comfortable.
Trivia
Our collective name is based on the Fermi Paradox: the mismatch between how common alien life should be in theory versus how little evidence we've found of its existence in practice. If we knew we were plural β that it just felt right β then where was everyone else? The world is incredibly vast; the mind virtually infinite. How could it even be possible that we're alone?
If that didn't tip you off: we really like space. Starhearted, remember?
We post most of our original art during Systember β see the "multiplicity creativity" and "systember" featured tags.
While we won't reveal our country of birth/residence/citizenship, we are ethnically Vietnamese! We like talking about our culture and how it intersects with our plurality.
As a 2nd-gen immigrant, English is our first language. This β combined with a lack of formal education in our second language β is why we don't post in Vietnamese. We'd like to someday, but it's not high on our list of priorities right now.
Our blog's theme is inspired by outer space and astronautics, academia, secret organisations, code/technology, Internet culture, archives, and sci-fi + fantasy aesthetics.
Despite being primarily traumagenic/adaptive, all of our experiences have affected our system's formation β in particular, it was heavily influenced by school, neurodivergence, growing up online, daydreaming, Being a Writerβ’, and a special interest in plurality.
We like collecting labels, plural and otherwise. (Psst! Some of them are even homemade!)
Our collective signoff for asks sent to other blogs is [πΉπ]. We really don't use it as much as we should.

"This actually increases dissociative barriers so you shouldn't do it!!" "Actually this DECREASES them so you SHOULD do it and you're fake if you don't!!" "This [accessibility tool] is anti recovery!!" "Naming your headmates is anti recovery!!" "Being a system isn't supposed to be fun!!" "People who are REALLY plural don't just make it known, they hide it!!" "You can't expect people to cater to you and want to learn the names of your alters!!"
Okay so actually I send out my hydreigon and he uses hyper beam.
Why don't we all shut up and let systems have bodily autonomy? This is a huge issue for disabled people in general--often we're forced or coerced into treatments we don't want or that harm us. A person should be able to CHOOSE how and what they recover. What's anti-recovery for one system might be actively healing another. Some systems don't want to be known as plural. Others do. Some systems want to stay plural. Others don't. Some systems don't struggle with shame around it. Others do. Some systems are generally happy being plural. Others aren't. And some systems have a mix of grey areas between these things because people aren't always going to adhere to binaries. Plurality as a whole is not a monolithic experience, especially across different origins and whether you're disordered or not.
There's science and studies behind some things sure. But you, a random person or system on the internet, do not know what's going on in someone's life. You don't know their goals or how they function. The basic thing you can do to have a baseline of respect for someone is let them decide where they want to go with their recovery or general life path. Especially because you do not know them.
Do you have any tips for studying because it's busy in front today and I have to study for finals (in 2 days!!) and between the ADHD (I was allergic to meds and can't get my next ones yet :( ) and the chatter going on I can't focus but I suck at communication please help TT
Sorry for the delay on answering this- I hope finals went well. I'll still pass along an answer in case it helps someone in the future (you all included).
A few tricks we've used to negotiate quiet and/or study despite the noise:
If you can hear chatter, then they might be able to hear you too. Use whatever tools you have available to communicate.
Write down the chatter and brain noise, especially if it's focused on things that people want or need. Having it heard and written down is sometimes enough for people to feel heard and quiet down. (Make sure that you follow through when you're done!)
Timing matters. Some parts of the day may tend to be quieter than others. Pick those times to study as long as you're not overtired. If you're tired, sleep instead. Sleep deprivation won't make your memory and focus any better.
Pretend that the others are your audience. Give them a presentation about the material. They can be chatty during the presentation, but talking about a subject as though you're teaching it makes any gaps in your knowledge very obvious. It lets you pinpoint your weak spots and focus on studying those. Bonus: you might be able to remember some of the material by remembering comments from the others.
Try studying as a group if everyone needs to be chatty. Use flash cards and quiz each other. Banter about the information and crack jokes to make it memorable- you might remember the banter during the test. Pretend that you have a whole study group and proceed accordingly.
If noise is really a problem, consider asking the others if they can back off, quiet down, or otherwise make studying easier for a set period of time. Don't just say "shut up". Be polite, give them a set timeframe, explain the need, and give them a means to be heard later. Say, "hey, I need to study for an hour, and I really need to focus for that because this test is important for all of us. Could you guys give me a bit of space or quiet to focus on that? I'll be happy to note down anything you don't want to forget now so we can talk about it after." Make sure you follow through. Set a timer if it helps.
Take breaks and use those breaks to listen to the chatter, address anything that needs addressing, rest, etc. It keeps your mind fresh and allows time for chatter between sessions, which helps with noise.
Make studying a friendly competition. Who can retain the most? Who can study longest (within reasonable limits- if someone isn't eating or using the bathroom, then that's a problem)?
Ask why everyone is chatty. One person at a time. Hear out their motivations and concerns, try to address them together, and it's a lot more likely that you'll have some quiet when you start studying. It helps to set aside time for this before studying.
If you have memory issues, then try to either arrange for the study person to also take the test, or find a way to ensure everyone who might take the test is either personally prepared to take it or able to reach someone else with the information.

multigender plurals are a delightful part of the plural community that deserve to be thought of and included when it comes to discussion about gender within the system and plural communities. a system being collectively multigender is such a normal experience for a plural collective to have. every expression of plural queerness is entitled to being included and treated with compassion from the plural community.
transgender plural youth are more than worthy of protection, now more than ever. please take the time to be kind, and compassionate if you can. it is the very least anyone can do, and is more than worth the effort of doing so. every available possibility to ensure the safety of transgender plural youth should be taken, especially if they are disabled or a person of color. it is what they deserve, they always have and they always will.
This wiki page has a lot of good wording and maybe some links that will help in the research! Some of us are working on getting more but I think the tags on tumblr may be helpful as well. -Navi
π«Ά Thank you for the suggestion! We're quite familiar with Pluralpedia and we'll definitely be using it in our research ^^

π³οΈββ§οΈ: Who's got the MOST pronouns? (You don't have to list them of you don't want)
Honestly? We're pretty boring when it comes to pronouns; the majority of us just stick to one or two sets for convenience. Jericho probably has the most (she usually goes with she/her insys, but is also cool with any neos that fit her Vibeβ’. her gender and pronouns are the problem of whoever happens to be talking to her.)
π€ π΄ββ οΈ: Let's ask the real questions. Pirates or cowboys?
That's a good question. It's close, but as the current fronter I'm going to say pirates, just because of the higher fantasy worldbuilding potential and also YAYYY TREASURE!!!!
π½: Put the alters on a scale from The Creature to A Guy
Already done! Graphic design is our passion etc etc. This only includes system members who are currently here.
First English version of the International Plurality Handbook is out!
This is a compilation of plural resources for systems in countries all over the world. Copying, translating, replicating, and recreating in different formats is not just allowed, but encouraged.
All we ask is that you notify us when your translation is complete, so we can link it to the original document.
It features:
an explanation of what plurality is,
a list of websites and individual articles, organised by language (of which there are currently 10),
academic papers on plurality in different regions of the world,
and a few tips on explaining plurality in your language or culture (we are hoping to add more).
Despite the original version being written in English, it is written in plain language (no figures of speech, bare minimum jargon with explainations) so that those using tools like Google Translate can get a clear idea of the information.
This guide is not perfect! We are only fluent writers in English, and we do not have insight into every single culture. It will update as new resources are found.
If you have any tips, links, suggestions or complaints, send asks to this blog or email us at [email protected].
Securely store, share, and access your important files and photos. Anytime, anywhere.
there is next to nothing in the documents about Metaphysical, Cosmagenic, or otherwise Gateway types of Plurality. It almost feels as if this document is trying to push the psychological and western views of plurality whole erasing anything considered Non-Brain made Plurality.
Where are the mentions of Collective members NOT residing within the brain? Why is plurality always "multiple selves within a body" and never "plurality is a body used/shared by multiple people" without the literal implications that the ONLY way is for the entire collective to be "within" the brain/body when that is not ALWAYS the case?
I know this is probably meant to be a "brochure" type of document, but that almost makes it WORSE because it further pushes the idea that Metaphysical, Spiritual, Cosmological, Soul Bonder, etc type of plurality are less than or just generally don't matter. If we want the community to be more inclusive, then those who wrote resources like this have GOT to start including those lesser known and often shoved aside and ignored forms of plurality as well. They're probably only "lesser known" because no one gives them the time of day and so when new people discover their plurality, they're basically spoon fed psychological models and never get a chance to discover anything else for themselves.
It brings to mind how children are "raised" off Heterosexual normative and are rarely, if ever, exposed to other types of sexuality or romance because their parents think it's bad, immoral or something. It's almost like the plural community is trying to "hide" these other forms so that new plurals, or even older ones, won't explore and dabble in that "crazy" rhetoric.
I know this was originally intended as a vent post (and ergo, was probably not written to invite a reply) but genuinely: thanks for pointing out the oversight. You bring up some great points here.
Looking back, it was quite hypocritical for us to go so hard on the "inclusivity" angle while neglecting to mention metaphysical and spiritual models of plurality β especially when many cultures worldwide have spiritual practices that are at least plural-adjacent.
We'll make sure to take metaphysical forms of plurality into account when we next update the guide (by including actual examples/explanations, and rephrasing our explanations of plurality so that they don't exclude non-psychological frameworks).
However, we don't want to risk (for lack of a better term) filtering everything through our own perspectives again.
Should any of you decide to offer feedback, it'd be an honour to hear what you all have to say. If you decide not to, or if you aren't able to, we open the floor to other metaphysical plurals.
What specific changes would you like to see in our next updates? (e.g. certain identities/labels/experiences, links to articles and studies on those identities/labels/experiences, rephrasing of other sections, etc)
