i think you are confusing his silence for his self-preservation; when in fact his silence is plain cowardice. it is easy to speak up, take a stand, when the environment is already conducive for it.

But in this day and age, dissent is only being shown by people who are actually brave (like Mark, Javier Bardem, Billie Ellish, Bad Bunny and so many) They are doing the work within their spaces and actually using the platform for good. And there are so many. It is not like he would be at complete loss standing alone in this fight (not like he would ever) .
