Sediment Size Guide for Plurals
By the Quicksilver Cycle
Warning! Do not check rebloggs! Someone has reblogged this post with gore!
We realized there doesn't seem to be a lot of info for sediment fragments in modular systems or similar forms of plurality, and wanted to make our own personal guide.
Remember, these are just examples, if you or your fragments and sediments feel that fit more into a higher or lower clarification than what's described here, then use that label!
If you visit pluralpedia, you may notice sediments are mentioned as being classified by something similar to the Wentworth scale, which is what we tried to use for inspiration here.
Without further ado, the Sediment fragments size guide according to us!
Sizes:
Clay - One or two symptoms, often of an emotion.
For example: The ability to cry/smile, laughter, tiredness.
Silt - One trait, like, or dislike,
For example: cheery, shy, likes green, dislikes apples, he/him pronouns.
Sand - Full emotions, more complex likes and dislikes, or 2-3 simple traits, very simple roles, a gender. May include simple traumas or responses without context.
For example: dislikes fruit, sensitive to loud nose, likes green and red but dislikes purple, scared of heights, flinches when approached, sleep role, demigirl gender, long hair.
Pebble - Multiple emotions, nuanced opinions, several possibly unrelated traits, system roles, a kintype.
For example: catkin, alienkin, all/most negative emotions, funny and a pacifist, a disapproval for poor diet with an understanding of how ready it is to fall into one, shower role.
Cobble - A personality or the majority of one without abilities, a fully fleshed out appearance, an identity, or a particularly complicated role.
For example: A gatekeeper(often front and memory management), feeling like a Bisexual man, the average height one one with the short pink hair who always wears green hairpins and a gothic style, a teifling who *hates* dragons.
Boulder - A person(-ality) with somewhat limited range, either emotionally, mentally, habitually, or in ability to front. Often similar in size to a non-sediment fragment.
For example: Charles the anger fragment, Mindy who can't front without working together with another boulder fragment, Jeremy who only does dishes and sometimes scrubs the counter, the unnamed headmate who can never seem to hold front on their own.

Are your flareframes temporary?
No - permanent

Calling all modular systems and plurals! We realized that our flareframes might be temporary in addition to the temporary nature of flares, and wanted to know if anyone else is in the same boat. Links to definitions below if you need em :3 (plus urls in case tumblr eats the embed)

A flareframe can be conceptualized as a 'pattern' of similar flares, seen in modular systems. It can be seen as a picture frame that has its
Modularplural culture is going woah- y'all (let us know how you all would like to be referred to if this is not okay) have a similarish sort of experience as us and we have never seen anyone else like us! We have selves who are full/well rounded, fragments who are less so and then what we refer to as shards or jokingly (with permission), lego people, who manage to be even less defined. We have these lego folks who build up to be "static images" who often act as like temporary messengers in our system, both for us more rounded selves and for the outside world. They can't front if they are just 1 shard (they need more shards working with them) but fragments and the fuller selves can. It's pretty cool to be seeing more modular-based systems pop up with their experiences! Hope y'all have a good day!
good to receive this!
the more we think on the term 'modular' the more we realize we have had modular shards for MUCH longer than we've had the subsystem that started this blog, so it seems our experiences are a bit more similar than perhaps y'all intended
Cyclogenic+modular system culture is: what is an identity? Who knows 🤷
