Meet @the.bariatric.foodie My mission is to show that even weight loss surgery you can still enjoy life and food just with lesser quantities and healthier options too. 2 yrs ago I was at my highest weight ever, 510lbs. I was hardly able to walk long distances, had to sleep sitting up, I had only 3 shirts that fit me & 1 pair of "jeans" and shorts. I was falling asleep while at work or at home and one time while at a red light. One morning I woke up and couldn't move my arms and wasnt able to breath so I went to the hospital and found out I was retaining 80% carbon dioxide and needed a bi-pap machine for 4 days to breath. I made the decision I needed to make a change and joined a popular meal replacement diet fad and it took me almost a year just to lose 11 pounds. I made the decision to consult a bariatric surgeon to consider my options. He recommended I have Gastric Bypass so after a 4mo waiting period I had my surgery on 7/26/18. After surgery I thought I ruined my life. I was sick for quite some time and thought I would never eat normal food again (something I found out a lot of bariatric patients experience this food mourning). After a short period of healing I was back to normal and losing weight rapidly by making better food choices and Hitting the gym regularly (after losing the weight I was finally able to be active). April of 2019 I am 9mo post-OP and have lost 258 pounds so far and will continue until 12-18 months post-op. I am loving every bit of life now and love the messages I get about how I helped someone make the choice to move forward and that life doesnt end after surgery. Meet @therealslimschumie I’m Chelsea. I’m 29 from Dallas, and I’ve lost 165lbs. Before even considering having wls I got a trainer and got my eating habits inline, but still the scale wouldn’t move for me. I remember vividly sitting in my ob/gyn’s office getting the news that It would be hard for me to carry a child of my own. I was diagnosed with PCOS, and that day I felt like my life as I knew it was over. Over the years My weight had escalated up to almost 400 lbs. The next day I already had a consultation scheduled to meet with my bariatric surgeon. I didn’t want the pressure of having that diagnosis to determine my life. I knew it was time for a change, I just didn’t know how drastic it would be for me. I had vsg in Dec of 2017. Since then I’ve lost 165 lbs. I’ve successfully continued to see my trainer and keep my eating habits in line. Although there are days that are difficult, because I actually handle my feelings now.. I have never been happier and more full of Joy. Meet @Will_is_all_i_am I started my journey at a weight of 337lbs. My story came to life finding out we were having our 2nd little boy! I knew something had to change and man has life changed! Since this journey began I’ve grown into a much better father! I’m no longer the dad sitting on the side not able to keep up with my kids! It truly is amazing the things you can do when given the right opportunity. I chose VSG on a recommendation from and coworker. He had great success and I knew this was the path for me! It’s not everyday you receive a second chance at life and I’ve made a promise to myself as well as my family that I will do everything in my power to live the healthiest life I can for them. If that means countless hours days/nights in the gym and preparing food than so be it. This is my life and at 32 years old I’m living it to the fullest! Meet: @ethanstill95 I began my weight loss journey at 476 lbs in July ‘16! I smoked 2 packs of cigs, dipped snuff, & drank a 30 pack of beer daily. I had even reached the point of debating whether or not to end my life. I knew that this was not the life I wanted to live, & that a change had to be made. I began working out & meeting for consultation with a bariatric surgeon & nutritionist. Over the first 10 months, I lost my 1st 100 lbs. This milestone happened the day of my VSG. After surgery I began working out as soon as I was medically cleared to do so, & became addicted to the process of bettering myself; both mentally & physically. Over the last 3 years, I’ve lost 241 lbs., and am set to step on stage at my 1st ever bodybuilding/physique show June 29th! Meet: @lezettechristinemua I'm 161lbs down so far but I've gained so much more! I am 19 months post VSG SW348 CW187 Still fighting and losing. I struggled with rejection, multiple forms of abuse, neglect and ultimately not loving myself. 12/11/17 I decided to fight back. I struggled with rejection, multiple forms of abuse, neglect and ultimately not loving myself. I was bedridden for years, suffered 2 Pulmonary embolisms. I didn't develop a relationship with my children, husband, friends and family so that it would be easier for them when I passed. I was barely living, like a coma but being alert and not able to do anything. I put up a wall so no one would get too close to get hurt. I made the hardest decision of my life, I decided that I was worth it and it was time to risk it all. I decided I would no longer allow satan to destroy my life. The difference between these pics goes way beyond physical, I have lost 161 lbs so far but what we have gained can't be measured. My desire to inspire others to be the best version of themselves & be the mom my kids deserve. Last and not least God,Jehovah, my provider. I've faced criticism by people closest to me but I chose me, I was worth it, My hope is to inspire and help others I want to lead by example.
