Ingredients: 400g lean pork mince. 1 apple, grated. 1 onion, finely chopped. 2 garlic cloves, minced. 1 tsp dried sage. Salt and pepper to taste. 4 wholemeal burger buns. Lettuce leaves, for topping. Sliced tomatoes, for topping. Sliced red onion, for topping.
Instructions: In a large mixing bowl, combine the lean pork mince, grated apple, chopped onion, minced garlic, dried sage, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the mince mixture. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a burger patty. Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat and spray with low-calorie cooking spray. Add the burger patties to the pan and cook for about 6-8 minutes on each side or until cooked through and nicely browned. Toast the wholemeal burger buns lightly. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a cooked pork and apple burger patty. Top each burger with sliced tomatoes and red onion. Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately.
