Can one be both hyperlexic AND dyslexic? Because I certainly have hyperlexia, I was a voracious and high level reader from an extremely early age. However, I can't spell for shit (thank god for autocorrect) unless I've thoroughly memorized the word's spelling, or it's very simple. I also have a tendency of randomly starting to write the second syllable of a word then back to the first syllable. So like I'd accidentally write people "plepeo".
So is this a Thing or am I Crazy?

i was hyperlexic as a kid and would have absolutely been accused of using ai to write school papers.
My (low-functioning autistic) brother can't hold a proper conversation. Unsurprisingly when he was a toddler he comprehended communication even less, giving what we would perceive as incomprehensible answers to simple questions. "do you want ice cream?" "D is for Drums!" This lead to one particular frustrated outburst from my father which I still quote some odd 15 years later. My brother didn't respond and my dad began almost shouting, in a raised monotone inflection; "YES?! NO?! MAYBE?! SO?! RED?! PINK?! BLUE?!?!" I don't even remember what the question was but I remember howling with laughter. Even as I type this I am giggling.
