ahh thank you for the kind words!

i do already have a post about what software/hardware i use, but nothing yet about my drawing process, so don’t worry about it :7

i use medibang paint pro and a wacom intuos draw for everything,, 

this is my medibang setup; i don’t use the reference tab very often but i tend to use a lot of layers for serious artwork and only two (one for lines and one for light colours/shades) for shitposting, so that’s why they’re merged

(i also don’t use palette unless i’m animating, in which case i’ll use firealpaca for the onion skin mode)

my default lineart brush is the medibang pencil brush, and i use a mix of the default watercolour and airbrush for colours/shades

for more serious artwork (like the epsilon gyrus tarot card) i use the lead pencil brush and an airbrush/watercolour/flat brush combo for painting:

most of my brushes are default ones that come with medibang, but if they aren’t they’ll usually be downloaded from the cloud function (like the flat and lead pencil brushes, my “light dapples” brush and the speed lines brush)

for shitposts, i usually wing the lineart with a pencil brush and that’s it

for more detailled work, i always start with a very loose sketch detailing the basic movements/ideas i want to convey, then lower the opacity and make a “proportions” sketch (this is where i grab all my references, not the initial concept) to get any perspective/proportions/warping i want to have looking Not Too Funky, and finally i lower the opacity on that one and make a last (finalized details, and cleaner) lineart with either pencil or lead pencil.

((fjdjfhigheg i say that like i only use one layer for the final lineart,,, i sometimes forget and only use one, but when i’m working on a more detailed part like hands or hair i try to use a separate layer so i can erase freely))

generally when i colour i just slap on something that looks vaguely like canon palettes and then lower the opacity of the colours layer to 30-something percent to hide any mistakes hshshshhh

though for more serious art, i use the wand tool to make a selection of the silhouette of the main figure, then fill it with a dark blue-gray (or whatever undertone i’m using) and then use clipping layers to paint over it slowly

my colouring process usually goes base colours - basic shadows with multiply - merge, blending - darker shadows with multiply again - highlights ,, then i use clipping to colour in the lineart (if i remember to) and merge the layers (excluding the background) before starting on the Cool Effects, which are a shitheap of:

super bright highlights with add - effects with add, multiply and hard light; usually with pattern brushes like light, fragment, etc., any foreground things filtered with gaussian blur ,, 

my effects are basically a mess of “is this enough add? it’s too much add. dammit” lmao

First pick a fake name, I use Jessica, then download the Google Voice app, hook it up to your email, pick a number, and set up a fake greeting with your fake name. You can set it to ring your actual phone like a normal call or text but they don’t have real info on you.

i just found myself using this random trick that one of my art professors taught me and i thought other people might like it!

other tips: -at rest, the elbow hits the bottom of the ribcage, and the wrist hits the bottom of the crotch -the distance from your inner elbow to your wrist is about the same length as your foot -the length of your hand (from wrist to the tip of your middle finger) is about the same length as the distance between the bottom of your chin and your hairline

so, if you have a feeling that proportions are wrong on something, those work as quick gauges. like, if a character’s forearm looks too long, try to visualize their foot being the same size and see if that works. if the hands look too big, look at their size in relation to the face.
