I think some people do miss it unless given an example or whatnot and I wanna show that colouring Asians that are pale are still different than colouring a white person.
Because the thing is, if your Asian character is an average Joe that does not have access to skincare (which the Asian beauty standards is a whole other issue with the rampant colorism problem), they are not gonna be pale white like Europeans.
A good thing to reference to see what "The Average Asian person" looks like is seeing CROWD SHOTS. Street photography! You'll see that even in East Asia, the skin tone is vastly different from a white person. Light tan is the average pale skin a lot of Asians generally have.
Parker Yang, most of all, who's a detective is not gonna have the same skin tone as a KPOP star who has access to whitening skincare products. Lmao
