"dont post hate in the tags" is an adage meant for like. meaningless griping about a piece of media you didn't like. it's not about protecting feelings, it's about maintaining the tags as a place for discussing that media among other people who are actually engaged with it. "don't post hate in the tags" is an INSANE response to serious critique of racism in a text, like do you people hear yourselves???
critiquing racism in a piece of media using a forum designed for discussing that piece of media is ABSOLUTELY something that belongs in the tags, and i can tell you for damn sure if we were talking about misogyny or homophobia in a text, these people would not have the same response!!!
