was talking to a coworker and realised i could not for the life of me remember his name but i was too embarrassed to ask because we've spoken multiple times so mid-conversation i started concocting a plan to nudge the conversation towards the ID photos on our building passes so that i could be like oh my ID photo is awful haha the camera they use to take these has a real talent for making me look as unphotogenic as possible and then he would say oh yes me too haha everyone says that (because they do) and then i would be able to say well let me see yours it can't be as bad as mine! and he would show me his ID because we are coworkers and why wouldn't he and this would allow me to see his building pass which of course would have his name on it and then i would be able to say well yours is perfectly nice it must be me that's the problem! and then we would have a polite chuckle about it and i would have his name without needing to ask for it and he would be none the wiser and all would be well but then before i could execute this fine plan a little voice in my head went "so this is some light yagami bull shit you are about to pull" which was such a violent reality check it shocked me completely out of my embarrassment and i went "hey im so sorry your name has slipped my mind could you remind me" and he did and it was fine.
"This is some Light Yagami bull shit you are about to pull" <- Littany against avoiding small embarrassing/awkward moments that don't matter with over the top ass mind games.
MEGAN THEE STALLION Love Island USA Season 8 Episode 23
Things that work in fiction but not real life
torture getting reliable information out of people
knocking someone out to harmlessly incapacitate them for like an hour
jumping into water from staggering heights and surviving the fall completely intact
calling the police to deescalate a situation
rafting your way off a desert island
correctly profiling total strangers based on vibes
effectively operating every computer by typing and nothing else
ripping an IV out of your arm without consequences
heterosexual cowboy
This post breaching containment has taught me that a lot of people seem to think they can accurately profile complete strangers. For the record, no the fuck you can't.

I feel like one of the conversational skill failures itâs really easy to fall into is assigning the other person an opinion, rather than asking what their opinion is. This kind of inherently puts them on the back foot, which is uncomfortable, so people donât like it.
Starting a conversation by informing the other person that you KNOW their feelings, and you are acting based on the feelings you assume they have, without giving them a chance to tell you what feelings they ACTUALLY have⌠No one likes this!
You may have learned it from your parents doing it to you, in which case I can only imagine you didnât like it either, but you still internalized it as an acceptable mode of communication because we are always internalizing stuff from our parents even though we donât like it. Itâs kind of a quintessential passive-aggressive parent move: âwell, you never want to help me, you donât appreciate everything I do for youâ etc. It puts the addressee in the position of defending themselves and their actual feelings instead of inviting them to SHARE those feelings.
People generally find it easier and more pleasant to converse with you if you go into it with an attitude of curiosity rather than what is essentially a power-play. Assigning your interlocutor an opinion based on your assumptions about their internal experience expresses an unconscious sense that you believe you are and should remain in control of the conversation. But friendly conversations arenât really supposed to be about control.
You will discover that by them saying so. If they do not wish to share their feelings with you, thatâs a different communication problem
The natural conclusion to my berrymania is blueberry pie!đŤâ¨đĽ§
I also realized that I've accidentally made a short comic about the fate of these blueberries with my 3 paintings haha

In Love with these scene ***
k why is this gif the funniest shit iâve ever seen it makes me feel like iâm entering another plane of reality
ok guys I havenât been able to stop thinking about this gif since I saw it and I just need to unpack its various elements for a second:
1. the central tension of this scene, obviously, which is thor realizing jeff goldblum dicked down his kid brotherÂ
2. the fact that jeff goldblum either apparently never learned how to wink OR is trying and failing to bat his eyelashesÂ
3. the way loki opens his mouth as if to try to explain himself to thor and then looks back at jeff goldblum and decides, nah, weâre good, thereâs no coming back from this oneÂ
4. the fact that whoever made this gif decided this scene wasnât hysterical enough on its own and added dramatic telenovela zoomsÂ
5. the combined effect of all of these elements being that not only can I not stop thinking about this gif but also I hear the kill bill siren whenever I look at itÂ

im always the biggest hater to the âthey settled down and had kids :)â aus because like why does every happy ending have to involve the nuclear family bullshit. some people shouldnt have kids and sometimes that person is your blorbo who would neglect a tamagotchi

Google quietly added generative AI capabilities to Google Earth, allowing anyone to generate false images on top of real satellite imagery. It seems pretty rudimentary, but the potential for disinformation is sky-high.
Anyway, did y'all hear that they nuked the White House?
Within the first few hours of its discovery, people on Twitter used this tool to generate an Epstein Island attraction at Disneyland, a mega-prison within Googleâs headquarters, and a sequel to 9/11.
Google has already announced that they will be ârolling backâ this feature because of screenshots like these:
The fact that they want to bring it back with âguardrailsâ is ridiculous. Screenshots like these are not the work of some malign actors, theyâre instant proof that your idea is terrible on its face
