Ingredients: 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour. 1 packet 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast. 1 cup warm water. 2 tbsp olive oil. 1 tsp salt. 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese. 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese. 1/2 cup tomato sauce. 1/2 cup diced pepperoni or toppings of your choice. 1/4 cup vegetable oil for the pan.
Instructions: In a bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy. Add olive oil, salt, and 2 cups of flour to the yeast mixture. Mix until it forms a dough. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Grease a square deep-dish pizza pan with vegetable oil. Press the dough evenly into the pan, covering the bottom and going up the sides. Let the dough rest and rise for 30 minutes. Preheat your oven to 475F 245C. Spread tomato sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the sauce. Add your chosen toppings and then top with the remaining cheese. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and browned. Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, and slice into squares. Enjoy your delicious Buddy's Detroit Deep Dish Pizza!
