Danny huddled beneath the mass of warm scales, trying to avoid the rain that sputtered and hissed into steam whenever it touched the resting form of the older halfa. He choked on broken chirps, burying his head against his tail. Everything hurt, one of his paws and wings gone- what had the wanted them for- 

He sniffled, not wanting to cry. At least- at least Jordan had managed to get them out, it could have been worse. Ancients, it could have been so much worse. Mom and Dad were… Ancients he didn’t want to even think about it- 

A huff of smoke wafted over him, and he looked up into Dan’s crimson eye- the other gone to do who knows what with. It was time to go- they couldn’t stay in one place, they had to keep moving lest the GIW catch up. They didn’t have a choice, not now, not if they didn’t want to die- if they ever could now. It didn’t matter. 

I like the idea of them meeting by accident. Kor'i had been flying around. Taking in some of the sights. It's been a calm few days, she wants to take advantage of the down time while she can. And she spots a fire in the woods. Oh boy, she knows about wild fires! So, as any good hero would! Time to investigate! Sure it might be human hikers. But then she can just ask about cool stuff to see! Make new friends! Either way? Not a wasted trip! Only, that's not what she finds at all. It's a large dragon, curled around two eggs and a baby. The fire is cooking something? And they both look hurt. The big one, for all he looks quite intimidating. What with the spiked scales, vicious Stabby horns and scars? Looks very badly hurt. The little one looks just as badly off. And Kor'i? Has a moment of blinding rage when she sees the collar on the little one. The shackle marks on the adult. The chain wrapped around the torso. Broken at the ends. Where they haven't been fully freed yet. She needs a moment. Also, a bribe, to be allowed close to help.

If either or both do recognize her, are they afraid of her; thinking she'll try to capture them and turn them in? Or, since she's not human, do they trust her to help them?

If they don't recognize her, who and what do they think she is? And again, do they trust the help she offers?

Kor'i stops as soon as Dan reacts aggressively. She lays the food bribe down and then backs away. Starts to talk in as calming a tone as she can, hoping they can understand English. She also shows a few of her scars from when she was enslaved.

"It is ok. I want to help. You are very hurt. Just like me."

Dan stares her down checking how honest she seems. He can't see it feel any deceit. Either she doesn't know what they are, or doesn't agree with the GIW anyway. They can trust her for now. He slowly sets himself down again. Wincing as moving pulls at wounds.

" how did you find us!? "

Danny and their sisters are still hidden under one of Dan's massive wings. He might be willing to give her a chance. But not with his siblings on the line. He relishes in the look of shock when he speaks. He knows his Dragon form voice is far smoother than people expect him to sound. If they expect him to speak at all.

Kor'i sits herself down. If she is not at risk of being Kor'i BBQ she will be comfy.

"I saw smoke from a fire. Wild fires are dangerous. So I came to look. Would you like help to get rid of the chains? I know striking mine felt very good. I have bandages as well. For your little one."

It takes a while, but eventually Dan agrees to let Kor'i help. Her honest and open nature helps this greatly.

Kor'i has started a new ass kicking list. The monsters who hurt this poor drakeling are top of this list.

Kor'i manages to get enough information to know they are still being hunted.

Kor'i is an alien Princess, she has a whole planet she can stash them away on while she kicks ass on Earth.

Am I saying she calls one of her people to come collect some refugees? Absolutely.

Dan and Danny get smuggled to Tamaran. Danny is obviously incredibly pleased by this.

Kor'i has a new investigation to lead. And a new Outlaws case. Roy and Jason will enjoy blowing shit up while the other teams deal with the laws.

Kor'i's first response to seeing their humanoid forms? Huh, I have a type.

Dan is highly sus about everything until they pass orbit. As soon as that happens? He finally relaxs. Kor'i about screeches seeing the wounds he had hidden by tensing.

He is also far smaller when he isn't bracing himself in go mode. Holy shit is he emaciated.

Kori: I am pleased you seem to enjoy our local cuisine!

Danny: better than the living weenie dogs, by far

My problem is that they look like duck-faced beavers, so I expect them to *be* the size of beavers.

The villain that kidnapped the kids didn’t really know who the kids they kidnapped were. All they needed was a large group of them and hijacking a whole field trip bus seemed to be the fastest way to check that part off the list.

All of Amity Park 10th grade class were on a week long field trip to go study a new ruins site recently uncovered. The mayor having connections to it had set it up for them and is paying for everything.

None of them are happy Vlad set it up but they will all happily spend his money. Everyone goes on this trip prepared to try their best to bankrupt this man.

The next thing they know though is they’re halfway there when some gas starts coming out of the vents. Quickly knocking them all out in one go.

The villain, now with a newly acquired bus of fresh hostages, drops the kids off in the survival area they created that’s filled with traps, dangerous creatures, the whole shebang. Clearly made so that some kids will die even if the JL find them quickly once they start the stream.

So Mr/Mrs/Mx villain have set up everything and are fully ready to relish in all of these random kids waking up and panicking. They’ve already started live streaming to the world before the kids even start to wake up.

When they do they do so slowly, enough time to really make people watching start to squirm

Now the JL were already all swarming to a meeting the moment the stream went live and they’re already trying to figure out how to find these kids.

From here idk what the villain is doing this for but it could be one of two reasons (or both)

1) JL has something or someone they want or something only they could manage to get a hold of. And they’ll just keep those kids hidden and basically in hunger games like arena until they get the macguffin.

2) They’re doing it to basically try and make the world lose faith in the JL by making everyone watch a group of kids suffer and die while the JL runs around like chickens with their head cut off trying to find them

The kids are fully starting to wake up now and the villain is already gloating over the live footage

The JL are stressing already on what’s gonna happen to those kids. They’re especially worried about the kids reactions when they’re all coherent enough to fully comprehend the situation they just woke up to.

But no one watching was prepared for the first reaction they got.

A kid with black hair and blue eyes that recovered a bit faster then everyone else is the first one to really get a look at their new surroundings and the first thing out of that twig of a kid’s mouth is

“Ah man not this shit again”

Which makes everyone watching, including the villain, pause…cause that’s not a normal reaction a regular kid would have to this particular scenario.

Zero people watching were expecting those words strung together at the moment

It all just becomes more confusing for everyone watching as every single kid there has a similar reaction of annoyance if not just mildly perturbed.

What even more so throws the viewing parties off is when the kids immediately get down to business on making plans with one another.

All weirdly enough seeming to look to the initial black haired kid as defacto leader.

“So Fenton you got a clue where we are and who put us here?”

A blond kid with an athletic build and a letterman’s jacket asked.

“Nope not a clue, or at least not any of the usual suspects normal shticks standing out right now. Tuck you got anything?”

This “Fenton” kid said turning to the boy next to him who’s wearing a red beret and going to town typing on…is that a PDA??

“Not a thing here either, no nearby Wi-Fi or cell connection either, looks like we’re completely isolated wherever we are”

At that a few kids just huff or groan but none seem panicked at all or stressed in the slightest. All of them perking back up when their apparent leader speaks again

“Okay welp we’ve all done this song and dance before, let’s spilt up to the usual groups. A-listers with me. We’re gonna find some improvised weapons and check around for anything dangerous.”

He points to a goth looking girl next to him.

“Sam’s group, go with her to find food, water and shelter in case we get stuck here for a bit if we can’t figure a way home soon”

He turns back to the beret kid

“Techie’s with Tuck see if you can’t find a signal nearby or cobble together something to get a connection to reach further….just don’t wonder too far this time please we don’t want a repeat of ‘The Incident’”

That cryptic mention being the only thing so far to get a slight bit more emotion out of the kids but one more so laced in embarrassment rather than any fear.

And at that all the kids set off to their apparently regular tasks for the situation at hand.

The villain is silent…

The JL are silent…

The worldwide viewers are silent…

…

The villain starts up again, slightly flustered.

“Well..those kids MAY be acting tough now but they have no idea the dangers in store for them. So hurry to follow my demands or I’ll start to unleash my deadly creatures on them…if the traps don’t kill then first”

That monologue kicking the JL back into gear on coming up with a way to track down where these kids are.

As time moves forward and the JL are trying to find the kids the more they get to watch these kids in action.

The kids all seem fine and are able to handle everything thrown at them with a practiced ease.

The longer it takes though the less worried the JL are about the kids safety in the moment and the more worried the JL become of WHY this random group of kids are unreasonably good at surviving everything.

I can imagine the viewers are all slightly more impressed than worried.

Of course, the heroes are alarmed that these sophomores run such a tight ship the Navy Seals are blushing.

But it's impressive how calmly Fenton took charge and how smoothly the groups set about their tasks.

The villain's attempt at gaining notoriety has failed.

What would also be hilarious is if, during this, Jazz Fenton uses the Family's Pseudo-Spaceship to crash into the Watchtower like 'how are you guys so incompetent you have at least 10 more years of experience with illegal affairs than them!'

Superman would try to calm this frazzled redhead down while the rest are a) trying to find out who she is, b) why she is there, c) where she got that ship from.

The reason for why makes some sense but it raises more questions instead. Like, it's a throwback to the 'aliens have lived amongst us for decades' conspiracy theory, and the one that makes the most sense.

60% of the JL are now convinced that the villain accidentally kidnapped a bunch of aliens, if not metas, that hid on a school trip. It would also explain why that leader of theirs (the redheads younger brother) said 'not again' as alien/ meta kidnapping would be more likely than a repeated kidnapping of some normal teenagers.

They don't figure how they are right and wrong with that assumption, except it's the grey line in between all that that counts as truth.

Anyways, Jazz not only bypasses their repeated attempts at authority (roasting them for not having preventive measures against a known threat while also making a list of signs of mental illnesses in the JL on her phone - yes, she plans to make them the target of her graduation paper) she groans at their work so far before getting a weird boomerang out of her backpack. When asked whatever she's gonna use that for they got this: "I've raised or helped that Class survive a pirate mutiny and school, I will find them and there's not a force in this world or the afterlife that will make me stop!!"

She throws it for Danny and finds Dani, much to Superman's mounting horror cuz that kid looks like the leader and is that villain secretly cloning-

Jazz asks Dani if she could go home and look for Skulker. She figured if someone wants to hunt her brother they should at least meet the guy who'd tried before them.

Yes, the red flags keep increasing to the steadily rising confusion and horror of the JL, not counting the group currently in-charge of watching the life feed of the trapped kids- The PDA kid just smacked a scorpion with a stone and ate it!! Why, cuz he wanted to die? No. He and the goth girl were arguing cuz there were only berries, nuts and green vegan options her scavenger hunt brought and boi said "I crave meat".

Danny was originally planning on waiting till night time to use the stars to figure out where they were and plot a course to safety. And then night time rolled around and he realizes quickly that that’s not a real sky/stars and that they’re trapped in some sort of dome like cage/arena.

Danny and class are just having fun at this point. Tucker managed to tap into the live stream and is using it to scout out other areas of the arena. The villain is pissed. The kids now know where the animals and weapons and traps are 😭😭😭

Danny, now an adult, works as an engineer and tech developer for Wayne Enterprises. One day, he has to bring his daughter, Ellie, into work with him. Ellie’s school had been temporarily shut down after a rouge attack, and the campus isn’t yet safe for the students to return to.

Tim: Well hello there mischief! I'm Tim, who are you and your Dad?

Ellie: I'm Ellie, and Papa is Danny. You should have an orange Mr Tim. You look tired. Snacks help!!

Tim: Thank you Ellie. It's kind of you to offer. So! What are you looking forward to this week? Other than feeding people oranges?

Ellie: Papa works on space machines! And he says there's videos to some of them!! which sounds amazing!!!!!

Tim: It is very cool. Did your Papa tell you why we have the videos?

What about Dan?

Do we have an Uncle Dan who has been banned from babysitting Ellie because the last time ended with several felonies!

An Big Brother Dan who goes to a different school than Ellie and is very upset he doesn’t get to go to work with Danny?

Or a Baby Dan in some kind of high security daycare or spending time with Grandpa Frostbite/Clockpa/Pappy Pariah/Nona Pandora?

Each has its own potential.

For example….

We could have Uncle Dan babysit Ellie while Danny has Date Night with Tim. The two decide to spy on Danny’s date and run into the other bat sibs doing the same.

We could also have Big Bro Dan being super overprotective of Danny and tries to bite Tim who is having Damian flashbacks.

I had been trying to think of how to incorporate Dan when I first wrote the prompt but I couldn’t figure out how to work him in and now you’ve given me ideas.

I was also thinking of a fourth option: Danny is currently incubating Dan’s core after he was injured and had to revert in order to properly heal. And due to the extent of his injuries, neither Danny nor Frostbite are 100% sure how long Dan will need to heal. So imagine Danny and Tim finally start dating, and then, all of a sudden lil baby Dan pops out.

Tim: So, why didn't you bring your son too?

Ellie: Dante bites! Look I gotta picture!

*Shows picture of Dan hanging from a thugs arm as Danny tries to pry him loose. Then a second with a smug looking Dan with blood around his mouth, a bleeding thug in the background and a deeply designed Danny*

Danny: Yeah... I don't want him getting even more bloodthirsty. And he hates people cooing over him. Dante allows family near. Anyone else gets bitten.

Tim:... That is some impressive jaw strength for a toddler. No wonder he's at home.

Ellie: He's with Grampy F! Grampy is the best! He teaches me stuff all the time. I'm learning hunting soon!!!

Danny: Just promise not to practise on Gotham's wildlife... We don't know what's in it.

Ellie: He needs friends! I didn't know you had an Uncle Papa?

Waylon: Papa? Jack's a Gramps?!?!?! I didn't even know Jackie had kids...

Danny: Dad was told you died. I'll have to call him. Here, have a munchkin and a bloodthirsty scavenger!

What I'm saying is, Danny has probably practiced being a dragon. Ellie and Dan are young enough to just change at will.

Danny asks Tim if he'd like to go flying and the kids turn into little scaly beasts in front of Tim. Danny offers the amulet to Tim, warning him that becoming a dragon, even temporary, will make him quick to anger for as long as he wears it. But he can turn into a dragon anr join them on their flight. Tim offers the Drake manor and lands to practice at.

The Bats freak out when they hear and see a bunch of dragons. Except Damian.

Tim, looking at Danny: le gasp, it worked! I swear I’ll only use this power to augment reality for good.

I had a thought! I've been looking at a lot of Newt Scamamder art and at one point part of a pic got covered in a shadow and I was like omg that could be Damien! We all know that if he was able the manor would be a zoo by now.

Now, what does that have to do with DP? Well how would he get that type of case? Obviously he came to the manor with it.

The Everlasting Trio is on Vacation from ruling the IR and have decided to become Zoologist of the magically variety to change things up. So they pick a dimension that has heroes so that Danny doesn't decide he needs to get involved and can focus on their cases.

Cue them crossing paths with this baby assassin out on an assignment pre-bruce and decide that their good deed for the day is giving this baby liminal animal therapy. Eventually ending with them giving their new son/nephew/apprentice (whatever) his own case, with clear animal care instructions, to look after (and definitely find out why this child spells like corrupted ectoplasm and GET RID OF IT, resulting in said child getting sent to his father early). With the promise to check in on him to see how he's doing and potentially offer him a job once he's grown.

I just wonder how long Damien could hide a briefcase like that from his father. And the shenanigans that would result from him being so focused on this gift he received from actual Gods and him not caring about being a blood son or Robin cause he's already been acknowledged by higher beings and he's looking forward to his future promised position

Damian is a busy bee. Learning all the everything he can about animal care. Researching about the animals he has in extra depth and ones he wants for future reference. He finds out about animal shelters and starts to pester Bruce for permission to volunteer. He wants hands on practise for certain tasks. The instructions he was given are clear. But he did not get much practise at medicating his new animals.

Danny, Sam and Tucker are busy bouncing from LoA base to base. Getting rid of the pits. Fixing the veil between dimensions so it isn't a tear, but more like a sieve. To stop any more pits forming. Between each base destroyed the visit Damian and coo over his progress. Teach him more about his case. Give him help to look after the more difficult animals. On the way spot a few more Liminals in Gotham. Huh... Ok, so they gotta sort out the rage liminal and the two pits in Gotham too. More time with Dami!!

Dpxdc Prompt #26

All vigilantes get bad dreams. Of the ones they couldn't save, the criminals that got away, even of their fellow heroes dying. When you take up the cape you are practically signing an agreement for nightmares to haunt your sleep.

It's apart of the job, no matter how terrible.

One night after a long patrol, when the Bats were all dreading sleep, it was Steph that brought it up.

"We should get dreamcatchers. Hang em up on our doors, they'd help."

No one responded immediately, every single one of them knew that was a pipedream, including Steph.

"If it makes you feel better, go for it Steph." Dick finally obliged, after a too-long awkward silence.

When the intricate dreamcatchers appeared on the doors to their bedrooms a week later no one took them down. They all had ways to cope and if Steph giving all of them dreamcatchers gave her comfort who were they to deny it? Plus it was nice to have a bit of hope, no matter how fragile.

They didn't expect the dreamcatchers to actually work.

Teen dad Danny Fenton moving into Crime Alley and getting a reputation for helping. Street kids willing to babysit Ellie and Dan while he’s job hunting can spend the night, have a meal, get cash, whichever they choose. Sec workers who do Ellie’s hair/nails/babysit some nights also get the same benefits. He will treat anyone with injuries for the low price of showing Ellie and Dan their guns/taking them to the observatory/getting him job opportunities.

All of the people in Crime Alley know the single meta dad with two kids, who has helped half the alley at least. Everyone is also aware of how Ellie calls her other parent ‘The Bastard’, and how bad their nightmares are, the ones they have to call Danny for(A few of his repeat guests have seen the scars and burns on his arms. Some of the older street kids recognize that hunted look he gets when people touch him when he doesn’t know they are there. Some of the sec workers notice how protective he is of his kids, and the younger workers. No matter who they are, they all notice how Dan gets quiet and angry when asked about his ‘other dad’. They all have sworn never to let those kids go back to the other dad, Danny included. They are a part of Crime Alley now, and they protect their own)

"Nah, if he was dead he would make more work for daddy."

"Oh wait! I think he's waking up!"

Red Hood woke up with difficulty, his ears still ringing from the explosion that he had been far too close to. Fuck he hated how explosive happy every rogue in Gotham was. Himself included.

Like when someone tells you they're a teen parent? You immediately assume it's someone within the age circle maybe a few years older but not that much

So I imagine this going like :

Danny has someone babysit going on the fact that they have a child themselves, and Danny thought it'd be nice for Dan and dani to socialise and make friends their age

The children are drawing (for the sake of simplicity I'll name the child mia)

Dani : what are you drawing?

Mia: my family! This is momma an' this is dad!

Dani : hmmm

Mia : what are you drawing?

Dani : the bustard getting his dick chopped off!

Mia: ohh!! Cool ,what about you Dan?

Dan : the bastard, grandpa and grandma dying in an explosion (bad fenton reveal babyy)

The adult/mia's mom (uhhh sophie?) : I get the bastard but why your grandparents?

Dan scoffed and dani rolled her eyes, "because!! They took the bastard's side!!and kicked daddy out when they found out the truth!!"

Sophie: they took his side?

Sophie frowns for a second. Why would Danny's parents be friends with whoever is the other father of the kids? Danny doesn't seem like the type to bring someone home, unless-

"Hey Dan, how old would you say the bastard is?"

"I don't know like 50 Or something?"

"I heard daddy and auntie talking about it before we left!"

"We left so long ago tho! So technically he'd be older!"

Sophie tuned out the kids argument -she stopped listening ar 56 really- because what the actual fuck

She takes a few deliberate breathss -in for 4, hold for 5, out for 6- she not naive she's gotham born and raised, not just gotham, crime alley

She is not surprised that somebody would do this she knows how shity people can be-how shitty parents can be - she's seen and she's lived, but she takes a moment to grief for poor danny

Betrayed by the people meant to protect him, pushed out by people meant to sheild him, how he must have felt, living under their house because clearly they didn't stop inving the bastard over

He must of been terrified , to have to put up with the bastard in his own house must of been hard

He was just a kid

By the time danny comes home the kids are tucked in bed and kia is dosing in her lap, as she makes her way home, Mia held securely in arms -danny offered to walk them home but the poor guy looked dead on his feet and its not like shes afraid of getting mugged or anything red hood made sure of that -

by tomorrow morning everyone heard about the new information

And crime alley riots , everyone starts shit and red hood shoots atleast 10 different people (who very much were asking for it and batsy can go fuck himself), the bats had to get involved

Bats dont get involved in crime alley shit

What happens in the alley stays in the alley

And danny is staying, he's one of them and no old man will ever put another hand on him becasue they'll tear it off
