It’s open until 1st March 2018, it’s open to everyone in any country, and last year we got about 10,000 participants - you can see the results here.

After the survey is closed I’ll process the results and publish a spreadsheet of the data and a blog post summarising the main findings. Then anyone can use them for academic or business purposes, self-advocacy, tracking the popularity of language over time, and just feeling like we’re part of a huge and diverse community.

When we want to stress an adjective in Euskara, we just repeat it:

This is a poster I was recently commissioned to do for Great Little Place. GLP is an app that has been created with the sole aim of presenting you with the hidden and less known bars and restaurants around you, or an area you are planning to visit. I was given a list of fifteen European cities for which I had to create illustrations depicting famous landmarks and unique architectural styles.

Which is why the shape of two lovers seen in the smoke of its most recent eruption is so culturally significant. 

I’m disabled, and it’s really uncomfortable to field that question about work in a social setting. (”Why no, random person at the yarn store, I don’t want to tell you about that, or about the nature of my disability”.)

The whole point about why communicating with the Tamarians was so frustrating was because all of their communication was contextual. The problem wasn’t that Picard couldn’t understand what words they were saying (the universal translator worked fine) the problem was that he didn’t understand what THOSE WORDS TOGETHER HAD TO DO WITH ANYTHING.

Why is this hilarious/fascinating to me? Because this is essentially what people are doing today with memes. They are posting pictures and writing sentences THAT MAKE NO SENSE WITHOUT PRIOR CONTEXT.
