Water-writing mats turn black when wet and return to their original colour once dry, so they are often used to practise calligraphy with water. The black colour allows you to see your writing clearly, and the mat can be reused as soon as the writing dries and disappears.

This is very flattering, although it makes me wonder what about me you’re aspiring to be like.

I hope you want to be as intellectually curious as me, or as goofy and irreverent. I’m equal parts deeply unserious and idealistic nihilist, and maybe there’s something in there you’re drawn to? I’m passionate about art, culture, history, and the destruction of capitalist-fascism, and hope that societal disruption leads to a brighter future for the generations that follow us. Or maybe you also have an intense lust for hot men that would never give you the time of day?
