important reminder that most people you follow online are significantly lamer than you think they are including me. and if you feel insecure comparing yourself to someone online: DON'T. theyre probably also lame and weird. most people on the internet are
reblog if you're also lame and weird.
what the fuck man you cant do that
Someone was annoying me by constantly reposting some tadc logo generator and quirky funnies so I decided to try it did I do it right
Of course the MF is also a lolicon artist
I hope this doesn't come across in bad faith, it's just something I want to understand better since I saw the post you reblogged about spotting transmedicalist statements:
I've seen some trans people say that in order to be trans you need to have dysphoria (in whatever way that presents), and whilst I agree with this I've also seen others say that you don't need dysphoria at all to be trans. I think my confusion comes from why some people would identify with a different gender or sex if they didn't feel any dysphoria at all, but I also feel like some of these people don't really seem to understand the whole spectrum of dysphoria, and that it isn't just constantly feeling suicidal but it can be something as simple as 'I would rather be referred to as he because being called she makes me feel uncomfortable'. I've seen people say you just need gender euphoria but I think that you can't have euphoria without dysphoria, they're two sides of the same coin and one can't exist without the other.
I guess what I'm trying to ask is, would my view on this make me a transmedicalist? I don't believe in the other statements that align with being a transmed, but I also feel like I can't agree with the 'you don't need dysphoria to be trans' statement because it feels like at that point it makes it seem like being trans is a choice since I don't see why someone would choose to transition if they were fine as they were in the first place.
Again I'm really sorry if this comes off as rude, I'd just like to understand as much as possible and would appreciate any insight you or other people could give me 🙏
Thinking that there is a requirement to being transgender beyond being/wanting to be another gender than you were assigned is kind of automatically transmedicalist shit.
It's not a medical diagnosis, there is no specific "criteria" you must meet to be transgender besides fitting the definition/identifying with it.
I completely understand where you're coming from on people misunderstanding how dysphoria works. It is much more complicated than just feeling suicidal or something like that and a lot of people are pressured out of recognizing their dysphoria as it is.
But I think you're also misunderstanding euphoria. The idea you must have been feeling bad or uncomfortable before in order to feel great happiness/joy isn't how it works! It's also a whole spectrum.
Sometimes I'm happy hanging with my friends and they say some shit that abruptly makes me super happy. It doesn't mean I was sad or uncomfortable before; it just means there are infinite shades of happiness and some things can make you abruptly happier or just generally happier.
I think you've created, like, an alternate meaning for gender euphoria in your head but its just a feeling of happiness or joy related to your gender, Anon.
You don't have to have been feeling sad or uncomfortable in your gender to suddenly feel happier about it or happy generally; sometimes people are completely neutral to their gender or happy in it but find something that makes them happy/ier! That's all.
The thing is, "requiring" things to make someone trans besides fitting the definition of "wanting/being a different gender than you were assigned at birth" is kinda one of the key components of being a transmedicalist.
Because it's transphobic and treats being trans like some sort of medical diagnosis you have to meet the criteria of as opposed to just a gender label that describes your relation to your (c)agab.
You don't want it to seem like being trans is a choice but the thing is, there's nothing wrong with that.
There's nothing wrong with being trans. It's okay if someone chooses to change their gender for no reason other than it makes them happier even if they were "fine" in the first place. Some people just want to be happier or have fun or do things that bring them joy.
There's nothing wrong with someone choosing to be trans because there's nothing wrong with BEING trans. No, not everyone chooses to be trans but some people do and there's nothing wrong with that either.
It doesn't hurt anyone. The only people who really give a fuck about it are transphobes and their opinion shouldn't have any place in the conversation.
It's just a different experience and you don't really get to decide other people's experiences just "don't count" because of a definition of transgender made by people who explicitly hated us.
Also, no worries about coming off as rude. I don't mind answering questions, lemme know if you have any other/need any clarifications. I hope this helps!

I've seen a bunch of "fandom etiquette" posts on my dash today and I'm going to say something that is maybe going to be unpopular but;
The absolutely pervasive mentality that unwanted criticism or critique shouldn't be given and should be ignored is why fans of color don't stay in fan spaces.
And I am not going to mince words here:
A lot of you are racist. A lot of your fan works are racist.
That might have been difficult to hear. And if it was, you should probably reflect on why that was.
"Fandom etiquette" has created a space where fans of color either bite our tongues and eventually leave or say something, get dogged on, and then eventually leave.
So much of "fandom etiquette" seems to be about insulating creatives from Feeling Bad and hostility to any kind of negative feedback is a pretty big contributor to why bigotry festers in these spaces.
“scientists don’t want you know” is a phrase that always cracks me up because if you actually meet a scientist they will be shaking and crying like an overstimulated chihuahua with the need to let you know
it sucks that the overwhelming majority of medical messaging around salt/sodium is "evil poisonous substance that you're definitely already eating way too much of," because like. you do still need it. (trust me, as a POTS-haver, I've had to completely rewire my own brain about salt.) and you need more salt when the entire northern hemisphere is hot enough to fry an egg on. ever tried sucking down the recommended 64oz of hydration per day entirely as water, only to find you're peeing constantly without any of the purported benefits of being "hydrated"? assuming you don't have another medical condition that causes frequent urination, your body probably needed more salt/electrolytes to be able to hold onto that water and make use of it. if there was ever a time to keep a sports drink/pedialyte/etc within constant reach, it's when the heat index is 110°F/43°C.
