hi  there,  welcome  to  my  blog  !  i’m  christina  (  she  /  her  ),  i’m  twenty,  &  i  live  in  the  est  timezone.  i  write  an  independent  &  selective  ARCHIE  ANDREWS  of  archie  comics,  with  his  default  verse  taking  place  in  the  jughead:  the  hunger  comic  series.  google  docs.  multimuse  blog.

          they all thought they had forever  ,   didn’t  they ?   when  you’re  young  -  well  ,   you  have  forever !  you  see  your  friends  every  day  ,   know  them  as  well  as  you  know  your  own  family  ,   as  well  as  you  know  yourself  .   in  high  school  ,   your  friends  were  your  family  away  from  home  -  and  in  riverdale  ,   pop’s  is  your  second  home  .   and  for  betty  and  archie ?  such  thoughts  are  there  as  well  ,   except  she’s  the  girl  next  door  and  he’s  the  boy  next  door  .  

              the  two  of  them  were  the  CONSTANT  in  each  other’s  lives  -  or  at  least  betty  was  .   even  when  jughead  became  the  ripper  ,   archie  was  there  ;   when  he  found  out  she  was  a  hunt  ,   archie  was  there  ;   and  when  they  found  jughead  -  archie  was  there  .   they  were  always  going  to  be  in  each  other’s  lives  .  

                they’re  there  for  each  other  ,   even  when  she  physically  isn’t  -  late  nights  on  the  phone   (  thank  god  for  facetime  ,   she  can’t  imagine  how  horrid  it  would  be  had  to  skype  -  or  worse  ,   oovoo  )  ,   constant  texting  throughout  the  day  ,   voice  messages  -  and  of  course  ,   their  six  year  snap  streak !  

                  it’s  still  not  the  same  as  being  in  archie’s  arms  ,   not  the  same  as  her  throwing  her  head  back  and  laughing  while  blonde  tendrils  ripple  in  the  air  .    ‘  you  need  to  come  visit  more  often !  and  guess  what :   no  more  roommate  boundaries  ,   so  you  can  stay  as  long  as  you  want  .  ’   arms  wrap  around  his  neck  ,   she  pulls  him  closer  and  feels  as  if  she  can  finally  BREATHE  ,   the  feeling  of  archie  surrounding  her  .  

                  ‘  i’ve  missed  you  so  much  ,   too  .  ’   and  she  finally  pulls  away  ,   HUGE  smile  upon  her  pink  lips  breaking  out  ,   nodding  in  agreement  .   she’s  going  to  make  archie  love  new  york  as  much  as  she  does  .    ‘  have  you  eaten  yet ?  ’  

most   of   the   time,   he’s   content.   he’s   okay   with   the   way   things   have   played   out   ---   he   has   to   believe   it’s   all   been   for   a   reason,   or   that   it’s   apart   of   some   bigger   plan   for   things   to   align   the   way   they’re   meant   to.   it   isn’t   always   simple.   he’s   in   riverdale.   he’s   reliving   the   highs   and   lows   of   their   high   school   adolescence   every   singly   day,   while   the   rest   of   his   friends   have   seemingly   made   it   out   ---   one   way   or   another.   he   was   never   made   for   change,   and   even   with   the   normality   of   his   hometown   at   his   fingertips,   he’s   afraid   to   face   everything   that’s   changed.   it’s   like   everyone’s   so   sure   of   where   they’re   meant   to   be,   what   they’re   supposed   to   be   doing,   what   they   need   to   make   of   themselves   ---   and   archie’s   just   stuck.   it’s   a   thought   he’ll    have   to   shake   away;   this   is   their   weekend,   and   betty   always   felt   a   little   bit   magic   in   her   ability   to   relieve   archie’s   anxieties.

“   i’ll   stay   as   long   as   you   want   me   to,   betts,   ”   he   reassures   her,   placing   an   arm   across   her   shoulder.   they   fit   like   a   puzzle   this   way   ---   together,   in   each   other’s   arms,   no   presence   of    werewolves,   or   hunters,   or   guns   and   silver   bullets.   none   of   the   stressors   that   had   once   drawn   them   apart.

❝  don’t  pay  too  much  attention  to  me,  i’m  not  exactly  the  most  interesting  guy  in  town.  all  i  am  is  the  guy  everybody’s  talking  about  today.

𝙹 𝙰 𝙼 𝙴 𝚂

when  you  lose  something,  you  play  it  over  and  over  until  it  just  gets  more  confusing,  until  you  have  literally  no  idea  what  happened.  you  either  can't  or  won't  listen  to  the  other  person  and  they  can't  or  won't  listen  to  you,  and  the  arguments  you  make  up  with  them  in  the  shower  don't  lead  you  anywhere.  what  you  do  in  your  head  and  what  you  do  in  real  life  are  often  two  very  different  things,  and  that  fact  haunts  you.

what horror movie trope are you?

THE  FINAL  GIRL.  you  survived  even  though  the  odds  were  stacked  against  you  .  .  .  are  stubborn,  strong  willed  and  absolutely  feral.  you've  been  through  hell.  now  go  take  a  shower  and  wash  that  blood off  .  .  .  and get some therapy.

            one of the best things  betty  cooper  could  have  done  for  herself  after  the  whole  …  jughead  turning  into  a  werewolf  ,   jb  already  being  one  ,   and  reggie  and  veronica  starting  their  weird  little  pack  …  was  getting  the  HELL  out  of  riverdale  for  college  .   before  senior  year  of  high  school  ,   the  girl  wasn’t  even  aware  she  had  a  future  out  of  hunting  -  before  realizing :   there  were  plenty  of  rouge  wolves  in  new  york  and  central  park  just  the  same  .   she’s  a  bit  happier  away  from  her  family  ,   she  thinks  .  

             betty  jumps  on  his  back  when  she  recognizes  him  at  washington  square  ,   because  OF COURSE  she  would  recognize  archie  andrews  anywhere  ,   even  if  this  was  a  planned  meetup .   he’s  her  best  friend  -  but  he’s  also  the  person  she  trusts  the  most  on  this  entire  planet  .    slender  hands  cover  his  eyes  ,   she  leans  in  ,   hair  brushing  against  his  face  as  she  does  .    ‘  guess  who ?  ’    betty  asks  in  a  sing-song  voice  ,   as  if  he  doesn’t  know  her  every  move  as  well  as  she  knows  his   (  he  does  )  .    ‘  are  you  ready  to  see  my  roommate-free  and  betty  cooper  approved  redecorated  apartment ?  ’  

          archie  was  once  fooled  into  believing  he  had  all the  time  in  the  world.  that  augusts  spent  working  on  a  jalopy  &  octobers  at  drive-in  movie  horror  nights  would  never  end.  he  once  believed  the  horror  would  stay  on  the  screen  --  that  nothing  could  touch  him  or  his  friends,  for  they  were  invincible.  he  believed  it’d  always  be  him,  betty  &  jughead  --  no  tribes  to  divide  them,  nor  city  lines.

          then  jughead  was  the  riverdale  ripper.  betty  was  a  hunter.  archie  learned  to  shoot  a  gun.  the  beginning  of  an  end.  high  school  ended.  the  group  graduated.  they  moved  on.  everyone  moved  on  --  except  archie.

         he  always  pictured  himself  in  riverdale,  at  the  end  of  everything.  it’s  hard  to  picture  himself  anywhere  else  when  this  small  slice  of  american  suburbia  is  all  he’s  ever  known.  betty  was  always  meant  for  more,  yeah,  but  it’s  hard  not  seeing  her.  her  bedroom  light,  her  window  curtains  --  closed  indefinitely,  at  least  until  the  summer.

         but  the  summer’s  not  enough  when  you’d  had  autumns,  springs  &  winters.  she’s  his  best  friend.  it’s  with  this  in  mind  that  he’ll  make  the  trip  out  to  new  york  city  --  a  boy  in  washington  square  park,  tall  as  ever  &  staring  blankly  at  his  phone  screen.  admittedly,  he  doesn’t  really  fit  in.  he’ll  make  the  space  for  betty  cooper.
