thinking about the horrible writing decisions in penny dreadful again - and while all of season 3 is terrible, the most agregious to me has to be how ethans family is killed. like you have this character, whose whole thing is that hes a werewolf, running away from a terrible past, and accidentally killing people along the way. his whole character arc is one of ramping guilt until he gives in and confronts his past. what ever he has done while running away has to be atleast not as bad as what hes running from. but its revealed to be like. he helped a group of native americans, who went on to kill his family. and he had no direct involvement. which is not only, horribly racist, but a complete waste of this building tension and guilt they created over the past 2 seasons! like they had the perfect set up, of ethan being a werewolf, who accidentally killed his family, but instead just make a blatantly racist writing decision. for no real reason!!!

does anyone know a movie where a guy slowly manipulates another guy and then one of them kills eachother at the end. like specifically in a gay way. ive watched talented mr ripley, power of the dog and ravenous but i need more...
