Damn, some scammers are doing overtime today
Bookish asks
17 or 35 or 48
17: If you owned a bookshop what would you call it? I... honestly have no idea. But it would most likely have something to do with cats.
35: Name a book you consider to be terribly underrated An Agency for Scandal by Laura Wood
48: Where is your favorite place to read? My bed. Boring, I know
Bookish asks: 4, 6 & 16?
4: What was the last book you added to your tbr? Either Knight Eternal by Margaret Rogerson or Henry Tudor Must Die by Jillian Laine. Two different apps with two different lists, I don't know which happened last XD
6: Which book was the last one you really, really loved? Violet Thistle Is Not a Villain Anymore might be my favorite for this year so far. But How to Age Disgracefully by Claire Pooley and The Exquisite Torment of Loving Your Enemy were fun too. Oh, and Yesteryear was fascinating.
16: If you could bring three books to a deserted island which would you bring and why? ...How to Get off a Deserted Island? I know, I know, old joke XD Fuh... I'd take one of the Chronicles of St. Mary's books. Heartless Hunter. And something really, really thick from my TBR. Let's say The Traitor by Anthony Ryan.

The whole phenomena around Nolan's Odyssey is so wild. On the one hand, there is the general public, who is absolutely crazy about it, and going wild about it, and talking about how it is THE cinematic event of the year. A real masterpiece.
Meanwhile, on the other hand, you have all the people who actually know a thing about antiquity and Homer and Greek mythology (and, on some occassions, gender studies) who are all "actually, here is my list of 537 things that are seriously wrong with this movie."
The Night
(A/N: there was once a "rubbing noses" prompt, which probably came in the same ask as another, already filled prompt. I don't remember who sent it. anyway, this is a fill for that. A smutty one.)
There was something indescribably beautiful about him as he leaned over her, the candlelight dancing on the planes of his face, highlighting the coppery hues in his hair.
"We don't have to do this," he said softly, leaning his forehead against hers. "We could wait."
She almost scoffed at his earnest, albeit misguided offer. "Wait for another opportunity like this? Your dad away, my parents busy, and I'm in a safe period of my cycle? We could be waiting until Ragnarok comes."
"But—" he started, but she angled her head slightly, rubbing her nose against his—a strangely innocent gesture, given the situation—, silencing him.
"No buts," she told him firmly. "I want this. I want you." Her hand sneaked down between their bare bodies. "And you want me."
A shudder ran through him as her fingers wrapped around his length. He was hard, hot and throbbing. She had spent the last couple of months getting to know that part of him—luxuriating in the power that she had over him—, and by now there was an empty ache in her core, desperately wanting to know how it would feel like to be filled by him.
She wouldn't let his fickle insecurities have him back down.
"You'll be the death of me," he nearly growled, his face buried in the crook of her neck, the lines of his shoulders taut as she gave him a squeeze.
"Please," she breathed, teasing his earlobe with her lips and teeth—she knew by now that that could drive him mad.
He exhaled, which almost sounded like resignation. Like determination. "It might hurt."
"I'll take the pain," she promised, although she doubted it'd hurt that much—she was wet and ready, he'd made sure of that. "I just want to feel you inside me. Please."
There was a shift—in him, in the air.
It was decided. There was no turning back now.
He moved, seeking her lips and kissing her, slow and sweet. "I love you."
Then there was some awkward fidgeting and poking around—her thighs open wider, welcoming him—, and then, with a suddenly confident thrust, he was pushing inside.
Astrid gasped; there was a sharp pinch—her maidenhead had been intact until then—, quick to come, quick to go. And then—bliss. There was something near divine in the way he filled her, stretched her, reached parts of her no-one had ever reached before.
It was like a homecoming, satisfying a need inside her that she had only been half-aware before.
"I love you," she echoed, giving herself over to the pleasure as he started to move.
