Because when trans women dare to speak up for themselves, Tumblr nukes their blogs.

We need to be fucking loud about this, daily, because Tumblr staff is specifically targeting and deleting trans women who are not breaking ToS and who often have fundraisers up FOR THEIR SURVIVAL.

By deleting these blogs repeatedly, Tumblr staff is saying loud and clear what they hope happens to these girls.

Are y'all okay with that? Because if not we need to be posting about it more because we have seen by now it's incredibly fucking unlikely this sites moderation will delete our blogs for it because we are not trans women

„Does (group of people) belong at pride?“ does not have a good answer - because it’s the wrong question. 

Sure, we could say „Yes. It’s always yes“ and that would be fine for a simplified answer. We can talk about how you can’t exclude straight people from Pride without also running the risk of accidentally excluding trans people or bi people or even femme/masc gay couples. We can talk about how you can’t always see gender or sexuality at first glance. We can talk about how questioning people or closeted people can only safely attend Pride if there’s plausible deniability. We can talk about the history of Pride and that it has always included more than gays and lesbians. We can talk about how people have been, and are to this day, not only being discriminated against for being gay but for any deviation of what’s seen as „normal“. We can talk about how allowing people to hate the gay guy in lipstick and high heels does not protect the gay guy in a suit because once they have thrown the first one in jail they’ll turn their attention to the second. 

Yes, we can talk about all that and more. But… why do we even need to talk about lowering the number of people at Pride? Why should that even be something we want? 

Look, no matter how little you may personally care to see people wearing collars and assless chaps, they are people. People outside, on the street, at an event that is all about advocating for your rights and freedoms and safety, in a political climate where that is highly necessary. Would you really rather have less people doing that? 

It’s really just a matter of being pragmatic: After all, Pride isn’t some exclusive membership perk, it’s a protest for human rights. Obviously that’s a „the more, the better“ situation! 

Especially in times where the far-right is growing more powerful and it’s becoming more fashionable to openly hate us again, we really need all hands on deck. So, yeah, you do want the bi wife and her straight husband there, and you want the straight girl with her gay best friend there, and you want the kinky people there, and you want the people in an open relationship there, and you want the teen girls with the fandom-pun protest signs there. You want all of them there. There’s strength in numbers, and why the heck would you want a smaller number of people being loud about supporting your human rights.

She's lost to the injustice system, she's lost to the racist, antiblack, transmisogynistic empire we inhabit and that many, many people benefit from upholding.

This loss is not accidental. It is a tragic reminder of the failures within the carceral system. The lack of adequate mental health resources, combined with negligence and systemic shortcomings in our system, continues to cost lives.

Far too many people are dying at the hands of systems that cause harm rather than healing. Incarceration should never lead to dehumanization. Peaches was a human being. She deserved dignity, respect, compassion, and access to the care she needed.

As we mourn her loss, we also honor her life. Let Peaches’ legacy be a call to action. We must continue advocating for a transformation of our systems of incarceration and for better responses to individuals living with severe mental illness. No one should be forgotten, neglected, or stripped of their humanity. Rest peacefully, Peaches. Your life mattered, your presence was felt, and your memory will forever remain with us.

Good question! (Believe it or not, you're not the only person who was wondering about this.)

So, peri/menopause isn't something only experienced by people who have uteruses. You can even have a uterus and/or ovaries, get them removed, and still experience peri/menopause.

Which is funny, by which I mean, makes it blatantly transmisogynistic, because transfems can experience peri/menopause but are frequently told it "doesn't count" because most transfems don't have a uterus and/or ovaries.

Peri/menopause, much like periods, is largely about estrogen and your general hormone levels. Not necessarily just about whether you have a uterus and/or ovaries.

There's actually a number of transfems who prefer to lower their estrogen doses as they age, as well as transfems whose estrogen levels drop for other reasons, and that can cause what's usually referred to as "menopause symptoms".

Its referred to as "menopause symptoms" in much the same way transfems having periods/PMS/PMDD is referred to as "having symptoms of X" instead of "experiencing X".

By which I mean, they can go through menopause, its just often differently than considered "normal" and the way its talked about is often transphobic.

So far, it seems as if it's not very common but given the fact that's been said about many transfem health related issues that people refuse to study, it's hard to say how common it actually is.

So information on menopause can be useful to transfems, they're just largely excluded from it! Even in discussions of trans people experiencing peri/menopause, unfortunately.
