i think it shows how, during their time in narnia, peter learns to both protect his brother and allow his brother to fight his own battles, and when they return to england, peter is thrown back into the "oh god i have to protect my siblings and not let them get involved" headspace he had during their first few weeks in narnia, and that's why he gets upset with edmund during the fight in england.

based on historical stuff, kids returned home from the country after about 6-9 months, so the pevensies were probably at the professor's home for at LEAST six months, so realistically, they've been back in "regular" society for only a few months. i like to think that they sort of stuck with their narnian ways after returning to professor kirk, and he encouraged that, so it's very, very likely that the pevensies struggled a lot returning to going to school and being around their peers.

so peter returning to his fight or flight mode that he was in when they first went to narnia? that is absolutely a possibility.

so the months they spend with the professor are a mix of staying in their little beloved narnian bubble and recording all their memories and sharing stories, and also relearning english.

lucy and edmund are the two that have the hardest time relearning english. lucy, of course, because narnia is branded on her soul. she's aslan's dear one, speaking narnian is like breathing to her. edmund had to read and write countless contracts, letters, and treaties in narnian, so his brain is wired in the language.

all four pevensies have a little bit of a soft accent for the rest of their lives. no one can pinpoint what exactly the accent is, and it makes no sense to those who know them.

after peter and susan leave, and edmund and lucy are left with their aunt and uncle, they actually go back to speaking to one another in narnian almost exclusively, only using english around their aunt, uncle, and eustace. when they go to narnia with eustace, he doesn't start speaking the language until after he transforms back into a boy, then it's like he's spoken it his entire life.

when peter and susan visit with their parents, they walk in on lucy, edmund, and eustace having a debate on one of the old narnian stories about the golden age, and it's actually comforting for the older pevensies to slip into their main language.

It is hope and love and compassion that saves each character individually, and because of that, the world. Frodo fails in the end, but his acts of compassion from earlier in the story save the day. And even as the world is saved, it is acknowledged that Frodo failed—without judgement, without blame. He fails, and he is still loved.

And like what can happen in the real world, he is still irrevocably changed by his trauma. But there is still hope—he has to leave, but he leaves with the promise of healing, and the promise that his ever-faithful Sam will follow.

Aragorn, Boromir, Frodo, Sam; each and every one of the characters are driven by their love of the people around them and their hope for the future. They cling to that love and hope throughout their trials, and that bears them through.

Of course people are watching it for comfort!!!! Lotr is eternally consistent in its promise, which Sam articulates so clearly in The Two Towers: “Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines, it’ll shine out the clearer.”
