mostly i do god knows what
Sorry, but I'm just trying to comprehend things here. Does being a proship means you normalize dark, taboo, incest etc. in fics?
no. proship literally just means anti censorship and anti harassment. proship does not necessarily mean liking every taboo ship. it does not necessarily mean normalizing any taboo ship.
you can be proship even if you hate every single ship that is taboo. as long as you donât harass or shame real people over fiction, then by the definition, you are proship.
almost every person who is proship has something they dislike, hate, or even find disgusting. the point is not to normalize any of these taboo things. the point is literally to not shame, harass or censor people who enjoy the things they enjoy as long as itâs fiction and no one in real life is harmed.
so when someone who is proship finds a taboo ship they think is disgusting, they either scroll past, mute, or block the source. thatâs all. they donât harass or shame the person who enjoys it. they donât try to normalize it. they just curate their own internet experience. scroll past, mute or block what they donât want to see, mind their own business and let others enjoy whatever fictional things they enjoy.
Which path should he choose?
The path of the warrior, the path of the scholar, or the path of the artist?
he should wander away and have a picnic while he thinks about what path to choose
Great idea! But where should he have the picnic?
Under the tree, or under the old fort?
By the sea, so he can enjoy the sound of the waves
A lovely choice!
Should he build a sandcastle to pass the time? Or perhaps go fishing?
Perhaps he could collect shells he finds interesting
Sounds fun!
Which shell should he pick up?
This one
That's not a shell, it's a tiny earpiece.
Should he listen to music? Or to the mysterious pre-recorded message?
He should give it back to the crab in the largest shell, they thought they had lost their wave-pod and are grateful he found it!
The crab wants to give a gift in return.
Should he accept the gift of power, or the gift of knowledge?
the gift of friendship :)
Friendship acquired!
Should they celebrate with pizza or ice cream?
The crab friend cannot eat either of those! Let's split a nice seaweed salad instead. :)
So many options!
Should they get tossed salad, wiggly salad, or spiky salad?
Seasar salad
Nothing beats getting it straight from the source
Should they use scissors or claws to cut the seaweed?
What about that sword in the first panel?
The circle is complete.
Through choices, friendship, and salad, he found his way to the path of the warrior. But he won't walk it alone.
Their path is just beginning, but this story is over.
Thank you to everyone who participated!
This is somehow both the epitome and antithesis of "yes, and" and it FASCINATES me
"No, and"
My son's response:
i liked it so much like how you went with what they said even though it was'nt one of the intended options and how it went full circle and it was great
I agree!

Do it scared but please don't do it hungry. Please don't do it dehydrated. It's gonna make it so much scarier. Please.
you should get a second evening for reading fan fiction. And you should get an extra day in the week to do arts and crafts.
Goths aren't "true to seed" in the sense that the biological offspring of two goths do not necessarily grow up to be goth, though inheriting the inclination for it from both parents increases the odds significantly. That is not how goths naturally reproduce.
The process is actually quite sophisticated, and requires the presence of a full-grown goth to trigger it. A pupal-stage proto-goth, at this point completely indistinguishable from any other small human child, only needs to encounter a mature specimen once - and while the initial imprinting that ensues will only take seconds, the incubation period often takes more than a decade, even several.
The first visible step of the transformation is triggered when the dormant goth suddenly gains awareness that they have free will and can do whatever they want with their appearance. While the progress may be gradual, or seem like the transformation happened all at once overnight, the initial seed was planted years ago. And now, in full bloom, a fully-fledged mature adult goth may finally be happy.
And that's why it's important to sometimes look goth as fuck in the grocery store. You might be seen by small child who had previously hoped to die before adulthood because everything they've heard about becoming a grownup is just pure misery, who will then consequently think to themselves "actually nevermind, that's what I want to be when I grow up."
One of the many benefits of being weird in public is possibly saving -- and definitely improving -- a stranger's life without ever knowing.
This is also one of the ways people become transgender.
i....found a rare shoegaze tape. legit. band does not exist online. tape is at least 20 years old. This is so Sam
rare tape.
ok ok....track for you from rare tape. ripped by me
I HAVE SOURCED MORE INFO!!!! from my friend who works at an nz audio archive and they HAVE THE TAPE THERE? COVER:
Final info ive put together after i have just looked over the insert notes (inside the other tape) sent to me by my friend:
This band had Steven Wells and Andrew Bain in it - they went on to be in a pretty popular NZ rock band called Fur Patrol from late 90s-2000s, so this is a precursor to that. in the notes they also thank Campbell Kneale, a prolific underground nz musician in bands like Birchville Cat Motel and Black Boned Angel. they also thank "Drinkwater".
alright everyone. after 33k+ notes on an obscure 90s indie song from Aotearoa i gotta admit many want to hear the rest, & as i cant think of a better format to supply this, here's the rest of the tape in this post. please let it stay here where it needs to be, don't spread it like its yours. its not mine either! i now present to you: Clayflower - Still (1993, Aotearoa, Cassette, Shoegaze/Indie Rock)
beautiful and cool obscure music like this is everywhere if you just wanna look for it even for a few minutes. dont let yourself think someone has to come along and show it to you <3
100,000 notes i shut the whole damn thing down. do u wanna contribute to that?

That cat is 100% on the team
For anyone wondering, the PhD student's name is Myra Cheng.
Here's a link to an article about the study from the Stanford Report: link.
Across three preregistered studies, participants interacting with sycophantic AI became more convinced of their own rightness and less willing to repair relationships. Yet at the same time, participants rated sycophantic AI models as higher quality, more trustworthy, and more desirable for future use, which may explain why this behavior has persisted despite its harmful impacts.
Myra Cheng et al. "Sycophantic AI decreases prosocial intentions and promotes dependence." Science 391, eaec8352 (2026).
Perhaps Iâm being dramatic, but it almost feels as though the original phrasing (that I see being reflected quite heavily in the comments) focuses on Chengâs inspiration from AI-generated breakup texts. The article goes much further than that; Cheng and her team clearly spent time acquiring data and then processing it to tell the story of how AI-dependence is fundamentally shifting how people interact with others. This change in human interactions didnât happen overnight. We are witnessing a fundamental shift in how we interact with other people and a simultaneous diminishing of how long people will spend on any given task. Focusing in on the more click-worthy problem of breakup texts overlooks the underlying issue that, after being discovered, can actually influence policy change as Cheng discusses
You know how wealthy people turn into stupid arseholes by surrounding themselves with vapid yes-men? ChatGPT is vapid yes-men on tap. Now you, too, can subject yourself to the phenomenon that we've all long known turns people into giant toddlers who are impossible to deal with.
this is from a "manipulation advice" video and it's just so fucking funny to me. why didn't I think of responding to insults like this
I canât remember where I got the information now, but apparently if you stare silently for at least 4 seconds it triggers a feeling of rejection which I donât have to tell you is uncomfortable and makes most people backpedal pretty quickly and awkwardly.
Immediately going concerned/extremely polite always throws people off their game, it's beautiful.
The Quiet Stare Of Disappointment is also super effective, indeed .
My sister and I were walking across a car park.
Random bloke: Maybe if you walked more you wouldnât be so fat
My sister stops dead, stares him in the eye and goes: Is everything alright at home?
Iâve never seen a manâs face turn to horror so fast
We just walked to her car and drove off
The silent stare is so effective. I learned about it in social psychology in undergrad, and have often used it to great effect. Probably the best example is when I went to sign the papers on the car I was buyingâI had already worked out a price and my trade-in with the salesmen the day beforeâand they decided they were going to take $1000 off the value of my trade-in. (I want to emphasize that I was buying a 10+ year old car; I ended up paying $8k total.)
"No," I said. "That doesn't work for me. If you're unwilling to honor the deal we made, I'm not buying a car from you."
Well, they talk for a living. So they talked. Here I am, a young woman on my own, and these two men at the dealership are giving me all the reasons they couldn't possibly honor the deal we made yesterday.
So I sat. I didn't say a word. I just stared at them.
They kept talking, trying to get a reaction out of me. After about 10 seconds, they abandoned all pretense of logical arguments and started hammering pathos. They weren't even buying my old car from me for the dealership; it was a personal favor for which they were using their own hard-earned money to help this poor guy at church who just got out of rehab and his house burned down and his children exploded and his dog left him for another man, etc etc
I didn't say a word. I just stared at them.
They began falling apart. They continued trying to hustle me, but their confidence left them. I think they might have been sweating.
Within five minutes they caved and signed the papers for our original deal.
I have been told for years I am intimidating, and by people who had never even seen me angry. Just in general, intimidating. This absolutely baffled me until a friend one day pointed at me and said â âThis! Right now! Youâre being intimidating!â
Friends, I was staring silently at someone while inwardly flailing desperately to come up with a response to something theyâd said that wasnât overly rude but also was holding my ground. In my mind, I was being hellishly awkward. I couldnât summon any charm, I couldnât figure out a sentence to string together. Silence spooled out horrifyingly between us as I got farther and farther away from being articulate and became more and more flustered by this failure to respond. From the outside, I guess, I just looked like a stone cold bitch waiting for them to get their shit together, lol.
I still donât think Iâm intimidating but you know Iâll take it.
Finnglas are you Murderbot
Sir! There are children on this app! đ
I literally canât understand in-universe why the Jin like actually killed Wen Qing and didnât fakeout kill her too. They have a high-ranking well respected member of the Wen family in captivity, someone who is a doctor and honestly a medical genius who is willing to try and test unorthodox theories and they KILL HER?????? You have her brother also in captivity, thatâs wonderful incentive to have her do what you want!!! Especially if youâre going to try and reverse engineer the yin tiger tally. It is astronomically stupid to not blackmail her into doing crazy shit for you
