Angels of Pride!
I loved their outfits!! They’re all so cute, so I couldn’t help it. This is just a quick thing, but I really want them to interact in the show soon.
Happy Pride! 💙💛🩷
Update on life: i indeed had a fever! I still feel weak but im getting there
‘Hands weaving magnetic-core memory, IBM, Poughkeepsie, New York,’ 1956. Photograph by Ansel Adams.
My mother used to make computer cores as a "work from home" side business. As a child I got spending money via un-winding the ones that failed testing so that the magnetic center could be re-used. I got between $0.05 and $0.25 per core depending. Mom got more for the finished ones, of course, though I don't know how much. Her sister was an expert, and did the more complicated kind, some of which ended up in satellites and/or were used by NASA!
They were all done by hand using a kind of treadle-operated frame with a little (crochet!) hook to pull the wires around the cores. The people making them were mostly housewives who did this as a side-job in the 80s and 90s. I don't know if it's still done that way anywhere in the USA today, but the history of computing and space exploration is littered with "women's work" like this.
Fuck the sun. im dehydratated again
Ok, maybe is not dehydratation and I have a fever

I said it on twitter in a briefly thread but I think it's beautiful how Leon and Claire work, as characters doomed to be separated in the current narrative, not because they want to, but because the world they walked in was cruel to them when they weren't
And they don't want to. Be cruel.
It's poetic how that it's represented in the fence scence of the remake.
Because it's not like Claire and Leon can't see each other, touch each other or talk to each other. The fence is a weak one, filled with holes, the moment the cutscene ends you get the chaincutter so, as a player, your first reaction is to walk back to that fence and try to open the door.
But Claire (or Leon depending if you play B/A routues) is not longer there.
The moment you shared it's something you want to fight for again. Because you feel you can earn it. After hours of dealing with monsters, getting a chaincutter feels so dumb, so nimble. You will get your happy ending?
Until the government happens. Until Leon and Sherry are stripped away from Claire just because she wants to save her brother. Until you realize the fence was weak but you only could defeat it by opening the door.
And for years that door remains closed.
Ashley's abduction. Las Plagas. Wesker. Sherry being used as a weapon (again). Terrasave's corruption. Information leaked in a chip. Rockfort Island. Death Island. Sein Island. Wesker (again). Requiem.
And everytime there's a possibility for either Leon or Claire to turn cruel. Chris already did by Village (but his trust was already broken so many times it was undertandable it was going to backfire one day, Ethan being his requiem).
But Leon and Claire have not. Both of them are fighting to be better in a world that taught them corruption has won: Leon wants to protect the people he loves, even if that means sacrificing himself; Claire wants to become stronger and be that fighter, even if that means sacrificing herself. Similar but not in the same way. Because Leon wants to destroy the corruption using the same resources he has gained. Fire with fire. Meanwhile Claire wants to destroy the corruption with something else, because they took away so much from her. Fire with water.
It was only until Requiem that we saw that Leon didnt believe in fighting any other way until Grace proved him wrong. She was that hope he lost when someone faking to be FBI agent took that hopefulness out of him. That sacrifices aren't necessary and your past mistakes doesn't make you a bad person, just how you learn from them.
He has finally got the chaincutter.
We have yet to see if Claire is also ready to move past the shadow of her penance after failing the family she choose to make and willing to wait past that door or her fears are stronger than her and she remains avoidant of being a burden she never was
I feel like it would help people move on so much faster if they looked at something a person they once considered close did and just went “a friend probably wouldn’t do this to me” . Like actually. A friend would not do this to you .

I have been in the Resident Evil side of twitter for a while and
1. I want to draw Claire
2. I dont exactly like Leon as much as Claire, but the haters are pissing me off, so I would gladly learn to draw him so i can draw Cleon fanart
I get the feeling that Vaggi and Lilith will not get along in the beginning because of their past actions and their different views on what’s best for Charlie. But I know one thing they might have in common!
I’m sure Lilith will eventually find respect and trust for Vaggi, despite her being a former exorcist. As well as understanding that the choices that they’ve made were against their will. Hopefully their relationship as MIL and DIL is not fast paced, I want them to take their time and get used to one another. At least for two seasons, and then eventually working together, having a cool fight scene against Lute in the final season.
free my girl she did all that and that’s what makes her such a compellingly complex character. that’s her essence
irritating as fuck when people get mad at Black people existing in premodern historical fiction/fantasy media. like first of all, you're racist. and second of all, you are acting as though Black people didn't exist in premodern Europe which is simply false. especially when we're talking about the Mediterranean, like what the fuck do you people think is along the southern half of the Mediterranean Ocean?? everyone's on boats, there are GOING to be interactions with Black people in Northern Africa, and there are GOING to be Black people in Mediterranean Europe. stop being stupid. your imagined homogeneous white European past is not historical reality, get over it you massive losers
I’m having a huge problem with liberals not understanding what a “black person” is. Sure there were africans in europe, but those africans were either traveling or enslaved, or people with very special circumstances that you must explain. They weren’t “british”, they weren’t immigrants. You can’t have some character be black and a nobleman from England in the 19th century without giving some context cause yeah that wasn’t the norm.
“Black people existed”, the whole concept of blackness is so new, mentioning it is anachronistic.
And the whole “north africa” argument. North africans were considered white until 2 years ago when the US decided Arabs are not white anymore. Stop it with your fake “inclusion” as if people only exist when they step onto your continent. Write your damn fic in africa. Write about actual african characters, and actual asian characters, they don’t have to step in america/europe to exist.
People who believe that north africans and indians are interchangeable cause “both brown” are telling us to “celebrate the inclusivity”. We are already in our media, we didn’t stop existing cause western media didn’t have “people of color” or whatever other ridiculous term you want to throw at 80% of the frickin globe population.
————
If it’s fantasy explain how this reality is different from the one we’re living in. If it’s “historical” then have it make sense in the historical context. You can’t just have characters “happen to be an ethnicity from a different continent”. That shit was not the norm. Some places in africa still freak out if they see a white person, most chinese people haven’t seen a black person, and you think 18th century Europe was “open”?
Anyway, history exists, read on it or decide to go with a whole different reality and it would be nice to see why in that reality Africa wasn’t plundered by europe and why europeans in that reality considered them equal, or whatever the race situation is in that fictional work. Whatever else you’re doing is a cop out and dumb.
——
I’m gonna stop here cause that whole is so ridiculous.
Octavia E Butler wrote about a time traveling black woman who found herself a century ago and guess what, she was taken as a slave. Cause that’s the fuckin context of history.
Ok stopping now.
PS: read an actual book that was written before 1930, not “historical fiction released in the 2020s” and read how the europeans spoke about non-europeans. Like get a clue about reality before throwing your 2 cents.
racist with a Harry Potter blog in 2026? fork found in kitchen
you don't know what the fuck you're talking about. you are simply incorrect. there were Black Ethiopian Christian monks in the middle ages. there were Black people in medieval Scandinavia. there were Black people in Ancient Greece and Rome (attested in literature). There were Black people in al-Andalus. there was regular contact with both Black and Arab populations in Africa, and there were Black and Arab people traveling to Europe, prior to the inception of chattel slavery, which you seem to think is when Black people started existing.
"the concept of blackness is new" "read something prior to the 1930s" okay! I have! I am a fucking medievalist who is nearly done with a PhD, I have read more premodern literature that includes Black people and POC in it, including FROM AFRICA, than you probably know even exists! the concept of Blackness is not new, actually! nor is the concept of race! there is a whole field of premodern critical race studies which, in my field, has done a lot of work for DECADES to illustrate how the concept of Blackness functioned in medieval European literature. there are Black knights in Arthuriana. there's a Black Magi and also the Queen of Sheba in religious literature. there are Black knights in a variety of medieval Arabic epics from all over the fucking place. fuck's sake, Black people show up in Isidore of Seville and Pliny and allllll sorts of encyclopedic literature! maybe check out some work by Kim F. Hall or Cord Whitaker or Rachel Schine, etc., etc., so you're not just talking out of your fucking ass!
you are just so hilariously misinformed about every single point you are trying to make (Black people can't exist in FANTASY??? where shit is 100% made up and there are dragons and magic???? be fucking serious. and I'm not even going to touch on how incredibly poorly you're reading Kindred, learn to think critically and stop misappropriating the work of Black authors to prop up racist fucking arguments) that I'm just gonna recommend you do some serious learning instead of opening your mouth to be racist and wrong online. do better.
“We need more complex female characters!” Y’all can’t even handle marinette dupain-cheng

I also know Thailand and Sri Lanka have their versions of a lungi as well.
