The adult's Conscious Decision to be Daddy's boy
In 2026, almost every relationship we see modeled is supposed to be perfectly equal: two adults, two votes, two captains steering the ship. Thatâs the ideal weâre all told to chase. Yet some of usâgrown men with jobs, bills, and opinionsâquietly look at our partner and think, âDaddy, I want You to be in charge. Iâll love, honor, and yesâŚObey you.â
I don't stand in The Corner because I can't leave.
That last word still makes most people flinch.
It sounds like something out of a collar-and-leash dynamic, something that belongs in a dungeon or a 1950s movie, not in a house with a mortgage and two cars in the driveway. But for most adult boys who seek loving, long-term Daddy/boy relationshipsâespecially the ones built with Domestic DisciplineâObedience in a DD relationship has nothing to do with slavery, groveling, or losing your personhood. Itâs something much simpler, and in many ways much braver: itâs the choice to let one man be the final word so the relationship can have clear direction and genuine peace.
I don't want to say "the last word" is "submission" like, "I don't want us to engage in testicle torture," and then Daddy just does as he pleases. The DD relationship requires a back-and-forth, unlike other forms of pairings. And in that sense, it seems fairly unique. Consent of the boy is the starting point, and it loosens from there; not the other way around.
Obedience Isnât About Being Less-Than
First, letâs get one thing straight: an adult boy is not a doormat.
Heâs not a servant,
Not a pet, and
Definitely not a slave.
Heâs a full-grown man who has looked at the chaos of two equals trying to lead at the same time and decided, âYou know what? I donât want to fight about every decision. I donât want to keep score. I trust this Man enough to let Him steer, and Iâm strong enough to stand behind that choice.â
Obedience, in this context, isnât surrender of your manhood. Itâs thoughtful, engaged delegation of it. Youâre still competent, still capable, still the same guy who can fix the garbage disposal and negotiate a raise at work. Youâre just saying, âAt the end of the day, when we disagree, Iâll follow your lead. And if it doesn't work out, I'll respectfully approach Daddy to try another approach.â Thatâs not weakness; thatâs maturity and courage.
When a Grown Man Agrees to be Disciplined by His Daddy
Why Would a Grown Man Choose This?
Because it works.
Two equals can spend years locked in low-grade power strugglesâwho takes out the trash, whose family we visit for Thanksgiving, how late is âtoo lateâ to come home without texting. When one person is clearly in charge, those fights evaporate. The boy doesnât have to guess what Daddy wants.
The Rules are known.
The boy doesnât have to worry heâs being taken advantage of. The same man who makes The Rules with you is the one who enforces them and, when necessary, warms your backside to keep you accountable within the relationship.
Thereâs real peace in that approach. After a long day of being a competent adult in the real world, a lot of us want to come home, hand the reins to someone we trust, and justâŚlive in a peaceful place.
And to gain that peace, well, that requires Obedience.
Talk Softly and Carry a Big Stick; You Will Go Far
If you want peace in a vanilla relationship, you can hope your partner will abide by unspoken understandings and hope, or you can get in a non-vanilla relationship and be with a Man who talks softly but also carries The Big Stick. This West African proverb "Talk softly but carry a Big Stick; you will go far," is really meaningful to me and really to anyone in a Domestic Discipline relationship.
Making sure your boy can see The Big Stick
boys like us are basically trusting in the Daddy we choose to not only carry The Big Stick, but also to talk softly with us unless The Big Stick is needed. Hereâs what separates this from any kind of slave-like dynamic: the boy can end it at any time.Â
No locked doors, no financial control, no physical limitation in a dungeon. The moment the boy says, âThis isnât working for me anymore,â a loving Daddy sits down, listens, and adjustsâor lets him go. Someone ball-gagged in a cage, really cannot do that, no matter how willing that player is.
Freedom is What Makes Obedience Meaningful
That freedom is what makes the Obedience meaningful. Every morning the boy wakes up and choosesâagain, each and every dayâto live with Daddyâs authority. Some days itâs easy. Some days itâs hard as hell, like when youâre bone-tired and still have to ask permission to have that third beer or accept being Punished for snapping at Him earlier. But because itâs chosen, not forced, those hard moments become proof of commitment instead of proof of captivity.
How It Looks in Real Life
The boy probably has his own job and pays his own bills.
He still votes, still has strong opinions, still tells Daddy when he thinks a House Rule is dumb.
When push comes to shove, he yields, saying, âOkay, Sir, weâll do it Your way.â
And when he messes upâwhen he forgets The Rules or lets his temper get the best of himâhe takes the consequences like a boy: over Daddyâs knee, 'pants down, accepting that The Spanking is a natural outgrowth of the healthy relationship they have chosen.
Thatâs not groveling.
There's no yelling and screaming and complaining that Daddy is a lousy partner. (Unless he is, in which case you either break up or fix that). This approach provides accountability with affection behind it. Even when that affection comes with a red and sore behind.
Three Examples of Obedience in Daddy/Adult Boy Scenarios In a Daddy/adult boy dynamic rooted in Domestic Discipline, Disobedience can result in Daddy bringing out "The Big Stick" â like a sound Spanking or other consequences â when The Rules are broken. This fact agreed to ahead of time means being prepared to enforce boundaries, so you can better create a space of peace and structure for your boy. You just need to look at the current political climate to see how a lack of Rules and enforced boundaries can lead to chaos from the Top down and from the bottom up.
Peace through strength in your DD relationship will be your North Star.
It may take time to get there, but it's a star worth following. Here are three everyday scenarios illustrating Obedience in action, and what happens when it's lacking.
1. Household Chores and Daily Routines
The boy shows Obedience by following Daddy's established Rules, like completing assigned choresâsay, washing the dishes right after dinner without being reminded. This keeps the home running smoothly and demonstrates respect for the Rules you and Daddy set down. If the boy slacks off, perhaps leaving the kitchen a mess after a long day, Daddy is empowered to address it calmly but decisively: a quiet conversation first like "We talked about this, boy".
If that's not words enough to move the boy to action, Daddy has the authority to follow with a sound Spanking to reinforce The Rules. After the chores are completed, there's always room for a hug or reassurance, turning the moment into a reset rather than resentment.
2. Communication and Check-Ins During Outings
The boy demonstrates his Obedience when he keeps Daddy informed about his whereabouts, such as texting upon arriving at a friend's place or checking in if plans change during a night out. For some, this can become controlling. It's critical that Daddy not abuse this authority. Instead, properly carried out, the boy's duty to Daddy builds trust and ensures safety in their shared life without constant oversight. Â
If the boy Disobeys by forgetting to update Daddyâmaybe getting caught up in the fun and going radio silent for hoursâDaddy has the authority to step in with his "Big Stick" skills. He might start with a serious phone call balling out his boy and telling him to come home early. He might enforce a Punishment like writing lines ("I will always check in with Daddy") 50 times or losing phone privileges for the evening. If this is a repeated problem, it's probably best to follow these Punishments with a bare-bottom Spanking.
The focus is on learning better habits ending with a discussion either verbally or over the knee about why communication matters.
3. Personal Habits and Self-Improvement
The boy Obeys by adhering to Daddy's Rules for healthy habits, like going to bed by a set time to avoid burnout, showing commitment to their mutual well-being. Let's be clear, Daddy cannot have this Rule without abiding by it himself. However, the boy's Obedience to a healthy routine creates harmony, and lets Daddy nurture without constant nagging. Â
When Obedience failsâsay, the boy stays up late scrolling on his phone, leading to a grumpy morningâDaddy is empowered to enforce consequences. Again, remind the boy of The Rule, then a trip over Daddy's knee for a handSpanking or worse if it's a repeated breaking of The Rules, helping the boy realign with their shared goals. This should help reinforce that affection comes with responsibilities to the greater good of the relationship.
Domestic Discipline offers a variety of Disciplinary Tools that the two men can tailor to the situation and the couple's agreements. Since it's always consensual but aimed at correction rather than harm, Spankings aren't the only solution. These alternatives can include Cornertime or Timeouts; writing assignments like essays on why The Rule that was broken matters, mouth soaping for backtalk, mouthing off, lying, etc.; loss of privileges (e.g., no gaming, no phone for the rest of the night, no outings for a day); to much kinkier approaches including Punishment enemas, butt plugging, and more.
And as always, Spanking Tools can be used to escalate the Punishment, depending on severity of the boy's misbehavior. Fundamentally, the key is that Daddy chooses based on what's effective and loving, not punitive excess. Everything is discussed well before any behavior that needs correcting arises, to ensure it fits the boy's needs and boundaries. Why This Differs from Master/servant or Master/slave Dynamics What sets a Daddy/adult boy relationship apart from Master/servant or Master/slave setups is the foundation of equality in choice and the absence of total power exchange. In the Daddy/boy world, the boy gives Obedience freely every day, rooted in affection and trust rather than obligation or ownership. This might look much like trusting a partner who "talks softly but carries The Big Stick" to maintain peace without constant conflict.
Unlike a slave, the boy remains an autonomous adult who just lives as Daddy's boy: he can voice opinions, negotiate Rules, and walk away anytime if it no longer feels right, with no barriers. Financial dependency, physical restraint do not hold him back. There's no "slave contract" implying permanent subjugation; instead, it's an open structure where Daddy's authority is grounded in agreed-upon goal posts, always balanced by emotional support and the boy's ability and willingness to Obey. In contrast, Master/servant or Master/slave dynamics often involve a deeper, more encompassing power imbalance, where the submissive might relinquish broader controlâsometimes including finances, daily decisions, or even the right to end the dynamic without negotiation. Elements like collars, cages, or protocols can symbolize ownership, and the "servant" or "slave" role might not emphasize the same level of mutual nurturing or easy exit.
In the Daddy/boy dynamic, the boy doesn't choose to be diminished in these ways. And Daddy's not per se elevated, although as a boy myself, I gotta admit, I love elevating my Daddy and making him feel the special Man he is in my life. boys find empowerment by choosing to follow, knowing Daddy's "Big Stick" is a Spanking Tool for guidance, not domination, ensuring the relationship stays healthy and voluntary.
Handling the Outside Noise
People will likely misunderstand. I think that's why most of us do not share that we live this lifestyle with other non-Daddy/boy people. Some will think the boy is weak. Others will think Daddy is a control freak. Your egalitarian friends might try to stage an intervention over brunch! Smile, and say, âWeâve found what works for us,â and change the subject. You donât owe anyone a defense of your private life.
Inside the relationship, the only two opinions that matter are the boy's and Daddyâs. Regular check-ins keep you guys honest, âAre you still happy being in charge?â âDo I still feel safe and respected following your lead?â As long as the answer is yes, the rest of the world can keep scrolling.
Your friends who are in "equal" relationships might try to stage an intervention over brunch. My only advice is to smile, and say, âWeâve found what works for us,â and change the subject. You donât owe anyone a defense of your private life.
To Every adult boy Wondering If This Makes Sense
If you lie awake at night wishing someone would just take the wheel in a relationship with youâif you feel a deep sense of rightness when you call your friend âSirâ and mean itâif the thought of being held accountable (sometimes with a very sore bottom) makes you feel safer, not smallerâthis path is yours to walk.
Youâre not broken. Youâre not failing to live in today's "real" world. Quite the opposite: you are taking charge of shaping it. Youâre not betraying the gains of equality. You are proactively choosing inequality to meet your own needs, wants, and desires.
Youâre a grown man who looked at that various ways to love and decided the greatest gift you can give The Man you like (or think you could grow to love) is your trust, your respect, and yesâyour Obedience.
And every time you choose Obedience, especially on the days itâs hard, you prove just how strong a boy you really are. Make Daddy smile that his little champ is the best boy in town.
And know, that when you're not, Daddy can make you into the best boy you can be!
Dear Readers,
I've begun writing a "handbook" on Daddy/boy Domestic Discipline. I'd love to have your input. I would love to hear particularly from:
1. boys who are currently in or have been in Dom/sub or Daddy/boy relationships where Corporal Punishment plays an important role.
or
2. Daddys who discipline boys and have had or try to cultivate Daddy/boy relationships.
Your intel is critical for this book being meaningful! Either comment in this blogpost's comment section or email me (see the links below)!

Back in July 2012, I shared with you all a really impactful group Spanking that had totally rocked my world with three other boys, one of whom was boyadam. Up until this interview below, I hadnât seen hide-nor-hair of him. Then I began to hear about some boy with a Recon profile that was beginning to light up the boy-o-sphere. A fellow blogger friend of mine was communicating with some boy in his twenties who sounded too good to be true.
Just Two boys Talkin Shop: What It's Like Being an adult boy for us
Now, I'm not one to complain, but there is a noticeable divide in the Daddy/boy Spanking world of those who want to Spank only young hairless bottoms, and then everyone else. For a broad swath of Daddys there is no concern at all, but because boyadam is young and boyish, there has been quite some interest from Daddys I know. As odd as it may seem, I'm really not into "looks" in the world of Spanking. I want the boys who get Spanked with me to look however they look; I donât care if theyâre super good looking or boyish or older or heavy or whatever.
In fact it feels more real to me, if we are just a bunch of ordinary boys with our 'pants yanked down gettin our bottoms paddled by Daddys who aren't happy with our behavior. So anyways, it came to pass that I began to realize just who this boyadam was. He was that Recon boy! I had never really considered that I already had been in a terrific, amazing, memorable group Spanking with him back in July! Thanks to the fact that boyadam is such a cool buddy, he has turned out to be willing to talk here with Cornertime Confidential. Heâs always in need of Spankings â and particularly Cornertime or âCorner time (!!!)â as he spelled out to me in his email â like those of us who consider ourselves aficionados of Daddy/boy Spankings. I'm super thrilled to bring you this interview with a boy who has been exploring the world of Domestic Discipline.
My Life as a boy: adam and jake talk shop
Thanks, boyadam, for taking the time to talk with Cornertime Confidential. As you know this blog is a place for as much candor as possible, so thanks for being super honest here. We're gonna get into some tough areas here, stuff that's hard to admit to others, and I'm glad you are feeling you can share your thoughts.
boyadam Kewl. I'm just glad to be here and texting with you.
jake Your responses in our texts and emails over the past week or so have been real food for thought for me, too.
Made me realize that I don't particularly like to analyze my interests very much. In a way, I almost avoid analyzing things because it tends to take the "charge" out of these CP experiences for me. But I think you touched on areas the Cornertime Confidential blog should cover. A reader asked me recently if I'd go into a blog post about the psychology behind the CP experience for me. I realized after sitting on this question for a couple of months now, that I'm hesitant to do so. This discussion with you might be a way in.
Do you find that thinking about and analyzing the psychology behind our mutual interests can emasculate the power behind the experience for you? Do you discuss this with many other boys or Men Who Spank?
boyadam Not for me, no. I find that the more I talk openly about my deep Spanking interest, the more comfortable I get with myself and my interest in being Spanked. I find that the more I talk about my experience and voice my desire, the more I solidify what Iâm looking forâI start to better understand myself and that is always a good thing.
In previous posts on the blog, Iâve used the word âageplay.â But in fact, I hate using the word "ageplay," and don't want to use that word. Itâs really âadultâ and not my kind of language at all.
What do you call what you do with Daddys? For the interview, I want to call it "adult boyhood" behavior or something like that. Any ideas?
boyAdam I think adult boyhood works well with what Iâm looking for too. An escape from adulthood. One Version of Adult Boyhood In Action
I love that. Thatâs a great way to look at it. An escape from adulting. Itâs definitely what Iâm up to. And yo, dear Daddy readers, please reach out if there are any of you who want to help me explore my adult boyhood!!!! ;-) Where were we? Oh yeah, from back in July, I'm remembering you in a jockstrap at the SpankDC party. I think that jockstraps makes boys into more of a teenager, more into being a teen.
Are you? I don't get that from the adult boy that I met that day. How do you identify?
boyadam When I am being Spanked, I usually revert back to around 8-12. This is where I am most comfortable. However, it's really important to me that I remain grounded in reality during these experiences and do not shift into roleplay â roleplay can be fun at times, but it is definitely not what I am interested in. I usually hesitate to give an age, because it's more about the feeling of helplessness than being a certain age. In life, I don't really conceive of myself as an adult boy but instead as a busy adult who needs time away from responsibility and control. For me, the best way to do this is to have someone help me regress in age and forget about all of the adult stuff swimming around in my head.
I totally feel ya there.
Totally. As I was telling you over text, I'm all about being an 8â12 year old boy. That takes two different forms, for me: 8-years-olds are old enough to know right from wrong, but don't care, and misbehave and get Spanked because it's effective to teach them lessons and 12-year-olds are misbehaving and using bad language, that makes it easier for Daddys to, for example, wash their mouths out with soap. 24/7 Life as an 8-year-old Adult Boy I think CP for an actual 8-year-old would be weird, because, really, what's the worst thing that an 8-year-old could actually say? Washing a boy's mouth out with soap seems age-appropriate. Also I don't believe in smacking an adult boy upside the head for language, because I think that seems like abuse if you're an 8â12 year old.
boyadam I donât know, really. I like the dynamics of another man taking control and allowing me to just be his responsibility; being regressed to boyhood feels natural, relaxing, and rejuvenating. For me, it's incredibly liberating and relaxing to be age regressed, when I find the right partner who knows how to help boys like me.
"Age regressed." I like the way you used that in what you said just now. That's a really helpful way to look at it, because the Daddy/boy experience becomes more of an experience, not just a Spanking. It's time for Daddy to take you from a stressed out adult to a little boy, his little boy. Well, maybe not little. Middle. Yeah, middle. I'm a "middle!" I'm Daddy's middle boy!
boyadam I had to grow up too fast as a kid and now work in an extremely competitive and stressful environment and having someone help me to shuck that anxiety off is so incredible.
I want to take us back to the July party in DC if I may. I guess we were in a public place, so, you being in the jockstrap your Daddy put you in was probably just super helpful to keep our boy parts out of the way. jockstrap age regression for the adult boy And maybe it helps keep your head in a regressed age range âsort of a âwhatâs going on down there isnât the important part?â I think for boys, itâs whatâs going on upstairs, not in their crotches that create the fire. What do you think?
boyAdam Absolutelyâpart of this for me, too, is all about submitting and giving up complete control to another person. To do that, decreasing the focus on my sexual needs and increasing the focus on his role as Daddy is one way I think I can best step into the appropriate mindset.
What other the triggers hook you into adult boyhood? boys briefs? Underoos? PJs? And what kind of Spanking Sticks do your Daddys use on you that work best to get you into the adult boyhood mindset? Leather? Belts? Paddles?
boyAdam: "When playing, I like all kinds of tools and experiences to help me give up control. Clothing is incredibly important to me as it helps differentiate who is the boy and who is the dad. Briefs/underoos, diapers, plastic pants, pjs, boy clothes, and The Hairbrush usually do the trick." Other experiential elements like Cornertime (!!!), bath time, mouth soapings, and early bedtimes work. Other ways to help me relinquish control is having Daddy order from the menu for me, having to sit at the boy's table rather than with the adults, language and behavior restriction (requiring descriptors to be used like 'Daddy', 'bottom', 'pee-pee', 'heinie', etc â words 'adult men' would never use; behavior restrictions like only being allowed to sit down to pee, asking for permission, etc).
You and I are like totally on exactly the same page there, boyohboy. I absolutely concur. One of my favorite things lately is having all Adults (Men Who Spank or are in charge of me) order for me at restaurants, have me ask for permission to get up from the table, and control things like when itâs time for bathtime or sleeptime or "that chat." I love the way it puts Daddy in charge naturally, rather than as if we're in a "scene." He can set the scene as we go around town and the like. Dont think I wont spank you again if you need it Having "That Chat" One of my new adult boy buddies here in town has a full time partner who is not really into Spanking. But his Daddy is a trooper! And he's been willing to take us out to dinner as if he's my buddyâs real Daddy (I am supposed to remember to always call him âMr. Fergusonâ), and I'm the next door neighbor kid. His boy and Mr. Ferguson do the ordering. I sit there and just talk like boys do right through the waitress ordering. Mr. Ferguson knows what we like to eat, so he doesn't need to ask us anything, usually anyways. And when the lady comes to take our order, I spend my time thinking, âI wonder what she is thinking when she walks up to our table.â I'm often decked out in a DC Comics t-shirt and very boyish bottoms and shoes and socks on these outings. It's super kewl doing things like this. No one really knows what's going on, but boyohboy, me, my buddy, and Mr. Ferguson sure do!
BTW, do you call your Disciplinarians "Daddy"? "Sir"? Something else?
boyAdam I refer to them however they want. âDaddy,â however, is usually off limits unless I find someone I really trust and can model that role for me.
I think given where you live, your opportunities might be limited to get into really creative age regression; I think in DC, LA, SF, NY, Chicago, London, Paris, Berlin, etc. it's a lot easier to find ways to explore this. I hope I'm not sounding judgey there. Since here you are into age regression, tell me how you navigate that. For example, I'm into two different kinds of adult boyhood:
1. Using Infantile Discipline to Keep Boys in Line
2. Over the past year, I also have been getting into having Daddys treat me like a baby if I act like one and cry and carry on....which I do a lot, anyways.
So, last weekend in NY, for example, my Daddy John paddled me several times in both the living room after our day our when I got lost in the department store and then later the next night in my bedroom before bedtime. And instead of just Spanking me, I got put into pull-ups and plastic training pants (!)
He did that with the warning, and just said, "jake, if you insist on acting like a baby, I'm going to treat you like a baby." I had to stand in The Corner in my pull ups and plastic pants for what seemed like hours in front of the other boys who were in the house (there were 2 other boys staying there for a big party that was in the Manhattan). Then when I got paddled at night for misbehaving during bathtime, Daddy dressed me for bed and made me wear a kewl diaper and plastic pants to bed. And he said, there was going to more trouble in store, if he found that I hadn't slept in them all night long. Treating you like a baby if you act like one. Does either of those scenarios fit into your Adult Boyhood?
boyAdam I am much more of the mindset that I should be treated like a baby when I act like a baby. During play, I like reality to be firm and for the Dom to recognize that I am a grown man who is being regressedâthis is more humiliating and really underscores the power exchange taking place. I am an adult that needs to be treated like a little boy on the weekends to really engage at my full potential. I am ultimately looking for someone who understands that and can help me structure my life. Similar to the first question, I don't really feel like a little boy in life... maybe more in my "boyheart?" cornertime with teddy Yes, you can Hold Your Bear I am naturally submissive around other men (especially partners), and I have a high amount of anxietyâhaving someone relieve me of that anxiety and allow me to give up all control to them is really gratifying. For me, age regression is a great way to do this and still receive a lot of intimacy. Age regression allows me to be intimate in ways that I don't experience a lot outside of this time and it's really fulfilling. The deeper someone can take me into this the betterâI love sleeping in diapers and PJs (great for cuddling), and quite enjoy being expected to use the diapers as well (ultimate loss of control as I become truly dependent on someone else and get to hand over all responsibility). The added humiliation of having other Daddys and boys witness the age regression taking place is wonderful; I've only experienced this a few times. Your experience sounds great! btw, I would love to be put in diapers/pull ups with you!
Oh boy I'd love that too! It's a great place to be mentally, even if it can feel uncomfortable and constricting. We spend our whole young lives trying to get away from the restrictions and Rules of our parents, and then you and I find ourselves happy when a Daddy comes along who can put us in our place! Crazy!
boyadam I think it's wonderful! I feel lucky when it happens.
I'm glad my hunch was rightâwhen Daddy Ross and Mr. Brad Spanked us so soundly at the party in JulyâI had a hunch you thought the "added humiliation" of being "age regressed" in front of so many Men Who Spank and other boys was an incredible, out of this world experience. It made such a difference taking the experience from a simple Spanking at a get together and turning it into a complete, out-of-body experience. Standing there with our noses against the wall, hearing you get your Spanking, I could feel it as if I were in your shoes! Really! I think humiliation in front of others puts me, as an adult boy, in the odd and exciting position of being almost out-of-body, seeing the whole Punishment as it happens in real time. Something like this happened to me when Daddy Ron (you know him, he's from the Chicago area like you!) paddled me at the Manhunt Mansion in Boston after I met you in July. All those other Men and boys watching me being punished in the living room, while they were getting pizza by the pool, listening to music, watching TV. The sound of this boy being Spanked (i.e., me!) didnât really interrupt or change the dynamic of the place at all. A lot of guys were totally not sticking around to watch. A lot apparently did, but a lot just figured, âOh, thereâs another brat, getting his Spankin.â Even though the location made it impossible for anyone who went through there not to experience another boy being Spanked by his Daddy, it being such a big house made it easy. Next party that they do there, you really should come. Itâs a cool experience for boys like us. Have you ever been to Spankings in peopleâs houses. I know thereâs a Spanking event that happens in Chicago monthly. Do you go to those? Have you been to others? Tell me about your experiences in these group settings. boyadam I would love to go to that partyâIâve heard a lot of great things. The first group setting I was ever in was the DC party and that was actually the last. Looking forward to experiencing that again. jake Share with me other experiences that have held special resonance or meaning for you.
boyadam I have a pretty good friend Iâve met through the scene that I often meet when driving back and forth from my parentâs house in another state and back to school. Heâs a younger Daddy, and he has really helped me to feel more comfortable in my own skin when it comes to accepting this part of myself. From Errant Son, Thanks for Getting me the Original pic!** A recent experience that Iâve had and really enjoyed with yet another Daddy Iâve met in the scene occurred a few weeks back. After a long handSpanking over his knee, he told me to stand up and âMarch [my] little heinie over to The Corner!â Once positioned there, he told me he had to make a phone call for work and he proceeded to call a colleague and talk business right there while I stood in The CornerâI felt like a real little guy that night. My Spanking continued as soon as he was off the phone.
Are there any actual boyhood memories that your adult boyhood taps into? For me there definitely is. I grew up with a very traditional American Dad and Mom, so our home life was arranged that way. Four children, one paddle, no lip. What's your background and how did that come to pass. I think youâre from a generation that didnât have paddling or Spankings in the home or in schools. How do you think all this got started for you?
boyadam I honestly have no idea. I really do think that part of it for me is that I grew up without a really strong male figure in my life who was around a lotâI think I missed out on the experience of having a real Dad growing up. Getting to know and be mentored by older guys just seems to fill a void. I like the different kind of intimacy with an older man that doesnât have to involve sex at allâitâs comforting. As far as the Spanking goes, I couldnât tell you. Iâve always had a streak for the need to be humiliated since I was youngerâa little humiliation has always been wrapped up in my sexual fantasies, and so I think my curiosity just happened naturally.
Daddy's bad boy. Well, I guess there you have it! I was raised with a really, really powerful male figure in the household. He was totally the Head of the Household , and yet I'm in this world as well. As mentioned at the top of this blog post, a reader asked me a question Iâd hoped to answer â what is the psychological basis for you being in these adult boy shoes? And I had no idea how to answer. Now, re-reading this interview with you, I realizeâit doesn't appear to be connected in the least. You grew up in a world without Spankings, and you thrive living in your adult boyhood. I grew up in a world with Spankings, and I'm into precisely the same experience! How utterly random, incongruous, and wonderful. Thanks so much, adam, for taking the time with me to swap stories, share memories, and think through our lives as adult boys.
boyadam I really loved getting to talk this out! ______________________________________
**An extra for those who have gotten this far in the post: I posted this story originally with a pic I'd downloaded from SouthSpanking.com. In the image the words southspanking.com were embedded. The boy who is being punished during the "talking to" emailed me and gave me a heads up: **"Thanks for the compliment. I agree. It's one of my favorite Spanking photos...I feel privileged that I happen to be in it! The pic is a few years old. I was being Spanked alongside another boy who snapped it while he was "on a break." No need to list any source to the photo. I just didn't like it being misrepresented."

"One of my favourite pairs of shorts are these authentic school shorts from Woolworths in South Africa. They are light, unlined shorts for the Summer and very comfortable. "However, when paired with tight, white jockey y-fronts, they do not offer a lot of protection from the cane. Which makes bending over for a beating an authentically memorable experience."
I loved this post I read recently. In just a few simple sentences, it's the story of life as an adult schoolboy!
You have tight white pants and then thin grey shorts and the mix is a pointless venture against The Cane. There's all the parts in between that are for the reader to imagine:Â
(1) the trip to Woolworths in South Africa to get a pair of these shorts,Â
(2) the tight underpants that also had to be purchase and tried on, and approved,Â
(3) The Man who wields The Cane across this schoolboy's bottom.Â
So much to imagine that this boy lives with!
So cool....when you read his post, what does your mind go to?

When you are Daddy's boy, he may expect you to get more than a red bottom. As one who has been well-whipped as a Daddy's adult son, I came home from a week of travel this week, and found that this was my "end result."
Daddy turned me over, pressed on my lower back and did this to me.
If you are a boy whose Daddy expects to enter your life this way, then you might want to read about how to be Daddy's Gold Star boy. Your rear is his playground. And whether he just paddles you or if he does this to you, you need to know how to do this willingly and well, so he keep coming back to fill that up for the next time and the next time and the next time.

Conversations With our Spanking Elders & Betters
Though my friend eddie knapps left this world a while ago, (Oh donât worry, Iâm not going to get maudlin here. Heâd hate that.), his legacy lives on. eddie was the first adult boy I ever met. It was the 1990s and he was a bit of a star before there were stars in the Spanking world.
He comes from a time when there was not real internet until about 1993, and then thanks to something like Compuserve or some such, we met up "online." Finally he came to D.C. and we began setting up Spanking dates for us to be Spanked as brothers or best friends by Daddys I knew or he knew.Â
In this blogpost, eddie tells the story of what it is to be an adult boy and how we're different from other boys.Â
Unfortunately I don't have any face shots of eddie, unsurprisingly. But we got Spankings together and he was a real hero for me.
I was rummaging around in my old print-outs from the 1990s and saw a lengthy, insight-filled correspondence he sent on Monday, January 19, 1998. Looks like he was snowed in somewhere in the Midwest and had time to type out his thoughts on a conversation weâd been having about a new Daddy heâd been seeing in Ohio.
"A boy getting a Spanking can wiggle and kick, but do virtually nothing to interrupt or intervene in his punishment."
Iâm including this correspondence because eddieâs email provides some excellent insights on issues we all care about here at Cornertime Confidential:
Crying (How sometimes crying doesnât happen. How it can be triggered from a genuine space.),
Men Who Spank, (Our authority figure triggers)
badboys, big teens, and frat boys, ("bottoms," "butts," and "asses"),
Cornertime and how Daddys can implement it well
The Hairbrush and The bath bat or bath brush, and
The Challenge of Authenticity:Â How Spankings can be too real for some people; why so many feel that formalized S&M is grown up, and Daddy/boy Spankings are not.Â
From eddie:
The Daddy Iâve been communicating with is stern, but not some kinda sadist, so donât worry about that. And well, Iâm not a masochist in the strictest sense of the term. Iâm just a badboy. I get a good talkinâ to, Cornertime, and down time to recover from the racing heartbeat, pulse, etc.
A "big teen" Spanking
Though obviously Spanking(s) is/are the central element of M/b (Man/boy) Discipline, they are not the only element.
Lecturing
Cornertime
Writing lines
Revocation of pants privileges
Display and humiliation of the exposed rumpus, etc.
These are all part of a Daddys arsenal when punishing his boy, and reminding brats like you and me that we are, indeed, nothing but overgrown brats.
The Spankings are separated and well-paced so as to allow the boy to feel the dread of knowing another is in store for later, though he wonât know exactly when. Too, âconstantâ Spanking tends to soon result in âleather rump,â where the skin of the boyâs fanny seems to thicken and his behind goes almost numb, which defeats the purpose of The Spanking, which is, after all, to create burning discomfort in that misbehaving bottom!
"...most of my Daddys spank firmly and briskly with The Hairbrush,"
Generally, Iâd say most of my Daddys Spank firmly and briskly with The Hairbrush, âtil my bottom is thrashing around on their laps, my legs are kickinâ plenty, and Iâm pleading and sniffling. If I start to really bawl, Spanking continues âtil I am crying constantly and forcefully, for being a âcrybabyâ or being given âsomething to cry aboutâ is a true sign of just what a boy I am.
When Daddyâs satisfied I have learned (or at least am learning) my lesson, I get sent to stand or kneel in The Corner to âthink about itâ and display my red bottom to him and whoever else is present. After 10 minutes or so, Iâm either allowed to leave The Corner (though usually not allowed to cover my fanny),face further embarrassing Punishment (rectal temp checks, enemas, butt plugging, writing lines, chores, and other things), or taken by the ear, marched back to the âPlace of Punishmentââusually The Spanking Chairâpulled over Daddyâs knee and Spanked some more.
I have known true badboys who favor the leather strop or The Belt as the best way to correct them, and Daddys who swear they are the most effective instruments of Discipline. This sometimes has to do with how the boys (or the Men Who Spank) were punished growing up, especially as teenagers.
"The bent-over boy [standing on his own two feet] is expected to maintain enough self-control to remain in that position âtil his Punishment is over; the boy held over a Manâs knee has no self-control."
At the same time, I guess, there are âbadboysâ and there are âbadboys!â Boys who get The Hairbrush are usually boys who get their pants pulled down, get turned over Daddyâs lap, get Spanked until they kick and cry. boys who get the strap (or larger paddles, for that matter) are often allowed to âletâ their own pants down, bend over, or go over the bed or the arm of a chair, etc., and get whipped âtil they hollar.
"Both hurt a great deal, but the boy who gets a whipping  gets to hold to just a little bit of his âmanlyâ dignity..."
I guess what Iâm saying is there is something a little more âgrow-upâ about The Belt and a whipping (or the paddle and paddling) than about The Hairbrush and a Spanking. Both hurt a great deal, but the boy who gets a whippin' gets to hold to just a little bit of his âmanlyâ dignity (exposing his own rear vs. having it exposed, for example), while the boy who gets Spanked does not.
The bent-over boy [standing on his own two feet] is expected to maintain enough self-control to remain in that position âtil his Punishment is over; the boy held over a Manâs knee has no self-control. In that very awkward and extremely juvenile position, he is pretty much helpless. The Man Who Spanks is in total control. A boy getting whipped can jump up, grab his stinging fanny, etc., and high-tail it out of there. A boy getting a Spanking can wiggle and kick, but do virtually nothing to interrupt or intervene in his punishment.
Certainly, Iâve known boys who take very severe lickings who nonetheless rarely if ever go over the knee. Iâd divide boys like us, I guess into three general categories:
âFrat boysâ have âasses.â We're boys, we have âbottoms.âÂ
Frat boysâguys into more ritualized paddlings
âbig teensââboys who get paddled or whipped, but rarely or never Spanked, and
âbadboysâ or âbratsââwho almost always get Spanked over the knee.
You could argue that âFrat boysâ have âasses,â âbig teensâ have âbutts, and we have âbottoms.â
Interestingly, I know guys who are into S&M and they will do literally anything, kiss boots, get tied up, slapped, punched, take hot wax, ball-stretching, titclamps, really big dildos, whipped all overâall of this in public evenâand yet they would never get an over-the-knee Spanking to tears. The reason at least some have told me is that it would be too childish or too embarrassing!
"I once got really blistered with a paddle and The Hairbrush by two Men Who Spank."
As an example, I once got really blistered with a paddle and The Hairbrush by two Men Who Spank at a âleather weekend.â All manner of S&M activities were taking place in the dungeon as I got my pants pulled down and thrown across the lap of one of these Men Who Spank. The spent about 30 minutes Disciplining me, and I was in tears for a good 2/3rds of it. There was one guy who had been watching the activities, mostly a âTop,â who disappeared almost as soon as my Spanking started. I found out later that he had gone upstairs away from the action, because, he told one of the Men Who Spanked me, that watching me squirming over his knee had been âtoo real.â
That may be the key thing, jake. Spanking really happens in real life, every day, in the lives of naughty boys who have no choice in the matter. Thereâs always some element of âconsentâ in S&M, or the use of bondage which means, âI couldnât do anything about it. I couldnât get away and this is what happened to me.âÂ
When somebody sees boys like us Spanked, they may find it very funny (which it is for others, we have to admit, though certainly not for us). But it also reminds a great many guys of their own experiences with real pain, powerlessness, and humiliation.

The Hairbrush is the Spanking Tool that has the greatest effect on me. It stings so bad.
"The Hairbrush is what separates those of us boys from the play-actors."
And of course, it was my own Dadâs instrument of choice starting when I was about 13. The Hairbrush is what separates those of us boys from the play-actors. The Hairbrush is what turns men into boys easily as much as getting your white Jockey Shorts yanked down and having your boy bottom exposed in front of others. As an adult boy, I feel that The Hairbrush is something Men Who Spank should probably always have at the readyâa completely innocuous element in any household, and yet, of course, a devastating Punishment tool.
On a different note, you know that well-worn tale about Spankings on long car trips, well, I also know about the âAttitude Adjusterâ paddles from souvenir shops that Dads paddle with, as well.
It likely said something like âboard of educationâ or âAttitude Adjusterâ
But you mentioned that your Dad had a paddle with something written on it and a picture of a boy with his pants down rubbing a rosy rumpus. You couldnât remember what was written on it. I suspect it was made of cedar (many of such paddles at tourist shops are to double as moth repellents in the closet!). It likely said something like âboard of educationâ or âAttitude Adjusterâ like the one my Dad had. I have seen one that has an illustration of a fawn with a bear cub following it with the words, âFor the sweet little deer with the bear behind.â I most recently had one of those used on me in Ohio this summer. Ouch! They still work on adult boys when applied correctly!
[At this point in our emails, Eddie referred to something Iâd written about Daddy Don. âFor the most part,â I wrote, âDaddy Don likes to make his boys get The Hairbrush, carry it into the bedroom, and hand it to him. But sometimes he makes me get the Bathbrush. Itâs a hard wooden back scrubber which he has a particular fondness for and my heinie absolutely does not like. In fact, I really donât like it. Itâs his way, I think, of keeping me in line on his terms.â]
"Bath and shower brushes are particularly lethal because the handles are so long and really give Daddy leverage."Â
Sounds like a fine, traditional ritual, guaranteed to increase a boyâs nervousness, jake. The Bath Bat Iâm familiar with. Bath and shower brushes are particularly lethal because the handles are so long and really give Daddy leverage. Too, using the tool that the boy most dreads is, indeed, a way of making it clear who is in charge and that this is not a game. I know boys who use a kind of âBreâr Rabbitâ-styled, âPlease donât throw me in the briar patchâ approach to get Spanked with the instrument that they actually prefer (âOh, Daddy, please donât use that little paddle!â) Of course, if that gets found outâŚwatch outâŚ
I really appreciate the hug afterwards, something that came as a boy only after Iâd been sent to my room and been alone for a while. An interesting thing that sometimes happens to me is that, after a real blistering and some Cornertime, when the Man Who Spanks comes over and pulls me to him and rubs my sore fanny a little and says, âOkay, boyâŚâ even if I have not cried the whole time getting Spanked, I start to sob.
One memorable occasion was when Daddy Mike who used to do a lot of Spanking videos, Spanked me in front of three other boys in San Diego. The Punishment went on and on, and thoâ I squirmed, kicked, hollered, begged, I didnât break down or cried. Then he came to me in The Corner, held me, and I just went to pieces in front of everybody.
"I really appreciate the hug afterwards...I just went To pieces in front of everybody."

How a Domestic Discipline Life Can Help Couples Stay Strong When Life Gets Hard*
by jake*Â
Today's Post: Two Examples of Loving, Honoring, and Obeying
Being in a long-term relationship has never been easy. Anyone who tells you otherwise hasnât lived long enough, or hasnât faced the real tests that life brings. Bills pile up. Work schedules clash. Health issues flare. Aging parents need care. Stress, pressure, exhaustion. Formerly great friends hit midlife crises and suddenly start poking at the heart of your relationship with their endless drama or unsolicited âadvice.â Even the happiest Male-male couples eventually find themselves at a crossroads, wondering, âAre we still working as a team? Are we still choosing one another every day, even if we are an open relationship?â
In todayâs world, far too many relationships donât survive those crossroads. People walk away when the tension becomes chronic. They give up after argument upon argument cuts too deep. They lose heart when they see only their partnerâs flaws instead of remembering his strengths. They forget that staying together requires grit, forgiveness, and weekly effort.
It doesnât have to be this way.Â
Couples donât fail because theyâre broken or incompatible. They fail because they stop working on the relationship. They stop choosing each other when the journey gets uncomfortable.
Clear structure, defined roles, real accountability, and a commitment to addressing and correcting problems
Domestic Discipline (DD) relationshipsâespecially Male-male Daddy/boy dynamicsâare built differently. That very structure changes everything. And itâs not just an opinion; couples who live this way consistently are more likely to experience higher satisfaction and longevity when the storms hit.
Why? Because DD gives a couple something most modern relationships lack: clear structure, defined roles, real accountability, and a commitment to addressing and correcting problems instead of letting them fester.
This relationship style brings order whereas other relationship approaches more easily allow chaos to take root. DD creates unity through loving Corporal Punishment and other corrective approaches where misunderstandings might otherwise grow unchecked. It prevents small arguments from metastasizing into relationship-ending resentments. Most importantly, it helps a Daddy and his boy remember exactly who they are to each otherâand how much stronger they are when they operate as a united team.
Letâs look at some fictionalized examples to think about how this plays out when life gets hard. (I could give you my real life examples, but I've done that in links to blog posts you can see below).
Example 1: Financial Stress and Poor Communication
Mark (Daddy) and Alex (boy) have been together eight years. Daddy owns a small business; Alex is a graphic designer who works from home. When the economy slowed, Daddyâs jobs dried up for months. Bills piled up. Daddy started working 70-hour weeks just to keep them afloat. He came home exhausted, short-tempered, and withdrew emotionally.
alex felt abandoned. He tried to talk about it, but Daddy snapped, âIâm doing this for usâstop nagging me.â Resentment grew on both sides. alex began doom-scrolling late into the night instead of coming to bed. Daddy noticed but said nothing. The distance widened.
In a vanilla relationship, this often ends in one partner saying, âI canât do this anymore.â In their DD relationship, it ended very differently.
One Friday night, alex crossed a pre-agreed line: he spent $400 on new video games and gear without asking, even though they were on a strict budget. Was he trying to get his Daddy's attention? Maybe. Does it matter why in this situation? Probably not. Here's what happened next:Â
Daddy sat him down. "boy, we have Rules about money for a reason. You knew we were struggling, and you chose to ignore that. This isnât just about me or the money now. Itâs about trust and teamwork.â
alex started to defend himself, âI'm sick of being broke and sitting around the house with you after work doing nothing. It's not my fault the economy sucks.âÂ
Daddy raised a hand and explained by pointing with a firm index finger to alex's Corner, âLectureâs over. Cornertime for you. Twenty minutes. I want you to think about what you just said. Then you can explain what you've learned and we are going to deal with this properly.â
After Cornertime, alex didn't really change his mind. He was absolutely sick of Daddy's anxiety filling the house and not solving the problem for them.
Daddy said, âThere's a different solution, alex, than sitting quietly and waiting for me to come out of my funk. And I'm going to explain it to you, over my knee.â Daddy marched alex from The Corner to the bed, he put his shoe on the edge of the bedframe and hoisted big alex over his knee as his boy's arms and head landed splat on the mattress.Â
alex got a long, hard Spanking with the bath brush while Daddy scolded throughout, saying, "You are always an equal participant in this relationship. If you feel ignored or that I'm lost in my own world, you say so."Â
The Spanking was firm enough and long enough that alex really had to grit his teeth at this point, "You don't go out and spend hundreds of dollars we don't have on anything," the bath brush was doing it's business on the backside of the problem created by alex.Â
"Ever!" said the bathbrush â or was it Daddy? â with finality. alex was sobbing audibly by the end.Â
But then came the real work: Daddy â who was truly fed up â had to hold alex and let him sob with his shoulders making up and down motions like he was actually crying. They talked, really talked, for the first time in weeks.
DD is an adhesive that binds a M/mâotherwise equalârelationship into an ironically more âunequal,â yet healthier, pairing.Â
Even in DD relationships, the partners will make flawed choices. It happens.Â
Guilty!âđź
Daddy openly chose to be in a funk that he didn't do his best to get out of to focus on alex. And alex didn't say anything about how he was feeling, allowed it to bottle up, and then let it explode on a spending spree.Â
alex admitted he spent the money because he felt lonely and invisible. Daddy admitted heâd been shutting down instead of leaning on his boy for support. The Spanking broke the emotional dam. By the end of the night they had a new budget, a weekly check-in date, and a renewed sense that they were on the same side.
The Punishment didnât just fix the Rule breaking. It reset the Daddy/boy dynamic and reminded them both who was in charge, who needed to follow, who needed to lead, and that they both needed to make some changes around here.
Example 2: Health Crisis and Loss of Intimacy
James (Daddy) was diagnosed with a persistent back injury from work around 34 years of age. The Chiropractic was helping, but coupled with pain pills from his medical doctor, it left him depressed, almost no libido, and doped up.Â
His boy, liam, became the caregiver during this time. liam handled everything â meds, appointments, meals, and all the heavy lifting of housework, yardwork, and the rest â while still working full-time.
At first Daddy was grateful, but as the weeks dragged on he started snapping at liam for hovering, for âtreating him like an invalid.â liam, exhausted, began retreating into his phone and avoiding affection because every time he tried to touch Daddy, Daddy pushed him away.
One night liam came home late from work without textingâsomething explicitly against their Rules. James was waiting. âI texted you. I needed you here to help me get dinner. And, hell, I needed to know you were safe, boy. Where the heck were you?â
"Look I'm kinda sick of this." confessed liam, far too late in the game for it to matter now. âI cannot be your nurse. You need to find a better nurse."Â
âThat doesn't just hurt, liam, that was totally avoidable,â said Daddy. âWhy didn't you speak up? I needed that one small thing from you today.âÂ
âIt was just one small thing too many. I don't have to do this for you,â said liam, shocking the crap out of Daddy. It was one thing to want to get help, it was another to just Disrespect Daddy and shirk his role in the relationship.Â
âI don't expect you not to have an opinion around here, liam.â Daddy went on, shifting gears, âBut you are never to Disrespect me when we are having an argument. What happens when you Disrespect Daddy, liam?âÂ
âI get in trouble, Sir.â liam said, realizing that there was a new issue that had arisen that would be taken care of first. Because he is in a DD relationship, he knows what was going to come next, and that his feelings about the caregiving would be handled after that.Â
âGet to your room now, and I'll meet you in there in a moment," Daddy said firmly. liam hemmed and hawed. He looked sideways at Daddy rolling his eyes.Â
âMarch, young man, march.â Daddy said to the 41 year, 7 years his senior. liam didn't want to, but thanks to the nature of their relationship, he knew he needed to go to his room.
The Spanking was tricky for Daddy, he had a terribly painful back and so it would be impossible to turn liam over his knee. Daddy walked into the room that liam was sent to when he gets into trouble and pulled the two pillows into a stack in the middle of the bed. Take your pants off and lay over the pillows.â Â
The Spanking that followed was severe because James used the heavy leather belt that provided him the ability to lift the strap high and bring it down fast without hurting his own back any further. He didn't beat liam's behind with The Belt that often. It caught liam off guard, causing liam to sniffle through The Spanking. Â
When The Spanking was administered and Daddy put The Belt back over the door handle, he told liam to turn over on the bed. Daddy gingerly sat down trying to not put too much pressure on his back, he looked down on liam, and whispered, âIâm still your Daddy. This back pain issue doesnât get to take that away from us. Let's look into getting me some help tomorrow first thing so you don't have to do so much and feel so put out."
"Thank you, Daddy," said liam.
"Now, am I going to have any more Disrespect from you moving forward?â
liam didn't need to think about how to respond. He knew. liam hugged his Daddy and said, "I'm glad you're my Daddy."Â
Daddy had already offered a solution and liam knew he could rely on it. Did Daddy think that up during The Spanking? Or had he already planned to get extra support for liam anyway?
It didn't really matter. Was liam a bad boy? No, not really. He responded badly, but he wasn't really a bad boy. In a situation where liam wasn't willing to speak up, he chose avoidance which then led to Disrespect. Disrepecting Daddy led to him being openly defiant. liam could have made better choices. And so could James.
Was James the perfect Daddy? No. He was so engrossed in his own physical pain that he wasn't thinking about how he should be making plans to assist liam. Daddy too, learned an important lesson. Â
That night was a turning point, obviously. The Corporal Punishment reminded them both that the hierarchy was alive again. James was still in charge even though he was stuck in the situation he was in. liam still neededâand wantedâhis Daddyâs firm hand and his solutions to resolve a nagging issue that was weighing him down.
Intimacy came back slowly, but it came back stronger because the structure of their relationship was built in when everything else was falling apart.
The boyâs Response to Correction: Why It Works
boys in healthy DD relationships donât just âtolerateâ Disciplineâthey crave it, especially when life is hard. Why? CP releases resentment fast. The Spankings figuratively clear the air in a way that feels literal, not figurative.
Spankings reconnect boys both physically and emotionally to their Daddy in a way apologies alone never can. When I look back at my first relationship, I cannot believe the sheer number of times my partner had to hear me apologizing and apologizing. It must have driven him crazy. It sure drove him away from me. I think now, "Wow, a CP-centered relationship could have kept us together for life."
Spankings can restore the power dynamic that stress, frustration, and disinterest can easily erode.
CP and other nonSpanking Punishments like washing a boy's mouth out with soap, Cornertime, writing lines or apology letters, and other creative Punishments give the boy proof â tangible, undeniable proof âthat his Daddy still cares enough to lead, correct, and protect the relationship.
Most adult boys in DD relationships will tell you that the worse things get on the outside, the more they need that paddle or strap on their backside. Itâs grounding. Itâs a type of love that's made familiar and unmistakable. And CP used wisely can immediately revive some of excitement of what brought the two men â Daddy and boyâ together in the first place.
Prioritizing Daddy and Prioritizing your boy
Hereâs where many M/m DD relationships hit a fork in the road. We're men â either Daddy or boy â so we're apt to want variety in our partners. Spanking the same boy over and over again can become repetitious for many Men. Being Spanked in the same patterns by a Daddy who isn't varying the experience can feel monotonous and tedious.
A lot of Daddysâespecially those who came into the lifestyle through leather or BDSM scenesâassume that being âDaddyâ includes the freedom to Discipline or play with other boys. For some couples, openly discussed non-monogamy works beautifully. A Daddy can blow off steam with a "side boy," try new implements that his primary relationship forbids, or Mentor someone new without threatening the primary relationship.
But many boysâespecially those who ties exclusivity deeply to the relationshipâcannot handle that. They didnât sign up to share their Daddyâs lap, his strap, or his Rules. For these boys, being the one and only boy is central to their emotional security and the entire dynamic. The Daddy that doesn't honor that is making a huge mistake.
This is not necessarily insecurity talking. Itâs a legitimate need, and it needs to be recognized for what it is. As a Daddy, you should avoid boys who are set in their ways about monogamy and not playing with other boys. The fallout can be disasterous and painful, much more painful than any Spanking ever could be.
Now, mistakes will happen with all Men, but boys who cannot forgive their Daddys are not being good partners. But if Daddy is not putting his boy first, to the exclusion of all others, he's creating a fairly insurmountable challenge that may be impossible to resolve.Â
If a Daddy truly wants the relationship to work, he must decide what matters more: the freedom to experience others, or the trust of the boy who gives him his all.Â
Pro-tip for the boys:Â Having said that, some boys say one thing and do another. They say that their Daddy is their everything, but then they sure don't act like it. Daddy always needs to gauge how sincere his boy is being. True story: I've been guilty of being that bad boy partner. I wanted monogamy in my first relationship (19-34 years of age), and it didn't work because I was actually "cheating" and not telling my partner. How could CP have been used to bring us together instead of tearing us apart? I've asked myself that for years.
Pro-tip for the Daddys: On the flipside, Iâve watched relationships become lousy because a Daddy insisted, âThe Spankings I give other boys is just playâit doesnât mean anything,â while his boy sat home feeling replaced. Even worse, I've seen Daddys who genuinely don't mean it when they say, âOh, it means nothing.â And then you see them playing at a party like IML or MAL or other scenes and think, âThat sure doesn't look like 'nothing.'â Those Daddys deserve to have their boys walk right out of their lives.
Despite those scenario, Iâve also watched relationships grow because a Daddy looked at his boy and said, âYou are my only boy. Daddy wants to play for now, but he'll be back and be your Daddy when I get home. No one else gets what you get from me.â
Prioritizing the boy first doesnât mean the Daddy becomes a doormat. It means recognizing that the boyâs participation in the DD relationship is a gift he gives his Daddy. A good Daddy protects that gift â sometimes by closing the door to others if he has to. But Daddy makes that call, though. A boy who pushes Daddy and hounds his Daddy isn't being a good boy partner either. We are adults after all, and we make our choices. If the boy decides Daddy isn't meeting the standards set by the relationship, then he has the power to always choose other Daddys and walk away.
When life gets hardâand it always does particularly when you are in a coupleâthe partner who knows he is irreplaceable will weather storms better at his partner's side. So it is in DD relationships: The Daddy and the boy who watch out for one another's psychic safety last. And the boy who fears he might be replaced may very likely pull away to protect himself. Frankly, he should. The Daddy who finds out his boy is playing him for a fool should act too. If he cannot wrestle that rascal into Obedience, then he too should protect himself too.
We probably all know couples that fall in these latter categories. Choose wisely which couple you want to be.Â
Besides being good to each other too has its benefits! You'll have more friends because you are both more fun to be around!
Tying It All Together
Domestic Discipline relationships aren't just about CP for CP's sake. DD is an adhesive that binds a M/mâotherwise equalârelationship into an ironically more âunequal,â yet healthier, pairing.Â
DD is a deliberate and intentional relationship operating system designed to help the Daddy and boy, in their unequal roles, become a successful and connected pair. When money is tight, health fails, families intrude, or the world feels like itâs ending, vanilla couples often drift because they have no "relationship operating system" to course-correct quickly and viscerally. You cannot screw your partner into happiness when his Daddy is sick or because Daddy's job is falling apart because of the economy. You just end up screwing yourself.
DD couples have that mechanism built in:Â
clear Roles,Â
swift accountability,Â
physical and emotional reset buttons through loving Discipline, andÂ
an ironclad reminder of who leads and who follows.
The Spanking, the Cornertime, writing lines, the mouth-soaping â none of it is the whole point of DD on its own. These Disciplinary tactics are simply the Tools that keep the DD connection alive and the relationship's internal order intact when everything else seems to be falling apart.

Dear Readers, I've begun writing a Handbook on Daddy/boy Domestic Discipline. I'd love to hear your input. I would love to hear particularly from boys who are currently in or have been in Dom/sub or Daddy/boy relationships where Spanking has played an important role.Â

In Praise of Men Who Spank: Stephen
The Magic in the Magic Spanking Factory
Today is the year anniversary of the passing of one of the most impressive, scariest (for boys!), and most effective Men Who Spank. This is a direct lift from Lochjelly who wrote this on JockSpank. I hope you already know his work. But if you do not, good news! Read on...
In Memory of Stephen (JustMagic) A message from Lochgelly
With the heaviest of hearts I am sorry to have to let you know that the man behind the Saarland Spanking Factory and The Magic Spanking Factory, died on 27th April 2025, at 23:45 local time in Germany, peacefully and without pain, surrounded by his closest friends. I have spent most of April in Germany to be with him.
He was a victim of nicotine.
Stephen was one of the most frequent and generous contributors to the former Yahoo and Google m_mspanking groups, and only started charging for his video clips at Clips4Sale after many years of giving them away freely. That C4S group remains active, but I have no idea how much longer that will be the case.
He was larger than life, and lived life to the full, and he was a very popular person here in all aspects of local society. It seems everyone locally knew and loved him, as I have learned from the constant invitations from what are, to me, strangers. It is likely some 400 people will attend the funeral, which says it all.
Stephen was without doubt the best friend I ever had, this past 20 years, and the loss I will feel personally when the arrangements here are completed is hard for me to comprehend.
Stephen would have wanted no sadness however, he would have wanted us to remember the good times, have a good laugh and a good glass of wine to toast him away to the Great Factory in the sky.
Vale Stephen!
Yours, Lochgelly

Humility or Humiliation
Time Outs: The Daddy/boy Truth
Ever been the boy sent straight to Cornertime with your sore, Spanked bottom still burning? Or stood there as Daddy, watching your boy nose-to-the-wall, bare red cheeks on full display while he teaches you exactly whoâs in charge?
A blogger named Dominic Masters recently wrote a piece on Cornertime that felt completely off to me as a boy who has been send to The Corner most of the time when I'm in trouble. Masters described it like some gentle, quiet meditation in a Domestic Discipline setup, all soft and reflective, with no real power, no real shame, and no Daddy taking control. Hereâs how he put it, âIn a world that moves quickly, speaks loudly, and rewards reaction over reflection, the practice of corner time stands in quiet contrast. It is simple. It is still.â
From where I sit -- errrrm, stand -- that really misses the mark. When Daddy sends me to the Corner, itâs not a "peaceful contrast to a noisy world." Itâs a firm, serious instruction. boys like me go to The Corner because Daddy has decided the boy's behavior will not be tolerated. The stillness isnât "calm or chosen for reflection"âitâs enforced and for me as a boy, I find it upsetting. A boy stands there knowing he has no real choice, that he is Daddyâs boy, and that it's time to obey. Will I negotiate and try to get out of it? Sure. Will Daddy offer concessions? Sometimes. What did I do? How serious is the problem Daddy is fixing using Cornertime? All of these things come into the equation. Why? Because boys' behavior can be complicated, and Daddy's role in administering Punishments have to adapt to that complicated situation that the boy has created.
Masters says as only a Daddy might say, âIt [Cornertime] asks very little on the surface, yet it reaches deeply into the emotional core of a [boy] who has chosen to live within the structure of a Domestic Discipline relationship. There are no raised voices in it. No immediate correction in the way people might expect. No spectacle. Just a wall, The Corner, and the deliberate choice to stand, to be still, and to face inward.â Well, I don't know what kind of relationship Masters has been in, but as a boy in a DD relationship, my instinct is to push back.
In a Daddy/boy dynamics, Cornertime is rarely a âdeliberate choiceâ by the boy. Itâs an order from Daddy. And it often can come with immediate correction still burning on the boyâs behind or face. Plenty of Daddys use Cornertime right in the middle of Corporal Punishment as a deliberate Timeout. Daddy pauses The Spanking, marches the boy to The Corner, and leaves him there with his red, hot, or bruised bottom exposed toward the room.Â
That is the spectacle that is Cornertime.Â
The boy feels every second of itâthe burn on display, the vulnerability, the clear reminder that Daddy controls even this quiet moment. Masters feels there is âno spectacleâ here. The exposure is intentional. Masters goes on to say that at first glance Cornertime can seem almost too simple to matter. âStanding in The Corner does not appear powerful. It does not look like Discipline in the traditional sense. It does not carry the visible weight of consequencesâŚâ
Yet any boy who has stood in Cornertime with a sore bottom knows exactly how powerful it feels. It carries the visible weight of consequences on his sore heinie and his demeanor which can be pretty upset. The âtraditionalâ Discipline isnât missingâitâs literally still glowing behind him and Daddy can see that perfectly while he faces the wall.
Masters claims those who understand this lifestyle know that the most powerful shifts are the quiet ones, âThe ones that happen beneath the surface, where pride softens, where resistance loosens its grip, and where the heart begins to realign itself without force.â In an unequal Daddy/boy relationship, that softening doesnât happen without Daddy's authority.Â
It happens because of Daddyâs authority, his Rules, his decision to put his boy in Cornertime. The boyâs pride gets humbled because he is being reduced to exactly what he is in that moment:Â Daddyâs little boy, sent to stand exposed and obedient in The Corner of the room. Sometimes, when accompanied by a Spanking, that room is where the boy has been Spanked and where anyone could see him if they too were there for the Punishment.Â
The realignment comes from feeling small, knowing he messed up, and understanding he will do as heâs told. It isnât gentle therapy. Itâs Daddy taking charge the way a boy needs.
Finally, Masters draws his big line, âCornertime is not about humiliation. It is about humility. And there is a profound difference between the twoâŚâ
From my years as a Spanked boy, I just see it differently. Forcing an adult boy to stand in The Corner with his just-Spanked, possibly marked bottom sticking out toward the room is humiliating. And for many of us, that shame is exactly what makes Cornertime work so well. It stops bad behavior cold. It drives the lesson home. It reinforces the dynamic:Â
Daddy decides.
The boy obeys.
He is not equal in that moment. Heâs Daddyâs boyâbare, vulnerable, learning his place.Â
I just doubt that I'm the only boy who openly acknowledges that the embarrassment, the exposure of my bare bottom, and the clear power imbalance are what give Cornertime its strengthâwhether itâs a standalone Punishment or paired with a sore bottom on full display.
Masters turns Cornertime into something quiet, dignified, and almost gently transformativeâlike a soft tool for heart change. We see it plainer and rawer: an unequal, deliberately shaming tool in Daddy's Toolbox, that Daddys use to correct their boys, assert control, and remind us exactly whoâs boss.Â
Both approaches are consensual between adults, but they describe two very different experiences. One smoothes everything out to sound nicer and more respectable. The other knows the real punch comes from keeping the inequality and the shame right there in the openâbecause thatâs what sends a boy to The Corner and keeps him there until Daddy says heâs learned his lesson.

Being joey
As avid readers may have noticed, we have been getting some keen insights from a certain joey as of late on blogposts of all stripes. The commenterâs insights throughout the blog have certainly captured my attention, as I hope theyâve captured yours. As I found myself replying to these thoughts, I realized joey might be a fellow traveler who might also have some wonderful things to share with Cornertime Confidential beyond the usual that I delve into. Like skewlboy paul and willy and several others before, joey brings a unique sensibility and a capacity for explaining the joyful side of being an adult child that often gets lost in a blog that spends an awful lotta time talkinâ about DD and Maintenance Spankings! I understand that many readers are far more into the red bottoms than the rest of my life as an adult boy, so I ask those readersâ patience as today we take a side journey into the super doooper great side of being a kid. In fact, it was just the other day I was thinking about how terrifically cool it was that I was going to a baseball game with a super red bottom, and as I stood up for the â7th Inning Stretchâ singing âTake Me Out to the Ballgame!â I felt deep down like a VERY, VERY lucky little boy indeed!
Well, joey has ways of incorporating play into a very exciting life in the English Midlands, and Cornertime Confidential is thrilled, just thrilled to be able to bring this story to you today.
Play and the adult kid
by guest blogger joey
There are many aspects around being an adult kid, which if you're like many of us it's taken time to come to an acceptance of. And while many have been talked about here at Cornertime Confidential, there is one I'd like to introduce to you:
Play.
Play is something we associate very much with our childhood, something that we all have in common that outside of school was the means by which we socialized at home or on the playgrounds in our communities. If you've struggled since with these things they also can be of use to you to relearn those skills that can crossover into your more adult roles.
Playing is how we learned about each other, learned new skills from each other be it building a model, skipping along on the sidewalk, or just how to be a friend, looking out for others. We felt good going out in the snow building snowmen or tossing snowballs at each other. I still do actually!
So whenever I've been with my adult kid friends one of things we program into our meet-ups are various play opportunities starting with an ice breaker. One of our favourites is working on a jigsaw together, which gives an opportunity to not to just solve the puzzleâwhich is funâbut to start working together, establishing a good co-operative feeling from the get-go.
Play can be both individual- as well as group- centred. For instance, you may enjoy making Lego's small kits, say, of a Helicopter from the supplied parts, which can help with developing your hand-to-eye co-ordination. And itâs great for helping improve ability to concentrate too!
Within play, you can create stories using your own imagination either by actually role playing (Dungeons and Dragons or playing 'School' anyone?) or making up adventures for your Teddies (and for me at least dolls), which I find pretty good for getting rid of âadultâ stress.
Finding anew that sense of imagination is magical.
Another one you can do by yourself or as a group is...wait for it...colouring, something that's on the rise in popularity at least in the UK with some more older age group colouring books being published. But if, like me, you love Disney, bliss can equal going to the local store and getting yourself colouring book (my new one is âFrozenâ) and a pack of pencils (or crayons).I find it very relaxing.
Me and my adult play friends often bring traditional board games such as Mousetrap with us dividing people into teams as we throw the dice over the course of a few hours. Although this game is one where having more than two players may be more enjoyable, you may have to wait until you get the right number of people. Setting aside an area for a small train set powered, or even the chunky push-along sort, pretending you're along the Canadian Pacific climbing the inclines and going over bridgesâtrain whistles optionalâcan be great fun. And it taps into something many have childhood memories of.
Or maybe you like playing with toy cars creating an adventure as you go long as they all come from the same place inside you, your âlittleâ side. Just letting it out in a setting that's comfortable I find removes layers of emotional constipation so you feel more at ease with yourself.
Although I don't because of a disability I have, there's no reason not to rig up an Xbox or PS4 and have several of you just sit around playing while your Daddys or mentors are either having more groan (!) up fun or just discussing things between themselvesâlooking out, as most of our Daddys did, in case we started to get into trouble. Your playing then can actually be pretty good for them too, giving them a break while their boys are all together doing their own thing.

Daddys Play an Important Role at Events
The successful running of a littles event relies on many things and an important role in this is maintaining order between individual adult kids and handling tantrums lies with Daddys co-operating, watching the scene, issuing verbal reprimands and enforcing agreed consequences.
Individuals who misbehave are lead to The Corner for ten minutes reflection, which is normal for us and does help keeping order with 20 odd folk! Another role for the Daddys who are present is to listen, offer emotional support with plenty of hugs to anyone who is feeling lost or down.
Naturally, play can take place out of doors too with a bit of planning and consideration for those not in the lifestyle, where you could go to a park and fly kites, have a kick about playing soccer or maybe baseball while sharing food together.
Wasn't that the kind of fun you just loved as a kid? Well if so, let's just get on with recreating it âcos there's no reason to do without it!

SUPER kewl YouTube channel. We have a guy aggregating TV and film clips from decades of stuff! It's a real treasure trove! Thank you Hall of Tighty Whities in Film!
Lots of men like to make fun of guys that wear briefs. I wonder if they realize how funny it is to see these same guys pulling his boxer brief legs down? Some have come up with some interesting ways to do so, depending on what they are wearing on the outside. My favorite is the guys that put their hands in their pockets and try to pull them down. Or how funny it is to see a guy pull his boxer shorts out of his butt crack.
Yeah we see you.
Us brief wearers donât have these problems.
I love the heated controversy!

The Rule of the Lochgelly Strap
Today is April 1, and in the past, Cornertime Confidential always celebrated adult schoolboys here the first week of April. This year, I'm a little tapped out of schoolboy content, but I did want to share this excellent piece from "The Rule of the Strap" by threadinburgh.scot.
This piece was published quite a while ago, but I am just seeing it now. I hope you find it as illuminating as I did. I grew up with paddles in schools, but in Scotland (and I understand also in Canada), they beat schoolboy's bottoms with The Lockgelly Strap. Here's that story.
The Rule of the Strap: The Peculiar Corporal Punishment of Scottish Education
A two-thonged Lochgelly-pattern Tawse. The punched hole was for hanging it on a wall (in full view of a class).
By Andy Arthur - Threadinburgh Â
In April 2nd 1982, Lothian Region Council implemented a ban on corporal punishment in its schools, making it the first Scottish authority to do so. Some other regions were less enlightened however and would hold on to the practice until a UK-wide ban came into force in 1987. In Scotland, corporal punishment in schools almost universally meant hitting the upturned palms of children with an official instrument that is variously called the belt, the strap, the tawse or the Lochgelly. So what is this device, why and how did it evolve, how did it meet its end? (and, importantly for this sites locale of interest, what part did Edinburgh have to play?)
Lochgelly Tawse. Photo: @self
Tawis or tawse is a Scots word going back to the 16th century and was a plural for a leather belt or strap. This word in turn came from the Middle English tawe, for leather tanned so as to keep it supple. A strap or belt across the palms or buttocks was long the favoured instrument of Corporal Punishment in Scottish education. In the mid-19th century illustration below we see the schoolmaster (Dominie) flicking his leather strap towards the upturned palms of his fearful-looking victim; the boy behind is rubbing his already leathered hands to try and soothe them:
In 1848, George Mckarsie sued Archibald Dickson, schoolmaster of Auchtermuchty parish, for assaulting his son without provocation with a tawse âseverely on the head, face and arms to the effusion of his blood and to the loss, injury and damage of the pursuerâ. ÂŁ200 in damages were sought and although the court found in the pursuerâs favour he was awarded only a shilling and had to pay all expenses of the defender!Â
English education in contrast favoured birch rods or canes for classroom punishment and so where Scottish education was influenced by English practice (e.g. in Roman Catholic schools, or preparatory schools modelled after the English system) these devices could also be found in use in Scotland. They were also the form of judicial corporal punishment of minors in Scotland; the belt or strap was somewhat unique to the education setting.
A schoolmaster preparing to dispense classroom justice with his cane. 1870 engraving.
In 1860 the master of a private boarding School in Eastbourne, Thomas Hopley, shocked the Victorian world when he beat a 15-year-old pupil, Reginald Cancellor, to death with a skipping rope and walking stick as the boy ârefused to learnâ. Hopley administered the âsevere Corporal Punishmentâ with the full permission of the boyâs father to try and force him to learn. Reginald had been written off as unteachable and an imbecile; he was quite probably suffering from hydrocephaly and undiagnosed learning difficulties.Â
In the subsequent trial that was sensationalised by the press, Hopley was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to four years in prison. In summing up however, Chief Justice Alexander Cockburn stated that parents or schoolmasters were legally authorised to administer âmoderate and reasonable Corporal Punishmentâ for the purpose of âcorrecting what is evil in the childâ. As a result, the death of Reginald Cancellor became a test case for defending the use of educational Corporal Punishment. It also also set the Victorian educational establishment thinking about how it could formalise and legitimise the practice, rather than leave it to the individual devices of potentially sociopathic teachers.
"Neâer wield the tawse, when a gloom will dae the trick..."
(Scottish proverb, from âThe dominie : a profile of the Scottish headmaster.)Â
North of the border, in 1872 the Education (Scotland) Act had made education mandatory for all between the ages of five and thirteen, putting it largely under the control of city, burgh and parish School Boards. These bodies could issue their own regulations on the use of corporal punishment and it was in the Fife town of Lochgelly where the ultimate instrument of Scottish school discipline would appear around the year 1884. Saddler Robert Philp made a pair of tawse to his own design for his son and daughter who were pupil teachers at the East Public School in the parish His creation was split into a pair of thongs at the âpunishment endâ and was both stiff enough to stand up straight but flexible enough to swoosh through the air and make a good contact with the target, ideally wrapping around the hand to cause maximum effect. He rounded off the edges of the leather and used no stitching in order that his instrument would leave no permanent scars.
It is hard to the modern mind to imagine, but this was genuinely felt by the establishment to be a more humane and progressive form of Discipline than The Rod or The Cane. But the tawse was no soft option; Albert Morris wrote in the Scotsman that it âstung like a serpent and bit like an adder," literary historian David Daiches saying âI was astonished at the amount of real pain inflicted and the length of time it lasted."
Pupil Teachers were part of the Madras system of Education widely in use in Scotland at the time; older (teenage) students would stay on at school beyond 13 to assist the schoolmaster in educating their very large classes of mixed ages. They were allowed to inflict Corporal Punishment on their charges.Â
When other teachers saw the custom tawse used by Catherine and David Philp, they soon wanted their own, and their father started taking orders. The leather for the Tawse came from Edinburgh, it was specially âdry tannedâ to prevent cracking but remain both stiff and flexible. And so it was that 102 Main Street in Lochgelly became the birthplace of a profitable and unlikely Fife industry in the manufacture of devices with which to Spank Schoolchildren.
102 Main Street, Lochgelly
Robertâs son, Robert W., was apprenticed to his father and the firm became Robert Philp & Son. The latter would continue the business when his father died in 1926. There were imitators such as Brownlee of Bathgate or Campbell of Renfrewshire, but the Philpâs had much of the market and Lochgelly became a common name for all education tawse in Scotland.Â
When Robert W. Philp died, the business was bought over by its senior journeyman leatherworker, James Heggie, who continued to trade under the established name. He kept a stock of 300 in the shop in Lochgelly of single, double and triple-thonged types in a variety of weights and lengths, suitable for both male and female teachers and for belting children of all ages with progressively stronger effects with age.
When Heggie retired in 1948 he sold the business to an established local saddlery and ironmongery firm, G. W. Dick & Son, who had been producing their own Lochgellies since 1942. George W. Dick (who was married to a cousin of Jimmy Shand) concentrated the tawse business at his shop at 150 Main Street, Lochgelly. His son, John J. Dick, in turn bought him out when he retired in 1950. The âminiature school strapsâ listed at the bottom of the page are something one of the Dicks had produced for a child as a toy for playing schools and which had caught on. Teachers bought them for their children as a plaything; one imagines they were meant to beat their teddies. They were also popular retirement trinkets for teachers, something to remember the good old days.
Stamped with the R. Philip & Son makers, Lochgelly, Fife
By this time, Lochgelly was reckoned to account for probably 70% of all tawse production in Scotland. An exception to its dominance was in Glasgow, where the school authorities were particularly strict around its use and mandated the locally made, triple-thong Black Straps of lighter weight, thinner, black leather (which is softer than that used by the Lochgelly). Many teachers used the genuine item regardless of these regulations.
But regardless of where the strap was made or if it was black or brown, the tawse was âthe dominieâs rod of officeâ, indeed the ubiquity of its use may well be the origin of the phrase âgetting leatheredâ. The education system believed firmness of discipline equated to the quality of teaching. Wherever the Scottish education system influenced those of the colonies and dominions, orders would be sent back to Lochgelly for its tool of classroom discipline. The tawsemakers took out adverts in teaching journals and sent their salesmen to the education colleges to take orders. James Heggie would get orders of 20 or more at a time whenever a new school opened. Junior teachers were encouraged by their seniors to give children the belt as soon as they could so that the class knew they meant business and to earn the respect of both children and parents. Some new teachers didnât want to be marked out as a rookie with a shiny new tawse and so wrote into the wanted section of the newspapers asking to buy a visibly well worn second hand one, as did R. McKinnon to the Sunday Post in September 1965.
J. G. Stevenson manufacturerâs stamp on a Glasgow âblack strapâ.
In use the tawse was held over the shoulder and rapidly flicked forwards. Teachers were encouraged to practice on a piece of chalk on the desk â a successful strike got a puff of white dust. This became a trick of many experienced hands to try and scare children into compliance. But while judicial corporal punishment was abolished in 1948 with the authorities recognising it just didnât work as a deterrent, the educational establishment hung on doggedly to their legal right to apply it to children right down to the age of 4 as they saw fit. As a result, business remained good in Lochgelly, indeed in 1974 John J. Dick moved his premises to Cowdenbeath to concentrate on the tawse and updated the process by investing in a metric cutting press and a blocking machine with a heated stamp. When suitably heavyweight leather from cattle hides began to decline as a result of changing farm practices, Dicks started using Buffalo Butts instead to meet demand, which is actually horse leather.
John J. Dick price list for Tawse from 1971
Support for corporal punishment in education was publicly and officially high, but was certainly not universal. However, it was hard to speak up in an educational and political establishment that did not readily tolerate dissenting voices. But as early as 1931, Moderate councillor for George Square in Edinburgh, Charles Mackenzie, tried to have it banned by the city Education Committee. He said education âshould not be thrashed inâ and noted a school nicknamed âthe butcherâs shopâ on account of the strength of beatings. He was voted down 14-3 by the rest of the committee, with former teachers and a church minister who sat on it speaking up firmly in favour of the practice and to âuphold teachersâ rightsâ.
In 1959, the Edinburgh Education Committee issued restrictive rules for corporal punishment in childrenâs homes â it could only be inflicted by a matron, house-mother or house-father, men could not punish girls, there could be no more than 3 strokes to each hand and only by the tawse. By the 1960s, a new generation of post-war born, progressively-minded teachers was coming into the system with new ideas. Dissent slowly began to grow within the teaching establishment and there was a recognition that there were alternatives to trying to simply beat children into compliance or knowledge into them. But while the Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS, the principal teachersâ union) accepted change was inevitable regarding corporal punishment in schools, it took something of a âcircle the wagonsâ approach that it was up to the profession alone to regulate it and not the authorities.
In Edinburgh in 1970 it was reported some schools strapped any child who was late more than three times. Education Committee chairman Councillor Malcolm Knox fretted this might make children run across the road but his Progressive party colleague Councillor Cornelius Waugh defended the idea, otherwise it might âopen the door to malingerersâ. In February 1972, a relatively new member on the Committee, Councillor George Foulkes (thatâs Baron Foulkes of Cumnock these days) tried to have a ban on corporal punishment instituted in primary and special schools â and severe restrictions put on its use in secondary schools â but was voted down. The local EIS branch was having none of this challenge; they âdeplored the fact that the committee had adopted the anti-corporal punishment resolution without first consulting teachersâ. Its position was steadfast that it was the teachers and teachers alone who âwere the sole judgesâ of when conditions had been achieved for any forms of restriction. One parent wrote into the Scotsman in response with the astute observation that teachers had never consulted parents over their right to belt children.
The following month, Foulkes instead had the committee agree to explore options as to how to achieve the phasing-out of Corporal Punishment in the cityâs schools. Bailie John Bateman (a senior Progressive councillor) criticised Foulkes and those in his party who motivated his position as âa few young hotheads with a bee on their bonnetsâ. But others on the Progressive side, including former committee chairman Malcolm Knox, supported him. By November 1972 the Corporation of Edinburgh was under control of a Labour administration for the first time and the Education Committee passed a vote by 16-9 which compelled headteachers to keep a log of all occasions on which children were belted in the cityâs schools. The EIS â described in the Scotsman as âthe body most vehemently opposedâ to this idea â and four other teaching unions (the Association of Head Teachers, Scottish Schoolmasters Association, Diploma College Education Association and Scottish Secondary Teachers Association) sent unsuccessful deputations against it. A year later, November 1973, the Education Committee finally took a vote on abolition of corporal punishment. The EIS threatened to take legal action, stating that 98% of its membership supported it and that a ban would result in children attacking each other with broken bottles and stones in the playground. Eric Thompson, âa teacher of 20 yearsâ wrote to the papers to state that such a ban would âresult in anarchy in many of our schoolsâ. Faced with such challenges, Foulkes replied âas long as I am receiving complaints from parents of terrorisation by teachers in the classroom I think this is an excellent reason for getting rid of Corporal Punishmentâ.
Despite the vocal nature of the official opposition, on November 19th, the Committee voted by the slim margin of 14-13 to progressively ban corporal punishment. From 1974 it was to be banned from Primary 1-4; in Primary 5-7 from 1975; in Secondary 4-6 in 1975-6 and Secondary 1-3 in 1976-77. But this ban never materialised. Why was that? Between 1974-75, the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 abolished the old Corporation of the City of Edinburgh and split its powers and functions between the new Lothian Regional Council and Edinburgh District Council. Education went to the much larger body of Lothian Regional Council, which also included what is now Mid, West and East Lothian, and Edinburghâs recent unilateral ban fell by the wayside.
But the ball against Corporal Punishment in schools had started to roll and despite this setback it began to gather pace. In 1976 Grace Campbell, whose son attended St. Matthewâs in Bishopbriggs and Jane Cosans, whose son attended Beath High in Fife, lodged an action in the European Court of Human Rights against the British government, objecting to its use on the grounds that it was against parental human rights to go against their wishes for their children not to receive corporal punishment. (Jeffrey Cosans had been told to receive punishment with the tawse for taking a short-cut home from school through a cemetery but with his parentsâ approval had been told to refuse to accept it. The school excluded him on this basis and aged just 15, he never returned to education) Although this case however would not begin to progress within the ECHR until 1980 and would not start hearing until late 1981, it was followed closely and assumptions began to be made based on the likely outcome. Returning to 1977, George Foulkes â by now Chairman of Lothian Regionâs Education Committee â was âflabbergastedâ to find out the tawse was being used in the Regionâs special schools. âI find this barbaric, abhorrent and amazingâ he said and ordered the Regionâs Director of Education to assure him it would cease henceforth. The response was that the Director did not know if he had the legal powers to prevent its use and so a 17-member working group was established to evaluate options.
The working group, supported (and in part, driven) by organisations such as the Scottish Council for Civil Liberties and STOPP (Society of Teachers Opposed to Physical Punishment), commissioned the first thorough survey on the use of the tawse in schools, based on the logging that had been instituted in Edinburgh way back in 1973. While it was found that some primary schools were not using it at all (around 10 in Lothian had informally given it up), it also reported that only 1 in 20 boys could expect to get through their schooling without receiving the tawse and that it was disproportionately used against boys as opposed to girls. But there was one, perhaps unlikely, secondary school which was bucking the trend â Craigroyston. This was a former junior secondary which the council had repeatedly threatened to close and whose pupils came from some of the most deprived housing schemes in the city. Under an enlightened, reformist headteacher, Hugh Mackenzie, the school had seen a 95% decline in the use of corporal punishment during the study period. Mackenzie was determined to steer his school away from authoritarianism and to an institution for simply maintaining discipline until children could be kicked out the door into one that would instead give hope and respect to children otherwise labelled by the system as failures.
Hugh Mackenzie, from his autobiography âCraigroyston Days, 1972-93â
Mackenzie had relaxed policies on uniform, realising his students came from families who could ill afford it.He was careful tried to include and build consensus with both his staff and his students when it came to policy-making and literally âthrew open the front doorâ to the latter; previously they had not been allowed to use it. In August 1980, he put it to the staff that they should withdraw the use of the tawse completely, for 1 session, on a trial basis. The staff debated the idea and supported their head. At the end of the trial, it was the staff themselves who raised the motion to ban it completely. And so it was in August 1981 that Craigroyston High formally voted to ban the use of Corporal Punishment within its walls, the first in Scotland to do so. It is notable that this ban came from within the teaching establishment itself, showing how much things had changed.
Over in the west of the country, Strathclyde Regional Council was being rather less enlightened. In 1980 it took Margaret Mcguire to court over as 13-year-old son Danny had not been at school for 14 months since refusing to accept the Black Strap. The boy had been caught playing tig in a corridor and had been sent to the headmaster for punishment; when he refused to accept this he was sent home. His parents supported him in this refusal and asked the school to withdraw the punishment; when this in turn was refused, the school excluded him until such time as he would submit to the belting. The first court case fell apart when it was found that it was Dannyâs father (and not mother) who had initially supported him in his act of defiance and therefore the wrong parent was in court. It then failed on appeal when Lord Emslie was ruled that it was the school which had excluded the boy, rather than his parents refusing to ensure he attended. This was something of a watershed as it effectively removed the unchallengeable right of the local authority to apply the corporal punishment against parental wishes.
On January 20th 1982, Lothian Regional Council took the bold step and voted to abolish corporal punishment in all its schools â the first local authority in Scotland or the UK to do so. The vote was put forward by Labour Councillor John Mulvey and went through despite opposition from the Conservative grouping and the EIS. Henry Philip, chairman of the regional branch, said âyoung people would roam the streetsâ if it was banned, that teachers would not accept it and that they would take the Region to court. The case of Campbell and Cosans vs. The United Kingdom at the ECHR in Strasbourg would make its landmark ruling 5 days later that it was against parental human rights for the authorities to apply corporal punishment to a child against their wishes. Lothianâs ban came into effect on April 2nd 1982. Strathclyde had voted in favour of a ban around the same time, but this did not come into effect until August. Conservative Councillor Leonard Turpie said the âdecision would haunt the council for years to come.â
In anticipation of the ECHR judgement Scottish Secretary George Younger had issued advice (but not an order) that all Regions should consult on the phasing out corporal punishment in the 1983-4 teaching session. The previous year, Younger had rejected a move to ban corporal punishment on children with special needs when confronted with the example of an eleven year old boy with one hand who was to be given âsix of the bestâ on each palm but instead received the whole punishment on his sole hand and that of an eight year old girl strapped on a hand that had suffered a recent finger amputation. In the face of Youngerâs refusal to take a hard line on the issue, some of the Regional Councils set a course of defying the Scottish Secretary. In 1983, Grampian voted against banning corporal punishment in its schools. In January 1984, Borders did likewise, against the recommendations of its own Education Committee. David Steel MP, leader of the Liberal Party, wrote to Younger in February to ask him if he would overrule the hold-out authorities by introducing legislation. When he declined to do so, Tayside Regional Council sensed weakness and reversed their previous decision to ban the belt. Tom Daveney, Rector of Monifieth High, said âphasing-out corporal punishment without adequate safeguards could jeopardise freedom to teach and learnâ, a prime example of the entrenched position of many in the teaching profession which equated education and physical discipline.
Grampian Region now joined the pile-on. Their Education Vice Convenor, Conservative Harry Sim, said he was âquite convinced that [corporal punishment is] the wish of the majority of the parentsâ. But his Region also let it be known they might consider changing their position if more money was made available to them; George Younger declined, unsurprisingly. The dominoes continued to tumble in the face Younger; Western Isles reversed their decision to ban the belt in secondary schools in June 1984 after representations from the EIS and retained a limited use policy instead. Faced with such defiance, in July Younger finally declared that a partial ban would be introduced, in line with what Borders, Tayside and Grampian wanted. By January 1985, all except those hold-out authorities and Western Isles had moved to introduce a voluntary phase-out. In September that year, the Labour grouping in Grampian attempted to force a ban through. At this time the belt was still in use in about half the secondary schools in the area, but the council voted by a resounding 26-6 vote against any change to the status quo.
Down in Westminster, in an attempt to comply with the letter but perhaps not the spirit of the ECHR judgement, the Conservative Government had moved to bring in a bill for a partial ban for all of UK state-sector education, but one complete with various opt-outs. Labour and the Liberal Alliance refused to support this, or anything other than a full ban. Despite the hold outs of some Scottish local authorities and parts of the teaching establishment, on July 1st 1986 the matter was resolved by Westminster â by a single vote â with the introduction of a complete ban in all (state) schools on corporal punishment. This came into effect in August 1987.
But that wasnât quite the end of our story, or the tawse. These devices were still in demand for domestic use and in private schools (where corporal punishment was allowed until 1998 in England, 2000 in Scotland and 2003 in Northern Ireland).Â
There was also a substantial adult market and kink magazines carried adverts such as this:
Wladyk Borakâs tawse for sale, ScotlandÂ
on Sunday â 10th November 1996
In 1986, a rather embarrassed cobbler on St. Stephen Street in Stockbridge â Wladyk Borak â admitted to the reporter of the Scotland on Sunday that the tawse he was making and selling in his shop had a dedicated following; âpeople use them privately, to chastise⌠each other."
In an odd finale to our story, in 2000 the daughter of the late John J. Dick, tawsemaker of Lochgelly, returned to the family craft of leatherworking and now once again makes Lochgelly tawse for sale in Fife.

A Look at Obedience in a Domestic Discipline Relationship
Thereâs a quiet power in knowing when to keep your mouth shut. I admit, I mostly do not have that power.
Last night while getting ready for dinner, I made Daddy really upset because I was in a rush for an 8pm meeting. Work and life interrupts and can ruin even healthy Domestic Discipline relationships. I deserved to have my behind beaten for what I did, but instead, Daddy and I had a silent dinner where he was just fuming. I look back on last night and think, "Wow, we didn't really honor our agreement." Being in a long term Domestic Discipline relationship, consistency can drift.Â
Most of the world has forgotten this bit of wisdom silence is golden. Conversations today are overlapping, overlapping, overlappingâeveryone racing to react, to correct, to defend, to be heard first and loudest. But inside a Domestic Discipline relationship, the old Rule your grandparents lived by still stands, carved in stone:
Daddy speaks.
boy listens.Â
Daddy finishes.Â
Then and only then does boy open his mouth.Â
Simple enough, right?Â
Wrong.
In our modern world as Men, society has expectations for us, and one of them is to dominate conversation, work, sport, competition, and much much more. So if you've been a Man for a decade or more, you will find doing this challenging when you get home from work and trying to be Daddy's boy.
When Daddy's boy interrupts, he isnât just being rude. Heâs reaching up and yanking the steering wheel out of Daddyâs hands while the car is doing seventy down the highway. In a dynamic built on deliberate, chosen inequality, that single act of cutting Daddy off slices straight through the chain of command. It says, without words, âYour authority ends where my impulse begins.âDo you really want that to be the way your relationship works?Â
Is that really why you got into a relationship like this in the first place?Â
This one habitâwaiting until Daddy has said every last word he intends to sayâlooks small on the surface. In reality, it is the single most consistent daily proof you care about your role as the boy in your relationship. It keeps the home from lighting on fire, making Daddy fume, like mine did last night was. It keeps Daddy firmly in the driverâs seat. And when itâs ignored, it should be the fastest way to earn a long, painful reminder across your backside. Not showing that respect to Daddy should have a price, but it's for a good reason. A good reason that can save your relationship.
What happens when a boy brakes the Rule to not be to Daddy? Let's look at three real-life examples where issues can arise that take you out of your chosen role within your relationship. Youâll probably recognize these from your own relationships, vanilla or otherwise, and how a Daddy who Disciplines can turn every interruption into a lesson his boy will never forget.
Example 1: Disagreements Over Contentious Issues
Hot Issues That Make You Speak Disrespectfully:Â How do you handle them in real time?
Itâs Sunday evening. Daddy sits the boy down at the kitchen table with the laptop open to the banking app and a printed list of upcoming bills. He begins calmly explaining why they need to cut back on the boyâs discretionary spendingâspecifically, the $250 monthly âfun moneyâ the boy has been using on video games and takeout. Daddy is only two sentences in (âNext month we have the car insurance renewal and your dental crown, soâŚâ) when the boyâs face flushes and he blurts out, âThatâs not fair! You promised I could have that money for myself, and Iâve been good!âDaddy stops mid-sentence. The air in the room changes. The boy has just overridden Daddyâs authority in an important domain (money) that directly affects the security and order of their home. Daddy has two choices:Â
Explain why this budgeting process is super important and the boy needs to cut back.
Explain why the boy is disrespecting his Daddy's authority on this important issue.
Let's take the second choice, because listening to the first choice could go on for 6 pages of back and forth no one really wants to hear. Do you? Instead, Daddy closes the laptop, stands up, and says, âCorner. Pants down. Now.â Fifteen minutes later the boy is standing in The Corner with a very red, very sore bottom with the âfinance paddleâ that only comes out because of disrespect at this scale. After Cornertime, Daddy brings him back to the table, re-opens the laptop, and finishes the exact same sentence he started earlier without a single interruption. "You will sit on that sore fanny of yours until we're done. Only when Daddy says, "Iâm done speaking. Now, what do you think," is the boy to respondârespectfully. In some relationships these questions or the boy's ideas can come with a "Sir" at the end of each one: "Listening to you just now, I have thought of a better way to manage that particular expense, Sir." Daddy should actively listen and think, not respond immediately. Pausing shows you are considerate of your boy too. Now in this safer space, Daddy can work with his boy thoughtfully to adjust the budget.
Another approach, which could be more punitive, financially speaking, is that Daddy simply stops the boy's $250 allowance for the next two months, and the boy writes 200 lines: âI will not interrupt Daddy when he is talking.â Let me be clear: The Spanking or the restriction on the boy's allowance isnât for disagreeing with the budget. Disagreements over finances are important, and no boy should accept blindly what his Daddy decides to do financially. Heck, the boy might be a financial analyst by day, and Daddy should be listening to the boy! However, at night, that financial analyst is Daddy's boy, and if he expects to live in a Domestic Discipline relationship happily, he'd better behave like it or expect to be corrected about his role in the relationship.Â
Example 2: Bad Behavior In Front of Friends or Family
Have you ever been at this dinner? It's awkward for everyone.
Daddy and boy are out for dinner with two vanilla friends. Daddy is telling a story about a recent work trip when the boyâeager to be funny and get a laughâcuts in loudly with, âYeah, but you forgot to mention how you got lost for forty-five minutes because you refuse to use Google Maps!â The table laughs, but Daddyâs jaw tightens. The boy just publicly undermined Daddyâs authority in front of others.
The table erupts in laughter. Daddy forces a tight smile, but his eyes go stone-cold. The boy feels it instantly, that sick little drop in his stomach that says he just crossed a bright red line in public.
The rest of the meal is excruciating. Daddy is polite to their friends, but every time the boy opens his mouth Daddyâs hand settles it on his boy's thigh under the table â a silent grip that says, "What the heck are you doing?"
In situations like this, I dive into my phone on the car ride home. Daddy is silent and will sometimes crank the music. It doesn't tend to help, really. The second we part, the silence performance ends.
In our example, Daddy parks the car, he walks over to the boy's side of the car and grabs him by the upper arm and marches him through the front door and into the master bathroom. He flips on the light switch to the bathroom and reaches into the cabinet under the sink and pulls out the bar of Ivory soap they keep specifically for this purpose. (Of course, this approach to Discipline must be already approved or set down in their written Rules ahead of time. No Daddy should launch into this without the full consent of his boy ahead of time.)
Disrespect can earn a mouth-soaping in addition to, or instead of, The Spanking.
Under that consent, at Daddyâs discretion, Disrespect can earn a mouth-soaping in addition to, or instead of, The Spanking. This helps so both know that the boy has no one to blame but his own smart mouth.
Daddy runs the bar under warm water until he gets a lather on his palms, âOpen your mouth." Daddy slides the bar across his tongue, back and forth, coating every surface. Then he works it between cheek and gums usually having to use his fingers or a washcloth. Depending on the size of the bar, he will work the soap under the boy's tongue and along the roof of his mouth. The taste is immediate and overwhelming â sharp, chemical, humiliating. The boy gags, and his face will go pretty red.
âIf you wanted to talk over me in front of our friends,â Daddy says calmly, although obviously agitated, âThen you'll taste exactly what disrespect feels like." This If/then structure of Discipline makes clear the problem, and enables the boy to more easily learn from his mistakes. Daddy leaves the bar sitting on the boyâs tongue for a full minute while the boy is instructed to bite down. Foam begins to leak from the corners of the boyâs mouth and drips onto his shirt or the counter/sink. The humiliation is worse than the taste, though. Humiliation is the point, because it reflects back to the boy, what he did in public.
When Daddy finally removes the bar, it's a good idea to instruct the boy on what he is to do next. One approach could be to bring him a glass of water and tell the boy, âRinse then spit it out into the sink. Do not swallow.â The boy swishes and spits into the sink. The taste lingers as the Punishment lasts beyond the experience at the sink.
Daddy cups the boyâs chin, forcing eye contact. âYou will not speak again tonight unless I ask you a direct question. Tomorrow morning you will write âI will let Daddy finish speaking in front of othersâ one hundred times before coffee," Reinforcing the Punishment, Daddy continues, âAnd the next time we go out with our friends, you will behave properly, like the respectful boy I know you can be. Am I making myself clear?â
âAnd the next time we go out with our friends, you will behave properly, like the respectful boy I know you can be. Am I making myself clear?â
âYes, Sir,â the boy responds.
âGet in The Corner immediately. Ten minutes. Then you're going to bed.â
The boy shuffles to The Corner where he is sent when he breaks House Rules, mouth still soapy and tasting every bit of the lesson he earned.
When they return to the same restaurant group the following month, Daddy might apply a Behinder Reminder swat on the boy's behind before entering and reminding him of how this is supposed to go. The boy sits (gingerly, if he's not already gotten the point) and doesn't speak until Daddy has completely finished any story or point. The friends notice the difference but likely say nothing because this is new to them.
Friends, both vanilla and otherwise, can feel when a relationship takes a positive turn like this. They have very likely never enjoyed having dinner with a boy who interrupts his Daddy all the time. Though they may not even know the two are in a Domestic Discipline relationship, they know a relationship where respect has been earned and given. It makes everyone more comfortable, everytime.
Some couples don't need mouth-soaping regularly. Others like the boy in our example here, need the occasional reminder that the same mouth he uses to get out of hand or sass Daddy back is the same one that can get him paddled or suds-ed when he forgets whoâs in charge of it.
Example 3: The Simple Realities of 21st Century Online Life
Itâs 11:30 p.m. and the boy has an early meeting the next morning, but heâs still scrolling on his phone in bed. Daddy walks in, turns off the overhead light, and says, âPhone down, lights out. I thought we agreed that we'd turn off our devices 30 minutes before bedtime. I did, why haven't â?â The boy, tired and cranky, snaps, âIâm not a child! I just need five more minutes, maybe more. â What's happened here isn't that the boy doesn't need more time on his phone, but he's cutting Daddy off mid-sentence. That is breaking a Rule to respect your Daddy, not a Rule about phone use. Sure, the phone should probably be taken away and put in a jar in the kitchen until morning. But that's a different matter.Â
Here's one way for this Daddy to resolve this situation.
âYou know that's not how we do things in this relationship. You aren't respecting the relationship and the Rules, you're getting a Spanking..."
Without raising his voice, he simply takes the phone, sets it on the dresser, and says, âYou know that's not how we do things in this relationship. You aren't respecting the relationship and the Rules, you're getting a Spanking. Now get up.â The boy hesitates one second too long, and Daddy adds, âOr I double it.âÂ
The boy stands up, Daddy drops his pajamas, and pulls him across Daddy's lap. Daddy pulls down the boys underpants and administers a sound Spanking that leaves the boy promising to respect Daddy in the future.Â
Because this is a recurring issue, Daddy may decide a stronger message is needed. After The Spanking, the boy is sent to the guest room maybe with a large plug pushed into place by Daddy and white underpants onlyânonSpanking humiliation combined with physical reminder can help to emphasize the importance of Daddy's role, if the boy does this repeatedly over time.Â
Not every Punishment needs to be Spankings.Â
Instead, Daddy can try nonSpanking solutions, particularly when dealing with repeated problems that will inevitably crop up in our lives. You can't Spank away recurring issues. I think Disrespect caused by us boys being adults is one of them.Â
In the example above, perhaps Daddy doesn't allow the boy back in Daddyâs big bed until he has gone three consecutive nights handing his phone into Daddy and not breaking any other House Rules. At the end of the third night, Daddy might consider requiring that the boy ask permission to return to Daddy's bed, âDaddy, may I please sleep in your bed tonight? I will do my best to respect you and your decisions.â
At this juncture, Daddy can decide if handing the phone back and letting his boy back into his bed is a good idea or not. It's important and helpful to establish a system that conveys that these things are privileges and not rights. In a vanilla relationship, these would be your right as the equal partner. But in a Daddy/boy relationship, maintaining and regulating the privileges a boy earns can be essential to keeping the dynamic alive and vibrant.
_________________________________________
In today's post, we've covered three very different situations where a boy disrespects his Daddy â one about contentious issues, another in public behavior getting out of hand, and final one of breaking agreed upon Rules â yet the common thread is the same. The boyâs impulsive need to speak before Daddy has finished. Each time, the correction is memorable and directly tied to the behavior. The result? A qhappier home, a more confident Daddy, and a boy who is learningâsometimes the hard wayâthat letting Daddy finish is not just polite. In their dynamic, it is the foundation of respect itself.boys, the next time you feel that urge to jump in, defend, show Daddy he is wrong, or joke at his expense:
Your bottom, your mouth, and your relationship, will thank you for it.
