Indulge in the heavenly combination of flaky pie crust and rich chocolate filling with these delectable chocolate hand pies. They're perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth and can be enjoyed as a delightful snack or dessert.
Ingredients: 1 package refrigerated pie crusts 2 crusts. 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips. 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder. 1/4 cup granulated sugar. 1/4 cup heavy cream. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1 egg for egg wash. Powdered sugar for dusting.
Instructions: Adjust the oven temperature to 375F 190C and place parchment paper on a baking sheet. Place the heavy cream and semisweet chocolate chips in a bowl that is safe to use in the microwave. Heat the chocolate for 20 seconds at a time, stirring in between, until it melts completely and becomes smooth. Add the vanilla extract, granulated sugar, and cocoa powder to the melted chocolate mixture and stir. Blend until thoroughly blended. Roll out the chilled pie crusts and cut circles out of the dough with a round cutter about 4 inches in diameter. Leaving space around the edges, place a spoonful of the chocolate filling onto one half of each dough circle. To form a half-moon, fold the remaining dough circle over the chocolate filling. To seal the pies, press down on the edges using a fork. For a glossy finish, beat the egg and brush it over the hand pies' tops. The chocolate hand pies should be baked for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown, in the preheated oven, after being placed on the prepared baking sheet. After taking the pies out of the oven, allow them to cool for a short while. When serving, dust with powdered sugar. Savor your mouthwatering, handmade chocolate hand pies!
