The Shrimp and Chive Dumplings are a tasty and salty treat. When you mix fresh shrimp and chives, you get a delicious filling that is packed full of flavor. You can either steam or fry these dumplings, and they will taste great either way.
Ingredients: 200g fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined. 1 cup fresh chives, finely chopped. 1 clove garlic, minced. 1 teaspoon ginger, minced. 2 tablespoons soy sauce. 1 tablespoon sesame oil. 1/2 teaspoon white pepper. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1 package dumpling wrappers. Water, for sealing dumplings. Vegetable oil, for frying.
Instructions: Finely chop the fresh shrimp and place them in a mixing bowl. Add the chopped chives, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, white pepper, and salt to the bowl with the shrimp. Mix everything thoroughly to combine. Take a dumpling wrapper and place a spoonful of the shrimp and chive mixture in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water and fold it in half, pressing the edges together to seal the dumpling. You can create pleats along the edge for a decorative touch. Repeat the process with the remaining dumpling wrappers and filling. Heat a large skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat and add a bit of vegetable oil. Place the dumplings in the skillet in a single layer, making sure they don't touch each other. Fry the dumplings for 2-3 minutes until the bottoms turn golden brown. Carefully pour in enough water to cover the bottom of the skillet and immediately cover with a lid. Reduce heat to medium-low and let the dumplings steam for about 5-7 minutes or until the wrappers become translucent and the filling is cooked through. Remove the lid and continue to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes or until the bottoms crisp up again. Serve hot with dipping sauce of your choice.
