hold on a fucking second. delaware is a state?? i thought it was a river? or is the river more important than the state? why don't i know this? (i should mention i don't like in america, i'm just confused)
there is delaware (state) and delaware (river)Â
both are equally strange
the state is a tiny little cryptid thing
the rive is a monster that spans new york, pennsylvania, new jersey and delaware. also washington crossed it once and that was like kinda a big deal i guess. like crossing the rubicon in rome.
the state tries to me more important with its âim the first state!!!â bs (seriously its even on the fucking license plates) but we all know. its the river.
THATS TUPPERWARE
i thought delaware was a place in ohio? why are there so many things named delaware?
delaware is too powerful
what the fuck
Wait what? I thought Delaware was a store with building supplies. Like paint, wood, nails and stuff?
THATS HOME DEPOT ???
I know home depot, but dude I don't know anything about America mad have never been there. Are you sure there is not a some sort of store called something close to Delaware!?!
.....ace hardware....?
this post has only been around for a few hours but could very well be a world heritage post
but at what cost
This post launched at 8am PST on 12 Feb 2021. The above conversation has happened in 3 hours.
he WHAT? i thought he was from. w. wait. ???
delaware stole the presidents shoelaces for clout and became too powerful
From the UK- and what do you mean Delaware isn't a type of ceramic?
it is now
@hellsite-hall-of-fame is it too early?
Isnât delaware what they make computers on???
software ??
I think they meant Dell Ware, a specific computer type. We had a Dell computer once.
I thought Delaware was that famous singer they spoofed in Zootopia.
gazelle??
oh i thought delaware was that one british singer lady, you know, the one from chasing pavements
that's fucking adele
isnât delaware that place you go when you die
youre thinking of superhell and all of you are going there
how the fuck did any of you come to the conclusions you all made
we live in america?
I thought Delaware was that food delivery service that keeps interrupting youtube videos with their ads when I'm trying to have a good time
..... are you talking about Doordash???
Isn't Delawere the name of that one girl in the song that goes "Hey there, Delawere"? She's from NYC or something.
THATS HEY THERE DELILAH
Pausing here to point out that op is âdear-AO3âł and now Iâm wondering if Delaware fanfic would be categorized as RSF (real state fic) or AU (alternate unitedstates)
stop i do not want to think about thisÂ
Isnât Delaware that SPN ship that exploded the internet
Everyone on this post:
I love that the âno, thatâs [x]â meme is making a comeback here and only here and nobody has any idea whatâs going on
Keep up the good work, we can make poor OP have a melt down yet.Â
Isn't delaware that one brand of pizza that's like "it's not delivery, it's delaware."
isn't delaware the god of the sea
Isn't Delaware the name of that guy who painted the Mona Lisa?
delaware is that one evil cyborg guy that has a son named Luke and a red laser sword
Thats Darth Vader. Im pretty sure Delaware is that other red-laser sword guy. You know. The one that stabbed Qui-Gon.
what have i created
I usually only reblog older posts, but this definitely deserves to be in every tumblr hall of fame
this post has only existed for 8 days.Â
This is fantastic because it goes great with my theory that Delaware only exists for tax purposes. Like, all the states really only exists for Tax Purposes, but Delaware is particularly fake because back in 2012 I got lost in the Alleged Delaware Area looking trying to get to a family reunion, but every time I pulled over for directions, I would ask what the hell state I was in now, and I went through Mayland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey AND Virginia and I never fucking found Delaware but I did eventually find the Family Reunion and earned the repsepct of my then-prospective- Great-Grandmother-In-Law by saving her favorite grandchildren from a furious oceangoing horse so Iâm convinced that not only is the state a purely legal construct, they didnât even dedicate any landmass to it, or itâs a govât blackzone where the carnivorous horses live.
World Heritage Post
fun fact, i actually drove through delaware on this posts 6 month birthday. i hate it here.
This post literally fills me with life, tysm.
This post confused the heck out of me, I don't even know what's going on in this post, why the hell am I rebloging it?
found this and IMMEDIATLY made it my banner LOL
Im posting a lot today dang!

Video of Tama
Follow Ultrafacts for more facts
The picture in the background of the second one
Tama is boss
THE TRAINS HAVE CARTOON TAMAS ON THEM
Sad update everyone, Tama recently passed away⊠An estimated 3,000 people, including railway officials, attended Tama the catâs funeral on Sunday, days after she died of heart failure aged 16. [x]
For those who havenât read articles about it, the local shrine elevated her to a god. Sheâs now the Eternal Stationmaster and patron god of the station.
Beautiful.
Now Iâm crying thanks
and a new cat was hired right?
yep! her name is Nitama (essentially âsecond tamaâ or âtama IIâ) and she served under Tama as an apprentice before being appointed her deputy
she works very hard
Everytime this crosses my dash, I reblog. It is the law.
Iâm crying at 11pm over train cats
Nitama, already now a mature cat (born 2010), has a protege named Yontama (fourth Tama, b. 2016). There is no information available for either the physical befellment or tragic self-disgrace which has removed Santama from contention.
^Nitama majestic, and below with Yontama
Yontama.
a legacy
okay but actually what happened to santama (or sun-tama-tama, which is her name because itâs a pun on santama) was that she was basically sent to train for the position in okayama and they liked her so much they refused to send her back
âSun-tama-tamaâ (a pun off of âSantamaâ, lit. âthird Tamaâ) was a calico cat sent for training in Okayama. Sun-tama-tama was considered as a candidate for Tamaâs successor, but the Okayama Public Relations representative who had been caring for Sun-tama-tama refused to give the cat up writing, âI will not let go of this child, she will stay in Okayama.â [25]
As of September 2018, Sun-tama-tama is working as the stationmaster in Naka-ku, Okayama and appears occasionally on Tamaâs Twitter account.
Every time I see this post thereâs new info and it gets better
You are only allowed to scroll pass this after you pay tribute to the great Tama Station masters.
The shrine of Tama DaimyĆjin (Great gracious deity Tama), next to the Kishi station where she worked.
Nitama presenting her yearly offerings to Tama DaimyĆjin on the anniversary of Tamaâs Death, June 23 (The offerings are presented by the company president, as Nitama is a cat and thus canât hold the offerings herself) (Not pictured, but also present, Yontama)
you cannot pass without reblogging guys. iâm sorry, i donât make the rules.
You canât not reblog a goddess. Itâs just whatâs so. :)
So, fun fact- the manga Noragami has an arc where the main character, Yato (a minor kami/God that is down on his luck but trying to make it big time) goes to a council/conference for all the Gods in Japan.
And they are announcing the winner of the âup and coming godâ award, and of course, Yato thinks itâs him.
But no-
ITS TAMA!
Just to update⊠yes, there is a Gotama (âFifth Tamaâ) now, introduced in January of this year.
Wakayama Electric Railwayâs tradition of feline stationmasters has a new face: Gotama, who joined the team as stationmaster in January 2025.
Nitama and Yontama are still alive and still working. Gotama is Nitamaâs second assistant.
Also, thereâs not enough pictures of Sun-Tama-Tama in this thread, so have this one:
Sadly, Nitama died last December, so today Yontama stepped up as full stationmaster. Rokutama (âSixth Tamaâ) was also introduced as a new trainee.
The Kishigawa Line drew attention after it named cat Tama its first feline stationmaster in 2007. Read more at straitstimes.com. Read more a
Another Tama has hit the railways!!
There are a lot of really dog shit things in the world of tech that can be solved with a bit of time, some stubborn googling and maybe some special hardware and piracy is only the tip of the iceberg.Â
Printers are notorious for claiming theyâre out of ink when they havenât come close to the suggested number of prints, and their cartridges literally still have ink in them. So after a bit of googling I found out how to âresetâ a cartridges automatic stopping system (its literally 1 physical wheel on the cartridge that you gotta turn back). The only downside is that I donât get a digital ink monitor, but since it told me it was empty when still half full, I donât mind.Â
Like, you can just jiggle with some shit and solve one of the biggest money making scams in the post-industrial world and I donât think people realise its that easy.Â
Or, like, repairing your own technology. A few months ago, I swapped out my sisterâs laptop screen. Did it myself, I removed maybe 4 screws, no vital parts were exposed and it cost me $40. I even got a choice of matte or glossy.Â
My point is, any walls that capitalist technology presents you with will be a false one. And one already broken by a dedicated community of interesting people working hard for free to break down that wall.
kids these days will be all âbe gay do crimeâ and dont even know how to watch a cartoon without paying for it smh
IN FAIRNESS
piracy was definitely leagues easier a decade or so ago when thepiratebay was functional, megaupload was still running, and YouTube and Google made only the most cursory attempts to block copyright content. like letâs not pretend that the internet hasnât got a lot more corporatised in the past decade or so. piracy is still possible and you can and should do it but itâs a LOT harder to do safely and reliably than it was.
^thank u
Sorry, this is all wrong.
1) ThePirateBay is still functional. (Itâs not the same pirate bay that it was back in the day, but letâs not get into Theseusâ ship territory. Itâs still here and it still works, thatâs all that matters.) There are plenty of torrent sites around, more than there were 10 years ago â although overall traffic has plummeted. Now as then, itâs a whack-a-mole game.
2) Why was it âleagues easierâ a decade ago? Some countries, not all (not north America, for example), now mandate ISP blocking of torrent sites, but this new complication can be bypassed with one (1) step: a google duckduckgo search for proxies. No government agency or ISP can possibly keep up with proxies, itâs yet another whack-a-mole game. So yes, it was technically easier before, but I donât see âleaguesâ anywhere.
3) It was safer before? Are you shitting me? Have you lot forgotten that the legal departments of MPAA and RIAA sued torrent sharers (not even uploaders) and asked for millions of dollars for damages? AND GOT THEM? (By which I mean they didnât actually get millions since the people they sued didnât have any, but said people were convicted and ruined and that was the goal in the first place. It was a deeply amoral and cynical scare tactic.) Well they stopped doing that at some point, and focused on hunting P2P and torrent sites. Running a site is certainly less safe today. Using one, though? Depending on where you are, the ISP may be allowed to block you after repeated instances, and thatâs it. Youâre not getting in trouble with the law or into crippling debt. And either way thereâs only a minuscule chance that any of this will come to pass, which becomes zero (0) with a VPN. (Safety of course depends on the country, and in some cases piracy is the least of your concerns. Letâs not get into that.)
4) Ten years ago there was no Sci-Hub, and Library Genesis was in its infancy. If today itâs harder to find PDFs on google, it is orders of magnitude easier and more reliable to find them elsewhere. People just have to unstick their minds from the notion that stuff is either on google or doesnât exist at all. Geez.
5) P2P still exists. IRC (the sharing channels in particular, #bookz and the like) still exists. Torrenting functions like it always did. All these methods are exactly as easy to use as before, i.e. not necessarily a piece of cake, thereâs a learning curve. But itâs the same learning curve it was 10 years ago.
6) So what have we lost? Only YouTube (meh, the film/tv quality was appalling anyway, and music is still there) and direct downloads (at least the permanent ones: there are plenty of them still around, but files expire and you need to keep track of what goes up when. So this goes beyond knowhow, itâs about internet communities. Letâs not get into that either, itâs a huge subject.) Itâs a loss, sure, but I wouldnât call it a terrible blow.
7) And in exchange for that loss, we got streaming sites. This is piracy, too, and itâs much much easier than torrents, and tons of people do it. Any âpiracy has declinedâ narrative either implies that weâre excluding streaming from the discussion for some reason, or is flat out wrong. Ten years ago, grandpa couldnât possibly torrent a film, and itâs debatable if he even knew how to open the file you helpfully sent him. Now, as long as someone has set up kodi or similar, grandpa can watch it on his tv and it just feels like cable.
8) On why torrents in particular have declined in recent years, see here. Itâs a big subject and I didnât cover all of it, but the main reason is that people had access to easier methods to get what they wanted (some legal and affordable, some illegal and free), so they didnât need to learn how to torrent. Ergo, they never did. Thereâs more of course, and thereâs definitely a cultural shift too, but thatâs a very long story so letâs not get into it. The linked post also includes some thoughts on why torrents arenât dead and doomed just yet, and ooh, I forgot a very important one: you canât stream photoshop.
To summarise, internet piracy is NOT more difficult, unreliable, and unsafe today than it was 10 or 20 years ago. For reasons why people (young or otherwise) seem less versed in it, please look elsewhere. I have thoughts on that too, but this is already a very long post, so Iâll just leave you with the best kind of thought. Iâll leave you with a doubt:
ARE people less versed in piracy? Are they really? Or is it simply that 20 years ago, internet users were computer geeks by definition, whereas now everyoneâs online? Perhaps the percentage of skilled pirates in the general population remains more or less the same, and the only thing thatâs dropped is the percentage of skilled pirates to total internet users. I canât be sure without statistical evidence, but itâs a possibility.
You can literally google âwatch _____ free onlineâ and find most movies but the third result just download Adblock or popup blocker and youâre golden it truly couldnât be easier
Iâve been meaning to make a piracy masterpost for awhile and what better time than now?
Materpost: A curated Githup tutorial of links to more torrent sites, software, VPNs, uBlock origin filters, ect. Basically everything you could ever want starting out. Do be warned though it doesnât appear to have been updated in awhile so a few of the links are dead.

Recorded broadway musicals. Verying quality.
Finally someone actually posted links instead of just bitching or saying âitâs easyâ
Ok just want to plug the eye a bit more considering I lost a few hours in their yesterday.
the eye has been up since 2017 and in the last four years have accumulated 140TB of data (according to their own reports). Part of their growth is just their own work, part of it is absorbing other archives/open directories that were having issues: I know rpg.rem.uz used to be its own archive - gave way to The Trove, which is having its own issues right now unfortunately⊠- but now most-all of their content can also just be found on the eye. Same with a few dozen other archives.
And they have âold roms, OS systems, roms (non nintendo), comics, books, ect, ectâ, but massively more than you might think just based off how this sounds. LikeâŠ
They have it all.
If you want to try and homebrew alcohol, go check their stuff. If you want to try and read books that are out of print or otherwise in public domain (and some that arenât yet in public domain), go check their stuff. If you want to run a campaign and canât pay for expensive print tabletop books, go check their stuff. If you want to fuck off into the woods to live off the land (or research how that would work for a writing project), go check their stuff. If youâre trying to learn shit about drugs - any drugs, almost - go check their stuff.
Hell, if you want to go read what looks like literally every research paper on coronaviruses from 1968 up to Feb 2020, you can do that too!
As chickenmcnuggies said its a mess and a half to navigate through their collections, partially with how large it is and the fact quite a few folders were once whole other archives since absorbed by the eyeâŠ
But goddamn you can lose an afternoon just going through all the stuff they have.
The subreddit r/freemediaheckyeah is a great resource and their index: https://fmhy.net/ has A LOT of stuff with a pretty straightforward UI. Its got free resources for pretty much anything you could want on the internet, both fully legal and dubiously legal.
The largest collection of free stuff on the internet!
@isuggestalibraryofthings
i have a suggestion
me too
I just want to point out that most inkjet printers these days come with/require ink subscriptions and you canât fix it by jiggling a gear because they use a chip in the cartridge to tell it when to stop working (and to force you to use branded cartridges) HOWEVER laserjet printers *do not* have this issue and are better about accepting 3rd party cartridges. They also last a long time and the printers are easier to fix and donât end up with the clogged nozzle problem that inkjet printers have. (They are more expensive to purchase and the cartridges are more expensive but you get a *lot* out of them)
If youâre looking for a printer that sucks less, you may want to look for a used/refurbished laserjet and if youâre looking for a printer and it says it comes with a year long ink subscription, no you arenât, fuck that printer, donât buy that printer.
scanned the low poly ballpoint pen kimharry from my sketchbook °â.àłàż*
thank you dear keroppi 10 colors in 1 ballpointpen i love you very much
Because I'm a biologist and a complete freak, I sometimes amuse myself thinking about like a super ultra advanced alien race that 'conquers' our planet, but instead of being all 'War of the Worlds' about it, they aren't even conquering, as far as they're concerned. There are no inteligent life forms on this planet, after all, just little animals, and they're clearly on the endangered species list. A perfect place to study rare wildlife on an untouched planet.
So there's an alien research station in space. Humanity's worst attempts to destroy it amount to a bear turning over the trash can. Aliens occasionally abduct people and return them with a clean bill of health and an ankle bracelet. It takes them forever to figure out those bracelets are screwing with their data because humans who carry them are curve-wreckingly popular.
Disaster strikes somewhere, I dunno, Japan, and there's an uptick in abductions, but of people stuck in collapsed buildings, and yeah the giant octopus tree that looks straight out of Call of Cthulhu is scary but it's also using tech you can't even comprehend to find survivors and teleport them out of the rubble. You see humans with absolutely 100% deadly injuries wisked away and a good number of them even return. There is now a new consent form specifying if rescuers can take you to the aliens, because they will probably try to save you but if they can't your family will never get your body back. You decide if your life or your body is more important.
Little by little, pragmatism wins out. The aliens aren't attacking, but they ARE abducting and doing weird tests. But the survivors mostly return unharmed with a Big Mac in hand and a weird piece of tech. There have been less valid excuses to miss school. The aliens are clearly researching humanity just as much as we are researching them, and until communications are established this status quo isn't the worst.
Ofc, then one of them actually attacks. Knocks the statue of liberty clean off. The military starts to deploy fast, and even wounds the attacker a lot, but before they can shoot the second missle it bounces. And it turns on the shooter. Every military person in the attack dies, suddenly and through means you cannot comprehend. The other aliens whisk the attacking one away. Construction materials appear as if in apology, but that's it.
The attacker was a hooligan who thought destroying wildlife was fun, and ran into something they can't handle. But even if the bear is perfectly within its rights to defend its territory, the ranger will atill have to shoot it to save the stupid brat, and hope the idiot learned their lesson.
But the bear is still dead. And the forest critters who had just started getting used to the ranger are now having second thoughts.
But the abductions continue. There are no hooligans for a while. And what else can you do? This is your home, but if the invaders really want to take it, what can you do?
So you try to stay out of their way, if you are in some serious trouble and your chances are already less than 50/50, maybe you seek them out. Sometimes they help. Sometimes they don't.
And sometimes the abductees catch glimpses of something that looks like it might have been human once, but eyes and skin all wrong, speaking incomprehensibly, and rubbing its head on the alien's 'knees'.
You go home to your dog and try not to think about it.
THE REVIEWS ARE IN!
And now let me bliw your mind: Alien equivalent of Steve Irwin, the one madman brave enough to go bother human wildlife in Australia.
Fun fact: this is what Charles Fort actually literally believed.
Fun fact: this is what
Charles Fort actually
literally believed.
Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
Human relationships are not transactional but they are reciprocal, which I think many of you with your âi donât owe anyone anythingâ shtick are too happy to forget
Transactional: everything has to be exactly 50/50 all the time, pay me back for the ÂŁ5 sandwich or buy me something worth exactly ÂŁ5, I refuse to make an effort for you if thereâs nothing in it for me
Reciprocal: you were there for me when I needed help, and Iâm going to do the same for you, it doesnât matter if one of us needs more or is capable of less, because the point is not equivalent exchange but mutual care

oh my GOD
3 Enero 2026

The funniest thing about LOTR is Aragorn constantly overstepping the Elvesâ personal boundaries. They come from a race where touching your heart is one of the highest signs of affection and heâs over here pulling them into bear hugs and slapping shoulders like a brawny middle-aged dad
LMAO wasnât Aragorn raised by Elves? He knows what heâs doing
True, but the momentary panic in Haldirâs eyes here is hilarious
Okay but what this potentially says about Elrond and the rest of the elves he was raised by is absolutely heartwarming. Because IRL humans need a certain amount of touch and affection and hugs and stuff. Itâs particularly important for things like brain development and while it varies from person to person itâs still more than what elf kids need
And it honestly looks like Aragorn is not only comfortable with this kind of physical affection, heâs used to it.Â
Which makes me think that instead of looking at young Aragorn, and asking him to be more like an elf to fit in with those around them. Elrond looked at this kid and and thought to himself âhow can I be more like what this child needs to thriveâÂ
Aragorn has been raised by Elves since he was only 2 years old. So if weâre going by Piagetâs theories of child development, that puts Aragorn, (who would have been called Estel at the time) in the pre-operational stage. Or somewhere thereabouts. So Elrond is raising this kid when heâs learning to talk. When heâs constantly asking âwhy?â about everything.Â
Young Estel would have grown up surrounded by elves and elf children and just by virtue of not being an elf, he probably would have had to deal with feeling less capable than those around him. He wouldnât have been able to do things like run across snow, and didnât have the ability to see as far as they did with their âelf eyesâ and I am imagining all manner of bruises and skinned knees as he tries to keep up anyway.Â
And it would take some getting used to his new surrounding, but  I canât stop picturing the first time tiny little Estel runs full tilt across the room and hugs Elrondâs leg.Â
And instead of scolding him or asking him to be more like an elf to fit in, Elrond consciously sets aside his own discomfort in the face of what this child needs to thrive. And if what Estel needs is hugs, then hugs he shall have.Â
Elrond picking up itty bitty Aragorn in a great big hug, and being just as uncomfortable about it, but hiding it well because this child was entrusted to his care and he will not let the boy grow up feeling unwanted or unloved.
And so Aragorn grew up surrounded by elves, but he grew up to be someone who naturally and unselfconsciously displays affection.Â
I think that speaks volumes about Elrond.Â
He raised this kid from age 2 to age 20 (so the majority of his formative years and well through his teens) and it was around then that Elrondâs own daughter gets back form visiting her grandmother Galadriel and meets this boy for the first time.
So I have NO IDEA what the various stages of child development would be for an elf, but I doubt their exactly the same.
Sure, Elrond might seem distant now, but there is no way Aragorn became the guy who is constantly overstepping elves personal boundaries to display affection without Elrond choosing to sacrifice his personal boundaries for the sake of a childâs well being.
This is the best possible addition to this post
âŠ.wasnât Elrond mixed anyway? I seem to recall his mother or father being human
Elrond was mixed. At the end of the First Age he was given the choice to be among Elves or among Humans.
He had also sheltered the line of Isuldur ever since the Ring and Isuldur disapeared. He knows what heâs doing.
Today in âElrond is a fucking great dad, fight meâ, this post!
(Elrond was indeed somewhere close-ish to half human. Elwing was Œ human and Earendil was œ human, if I did my calculations correctly, so that would make Elrond 3/8 human or something like that.)
Tbh I think the key indicator of Elrondâs character is the fact that, conventionally speaking, he didnât get to have a happy childhood. When he was very little, his home got raided, his parents turned into a bird and star that he never saw again, and he got âadoptedâ by two cursed mass murderers whoâd started more bloody wars and killed more people in the name of their Oath than any other elven group before and since. Sure, itâs implied that the time he spent with Maglor and Maedhros was happy- âfor a great love grew between them, despite all oddsâ- but he was still growing up with people who were described as âsick in mind and spiritâ and were canonically unstable as fuck, before he grew old enough to move to Gil-Galadâs place and work under him. And then one of his foster parents committed suicide, and the other went MIA for millennia, presumed dead or turned to a wandering spirit, and then his brother ups and chooses mortality on his ass. By all means, heâs got more right and reason to be distant and bitter and unstable than probably any other elf in Rivendell (other than his Noldor kin, but I donât think that needs saying).
And yet despite all that, he raised Aragorn with kindness. He met his needs, and raised him well, even though it had probably been ages since he was personally involved in human childrearing, and he raised him to be very affectionate and loving and stable even into his adult years, when he faced major challenges (and also Arwen)
Idk, but I think that speaks volumes about Elrondâs character, moreso than any other description of him just being âkindâ or âwiseâÂ
