“what’s with this dog motif?”

Q: I have a question that comes up maybe only after you've seen this ten times, when you're, like, panning to all those, like, photos in the apartment, what the hell was the photoshoot with the croquet mallets?

MJ: Ah, that's an amazing question, I can't believe I've never been asked this! So there was a credible photographer way back when Jay and I were just making the web series. His name was Anthony Pileggi, and he was like the first professional person who ever reached out to us and was like, I love you guys, will you come to Humber College and do a photoshoot? We had no idea who this was, we showed up, him and his girlfriend had racks and racks of clothing just on the grass, and all of that stuff, everything we're doing, he's telling us to do it. He's like, "Put the croquet ball in your mouth." And Jay's like, "Okay." We were 21 years old-

JM: Put your hands in each other's pockets.

MJ: Put your hands in each other's pockets! All this crazy shit, now you're leapfrogging over one another. He was like the original--

JM: Take your shirt off.

MJ: -like, crazy fan. No, yo, oh dude, we were running around half naked on the grass at Humber College and this guy is running around snapping photographs of us for five hours.

JR: And us, I remember, we were like, oh my god, so this is like a what a real professional does.

MJ: We didn't realize we'd been sexually assaulted, and he was filming it! But-

JM: There's one of us in that, uh, rollercoaster thing where we're both just like, "Ah!"

MJ: If you see any high resolution photography of us from that age it was all taken by him. And! Oh, you guys all know-

JM: The DVD!

MJ: He took the DVD cover photo! That great photo of Jared, me and Jay that's on the cover, that's him. And he designed it, and he warned me before it went to the printer he said, "It's gonna come out too dark. You should raise the brightness." And I was like, "You don't know what you're talking about." And now look at what we've all gotta deal with. Does anybody have that DVD? It's so dark.

JM: So good question.
