the more that I think about it, the more I realize that humanity is one of if not unicron's greatest creation, even if our very existence was never intended.
A virus that is highly intelligent and highly active, one that devours everything it can, a perfect counter to the organic aspects of quintessons (because let's face it, humans love to eat exotic things, if a real life flesh and blood quintesson existed, there would be people who would not only kill the darn thing, but pay to eat it.) however not only is this virus extremely voracious, but it is terrifying how fast it grows.
One year for a cybertronian is basically a hundred years for a human, in the span of a single year, for a cybertronian, humanities population could multiply from 4 billion to 8 billion, and given another year, that would double again to 16 billion.
Something that grows that fast, that spreads that fast, would be terrifying for a cybertronian.
But this virus doesn't just spread and eat, it's intelligent... it learns, kills and dissects everything it finds to learn of its strengths and weaknesses in order to counteract them.
And the worst part about this virus, it's resourcefulness. A measly hundred of these things could gang up on a cybertronian, kill it, then systematically tear it apart, organize the cybertronians parts and pieces, before then using said parts to build defenses and weapons or even more insulting, household items.
And the worst part even worse than its resourcefulness, is how stubborn it is, volcanoes, tsunamis, hurricanes, category 10 earthquakes and even asteroids could be sent to destroy the virus...
Yet it would always return, always survive... if even one remains, billions will follow...
The universe must be terrified of humans, because of their chaotic and violent nature yes, but also how fast they spread and how hard it is to get rid of them...
Humanity is basically the university's version of The Black plague...
Unicron made them on accident without even noticing...
Okay, I am sat and hearing you out.
Oooh this a good ask, one that took me forever to answer (sorry) but still really good!
Hmmm I love the idea of humans being like a sort of virus to the galaxy and Unicron enabling it. Why slowly destroy all this by himself when he can get help from billions, drastically speeding up the process?
The dynamic of an extremely evil villain but a great father is a fun one which can definitely apply here. So I like to think that Unicron is very soft with his little humans happily praising them for the improvements on their black hole nukes or inventing a new flavor of ice cream.
He's extremely supportive of their interests.
