Everyone wants to have computer but no one wants to learn computer and I think this is maybe bad for us
Like you don't need to build your own PC and exclusively use the command terminal to tell it what to do but it probably is a worthy endeavor to learn how to work with a machine in Some Capacity so you can get the most mileage out of it
The scareder people get of touching their computer's guts, the more pre-built companies will have the audacity to organize said guts in a way that make them a massive pain in the ass to fix, because they want to further encourage their consumers' preference for buying a new machine over attempting to perform maintenance on their existing ones
YES YOU GET ME. I am So Tired of useless simplified UIs and AI assistants on every website, and of every phone being a category 7 pain in the ass to open up just to replace the battery, and error pages that say something silly and cute instead of actually telling me what's wrong, etc etc
When I was like 4 I had this plug-n-play keyboard you'd hook up to an actual PC, and iirc it would load up software with a look inspired by a standard windows 7 desktop, but it was really simplified due to Being For 4 Year Olds, and surprisingly kind of irritating to navigate because everything had a silly name instead of telling you what it actually is. Fascinating to me that My Touy is just what mainstream tech is like now
also it's literally easy to learn. I just had a nice YouTube man walk me thru building a PC. He told me how everything worked and how to connect it. He gave me reccs for which parts to buy. Building a PC is easy and fun!!!
