found a 1988 paris match interview (02/09/1988 ; fun fact: with catherine goux, didier pironi's ex partner!) where prost and senna went through the same q&a (although not together i believe) and it's rather fun to compare their answers. so here are some of them!:
If you could leave right away, where would you go?
Prost: To play golf on an island, in the sun.
Senna: To Brazil, to practice water skiing with my girlfriend.
What is your motto?
P: This one comes from experience: to try and take everything philosophically.
S: To work to reach the goal I have set for myself.
What is happiness?
P: To have as few worries and problems as possible. It's useless to experience dazzling happiness only to fall back into sadness afterwards.
S: To live harmoniously with my family. To take life on the good side.
Who is your hero?
P: The one who possesses supernatural strength: the invisible man.
S: My father.
What do others like most about you?
P: That I'm genuine.
S: You'd have to ask them.
What do others like least about you?
P: You'd have to ask them. To know it wouldn't make me change at all. There's nothing more bloody annoying than perfection.
S: Lots of things. It's so easy not to be liked!
Do you know how to cook? Which meal are you best at?
P: Not really, but I can get by if I need to.
S: I can make a sandwich.
What do you think of joy and sadness?
P: Joy is easy to communicate but sadness is very difficult to share with other people.
S: Joy and sadness, much like love and hate, are feelings that are only antithetical in appearance. They’re the same sensation.
What was your favorite game as a child?
P: Cowboys and Indians, electric trains and the 24 circuit* (already). [*French game with miniature cars]
S: Football, bicycles, swimming, marbles, karting.
How do you sleep?
P: Generally, lying curled up on my left side.
S: In a bed. I fall asleep easily but I have a harder time waking up. I'm not a morning person.
Is a friend made to pass the time with, to fill a space, to laugh with, or to share pains and pleasures with?
P: To share everything. But it's such a rare thing, a friend!
S: You can do everything with a friend. Or at least, you should be able to.
Is a child the product of love, chance or duty?
P: Of love. It's vital.
S: A child should result from a shared desire. There's nothing more beautiful than having a child.
What do you like giving?
P: To those I like, everything without limits.
S: I'm ready to give everything for my family. Materially, it's very easy. But it's everything else that counts.
What do you know how to take?
P: Chemistry with other people, wellbeing, love of life.
S: The positive side of things.
To whom or to what do you confide most easily?
P: Myself.
S: God first of all, then my family, and finally my girlfriend.
What is the most important thing for which you lack time?
P: My son.
S: Peace.
What makes you think about your mother?
P: Every time I'm on a run, I think about her and how much she worries.
S: She is always with me. When I'm happy, I think about her especially.
If one has multiple lives, who were you before this one and who would you like to be afterwards?
P: I believe in reincarnation. I don't remember who I was before but I would like to be myself again but in an entirely new field. I'd like to be an adventurer.
S: Each life is made to better oneself to become perfect. I'm only in the middle of my lives.
Do you like quiet?
P: Not only do I like it, I need it enormously.
S: Enormously when I'm alone. But I can also share it with people I love.
What question would you have wanted me to ask you?
P: Why don't you appear in Paris Match much?
S: What do you want in life?
What would have been your answer?
P: Because I don't enjoy reveal things about myself much. I prefer to remain hidden (like the invisible man!).
S: To be professionnally liked by people I respect and to build a family with the woman I love.
