[It was in Hockenheim in 1988.] I was eating out with Prost and Senna was having dinner at the circuit. He went to seek Alain, found us in the restaurant and told Alain: "You should call the [McLaren] garage, they're changing your chassis." Many drivers would have thought, "That's not my problem", but not Senna. He'd made the effort to go find his teammate to tell him what was happening, and Alain remembered he had in fact damaged his chassis a little on a kerb.
Jean-Louis Moncet, interviewed in French here
extremely funny because i found the same anecdote with only a few details changed in johnny rives’s book about 1988 except this time he says senna had a wide smile and was clearly happy to unsettle prost with the news of a broken chassis

TEDDY MAYER THE BABY SITTER Short, the face of a practical joker, hair shorn : 24-year-old Alain Prost, the current European Formula Three champion sometimes seems more like a lively yet naughty kid has strayed into a smart dinner party by accident. But Prost has fitted into Formula One with remarkable ease. Teddy Mayer has obviously taken to him. In Buenos Aires, Mayer was obviously very enthusiastic, rushing up to him every time he stopped in the pits, doing everything the young Frenchman wanted, and giving him advice in a manner that mixed paternalism with administration. The reason was that Prost has really adapted well to Formula One. He showed it in Argentina as he had during testing at Circuit Paul Ricard. His setting up talents match his pure and simple quality. Mayer seems to know that he’s employed a driver who has a great future ahead of him. Prost was fifth quickest on the Thursday, but slipped back a bit during the rest of the sessions, ending up twelfth on the grid. He started well and was in eighth place behind Rosberg when he spun. On regaining the track, the skirts were jammed up, which caused him to slow by about 6” a lap. His main aim from then on was to finish his first Grand Prix and he succeeded, not only in finishing, but also in scoring his first World Championship point thanks to the retirements in front of him. Initially, he was very happy with the result, but then felt considerable remorse: "I'm a little disappointed", he admitted to us. "If I hadn't spun, I would have finished third or at least fourth". Disappointed to be sixth - he's got cheek too!

There's a happy-ish version of this photo lol?
Patrick Depailler with a photo of himself hang-gliding on the wall; the very same hobby that caused him to be gravely injured after he crashed into some mountains. He nearly lost both of his legs (but fortunately recovered and continued to race).
Ken Tyrrell has a clause in his contract forbidding him to participate in most of his dangerous hobbies outside of racing, including skiing and motorcycling. After the accident, Patrick, with his own form of hilariously odd logic, blamed Tyrrell that he have been able to cope if he'd had more experience - which he would have had if only Tyrrell hadn't stopped him.
