Iβd die on the hill that βstranger dangerβ is a deeply unhelpful mentality to have. βOoooh everyone is out to get me theyβre all gonna perpetrate harm thatβs actually more likely to come from someone I already know. I better never talk to anyone in my community who I donβt already know, just to be safe. Iβm sure there are no other biases interwoven with this mentalityβ like oh my god human traffickers do not just randomly spawn in every parking lot. You donβt have to go solo hitchhiking across the country but you also donβt have to live in fear that every guy on the street is the knife man whoβs gonna get you. Like have situational awareness, yeah. But most of the time the guy on the street is not knife man heβs actually just a guy on the street and heβs probably pretty chill, and youβre driving yourself crazy by living in a constant state of unnecessary fear.
Like always safety comes first, especially if youβre in a marginalized group more likely to be targeted by random people around you. But thatβs different from stranger danger. I might even say that stranger danger is something that contributes to marginalized groups getting targeted by random people. Which strangers do you find distrust worthy? Why? Does vague distrust justify harmful actions in the name of self defense? Stranger danger draws everyone away from more important issues of safety (underlying bigotries, systemic injustices, abuse in the home, etc) and towards an amorphous boogeyman that has no solution, because itβs not the real cause or culprit.
what companies who sell you anti aging stuff don't want you to know is that if you're chill about aging, your perception of attractiveness changes as you get older. there is no "wall" where you suddenly become ugly and unfuckable because in my experience what actually happens is you get into your thirties and suddenly realize that people in their thirties are hot as fuck and the "flaws" that the beauty industry wants you to panic about are a feature not a bug, and based on the std statistics in nursing homes I don't really expect that trajectory to change.
it was international jazz day and all you guys listened to was a single album??
not even close to joking when i say that everyone going "meeeee :3" in the notes needs to ask themselves why they're so much more willing to listen to jazz that isn't made by black artists
If you like Casiopea, check out some classic jazz funk fusion albums like Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock or Return to Forever by Chick Corea.
If you like the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack, check out some later period big band albums like Mingus Ah Um by Charles Mingus and The Roar of '84 by Buddy Rich.
If you like the Persona soundtrack, check out some more modern jazz fusion albums with electronic elements like Black Focus by Yussef Kamaal or Freedom Fables by Nubiyan Twist.

perhaps a hot take but even at its most generous i think "if men could get pregnant abortions would be free" is a pretty shallow observation in that it treats the ability to get pregnant as something superfluous to patriarchy. i do take a very socialist view of patriarchy and reproductive autonomy is very much a labor issue. "if (cis perisex) men could get pregnant" is a "what if the moon was made of pudding" issue to me because if cis perisex men could get pregnant, our entire model of society and the production of new workers and also our entire species would be fundamentally different. its not like random happenstance that the people who can get pregnant are treated like property to be controlled, that is literally The Whole Point. you simply cannot separate misogyny and patriarchy from how people's actual bodies function and how they are treated and used by systems of power.
its not a super deep phrase overall. its an attempt to make visible the degree to which (cis)androcentrism shapes what things are viewed as important or normal and at the end of the day "human" in a general sense. which isn't entirely useless on its own, but in that attempt trans and intersex men are harmfully excluded. we can do so much better i promise! this phrase is cathartic for cis women to say and i feel that is largely why it has stuck around for so long and why people who are supposedly pro-trans get so defensive about people criticizing it, or will agree with criticisms and then keep using it.
