one of my favorite hobbies is not being a parent

I do think ai is over like all of it just screams desperation. they’re trying to put it in everything like it’s a zucchini muffin and the public is a kid who won’t eat vegetables. every single tech startup is like “the new revolutionary ai assistant that privatizes pooping.” The only time chat gpt is ever in the news is when the company needs money or people are dating it. People are always arguing that ai is unethical or not useful but even more than that it’s swagless because no artists or tastemakers or it girls will touch it.

I think we weaken ourselves by running campaigns that say like “cool kids don’t use ai” because it sounds like something your parents say when you get bullied. But cool people genuinely do not use ai. there’s an aura of such raw and intense swaglessness about it. I think that’s just objectively true. All the companies who bought into it are broke and its associated with teenagers who can’t socialize, Disney adults who use it to make them look cartoon, women who are emotionally dependent on it, incels, and nerds. On an objective level you cannot come back from that culturally and it’s alienated any person in a creative field who might possibly be talented or influential enough to fix it.

On top of that multiple gaming consoles and tech devices literally can’t be made right now because ai is taking all of the ram (?) How long will the cultural goodwill last when people can’t get a new switch, a new phone, a new pc, a new PlayStation or Xbox and their only consolation is talking to this robot therapist that repeats the stuff they say more stupidly? and all the companies that switched to cashless and pay with an app now can’t make money because the neighborhood switched to rolling blackouts and all the phones and iPads can’t get wifi or died? like is that really going to be deemed less important than a broke tech company that reeks of desperation and whose founder is quite frankly ugly?

i would rather see the information for an event handwritten in sharpie on a paper towel than see another AI generated flyer

Saving this post to show my boss who I told the AI flier makes us look lazy and ignorant, and offered to hand draw one. She still printed tons of ai fliers and I'm tempted to make a better one just because it annoys me so much.

Fun update: event was canceled because literally nobody rsvp'd to the AI flier.

one of the funnier incidents of me assuming someone knew a meme irl was when a new coworker was talking about some woman who got arrested for tax fraud and I went "God forbid women do anything" and he got scared and thought I was accusing him of being sexist, so he started apologizing and saying how tax fraud isn't even bad, actually.

I was high off my ass last night and had this dream where I was in this dense ass forest and sitting there was a tall woman. She was so tall I couldn’t see her face but she was wearing gold and I was like “uh…hi?” And she said “I made you, do you know that?” And I nodded and she was like “I hear your thoughts. Why do you hate my creation? Why do you try to destroy yourself? I made you perfect as you are. Please don’t break my heart”. Then she started crying and it flooded and I woke up with fucking heart palpitations like what does it Mean™️????
