If you're one of those wonderful people still reading Miles From Nowhere please know I'm still working away on it. Had a brief hospital stay that slightly derailed things but I hope with a couple of days I'll have something for y'all.
Reblog if you’d be okay if your friend came out as transgender
let’s see how many transphobics we can weed out
30+ year old women are the backbone of this website
reblog if you're literally 30+

At last, the mini comic is complete! Thanks again to the wonderful @fishbonetrombone for writing Miles from Nowhere. This comic is based on a scene from the fic. I especially can't get over when Jake is referred to as the "angry boy". It makes me giggle so hard. Definitely go read it if you haven't already. Transcript: Page 1: Steven: Do you want to play a game? Marc: ... Steven: Do you want to read? Marc: ... Steven: Are you sad? Marc: ... Steven: We can just be sad.
Page 2: ["... there's no noise but Steven hears something. Marc does too."] Steven: He's here. [Marc nods] Steven: He's sad. Let's bring him up. Marc: No. Steven: It'll be better to be sad together than be sad alone.
Page 3: Jake: GO AWAY!
Page 4: Steven: Will you come be sad with us? Marc: Please?
Page 5: Steven: Will you stay?
Page 6: Steven: I can tell you how they make mummies later. Marc: It's cool. And gross. ["Later on, they're going to laugh about brains coming out of a nose."] ["Right now, they lie in silence, being sad together."]
This is amazing. It is, I think, the dream of all fanfic writers to get to see people be inspired by their work and create new art. @ubebonnie thank you so much, this is wonderful. The sweet little faces, the expressions. You did such amazing work. I'm a mess when it comes to layout, perspective and just putting characters into a realistic space and you did an amazing job. The way you told this scene is so beautiful, you picked different boys in moments to focus on and I was so pleasantly surprised by how it made the scene unfold.
Amazing work!
Happy Halloween!
Here’s some Khonshu/Bird doodles based off the descriptions from the fic Miles from Nowhere by @fishbonetrombone . I really adore Bird from this fic. He’s such a goober hanging out with the boys. I hope I did him justice.
My son! He’s so beautiful! I cannot say enough good things about these adorable spooky drawings. Love love love!!
reblog if you're an actual person IRL who gets genuinely upset if you catch someone using ChatGPT and view it as a serious moral failing
I do because hear me out:
We KNOW from years of research that the best way to stave off dementia is through puzzles and brain games. Essentially the brain is just like any of your muscle groups: if you don't use it, you will lose it. Time and age will break down your body faster the less you use it.
So what's happening with ChatGPT is that millions of people are outsourcing their *thinking*. I've seen it firsthand, got in an argument with someone and they just copy and pasted a ChatGPT answer WITHOUT EVEN READING IT. At least I assume they hadn't bothered to read it because the AI response *literally proved my point.* And no matter how many times I and others pointed this out to this person, he just kept going back and copy and pasting segments of the AI answer *that he didn't even bother to try to understand himself.*
An entire generation outsourcing their basic thinking to AI is going to lead to apocalyptic levels of dementia when these people hit their twilight years.
We've barely scratched the surface of the brainrot that is to come.
So yeah, I see outsourcing your thinking to AI as a genuine moral failing. The one thing you have that sets you apart from other creatures on this planet is that incredibly complex brain of yours, and you're *throwing it away* like it's a goddamn candy wrapper.
I love my job, but reblogging employment jelly for someone else I love.
You know the economy is going downhill when you reblog a picture of goo like a well meaning auntie in the year 2004 sending you an email forward as unhinged as she is.
Can’t wait to see you at thanksgiving Sandra, may this goo bring me work.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Look buddy, i’m just trying to make it to Friday.
reblog if its friday and you made it

writing fanfiction is the true test of your knowledge. you write one or two sentences and realise you have no idea when lungs were discovered or how rich you had to be have glass windows in the 16th century
If you see this on your dashboard, reblog this, NO MATTER WHAT and all your dreams and wishes will come true.
Oh hey! Haven’t seen this in forever! Didn’t reblog it when it came across me before, not gonna skip it this time, I need some good vibes.

Video of Tama

The picture in the background of the second one
Tama is boss
THE TRAINS HAVE CARTOON TAMAS ON THEM
Sad update everyone, Tama recently passed away… An estimated 3,000 people, including railway officials, attended Tama the cat’s funeral on Sunday, days after she died of heart failure aged 16. [x]
For those who haven’t read articles about it, the local shrine elevated her to a god. She’s now the Eternal Stationmaster and patron god of the station.
Beautiful.
Now I’m crying thanks
and a new cat was hired right?
yep! her name is Nitama (essentially ”second tama” or “tama II”) and she served under Tama as an apprentice before being appointed her deputy
she works very hard
Everytime this crosses my dash, I reblog. It is the law.
I’m crying at 11pm over train cats
Nitama, already now a mature cat (born 2010), has a protege named Yontama (fourth Tama, b. 2016). There is no information available for either the physical befellment or tragic self-disgrace which has removed Santama from contention.
^Nitama majestic, and below with Yontama
Yontama.
a legacy
okay but actually what happened to santama (or sun-tama-tama, which is her name because it’s a pun on santama) was that she was basically sent to train for the position in okayama and they liked her so much they refused to send her back
“Sun-tama-tama” (a pun off of “Santama”, lit. “third Tama”) was a calico cat sent for training in Okayama. Sun-tama-tama was considered as a candidate for Tama’s successor, but the Okayama Public Relations representative who had been caring for Sun-tama-tama refused to give the cat up writing, “I will not let go of this child, she will stay in Okayama.” [25]
As of September 2018, Sun-tama-tama is working as the stationmaster in Naka-ku, Okayama and appears occasionally on Tama’s Twitter account.
Every time I see this post there’s new info and it gets better
You are only allowed to scroll pass this after you pay tribute to the great Tama Station masters.
The shrine of Tama Daimyōjin (Great gracious deity Tama), next to the Kishi station where she worked.
Nitama presenting her yearly offerings to Tama Daimyōjin on the anniversary of Tama’s Death, June 23 (The offerings are presented by the company president, as Nitama is a cat and thus can’t hold the offerings herself) (Not pictured, but also present, Yontama)
you cannot pass without reblogging guys. i’m sorry, i don’t make the rules.
You can’t not reblog a goddess. It’s just what’s so. :)
So, fun fact- the manga Noragami has an arc where the main character, Yato (a minor kami/God that is down on his luck but trying to make it big time) goes to a council/conference for all the Gods in Japan.
And they are announcing the winner of the “up and coming god” award, and of course, Yato thinks it’s him.
But no-
ITS TAMA!
I will not see Manhattan again. But if I can I will damn well take the train to Nitama’s home station, some one of these days, and hope to greet the shrine of the Honorable Eternal Station Master.
Holy shit, I'm not dead.
Hey gang, I posted another chapter of the worlds longest fic (longest one in the fandom according AO3). I know there's a few folks who've been patiently waiting for me to post and guys I might have given up if it weren't for you. Thank you so much and welcome to another episode Marc, Steven and Jake have a bad time or 'Miles from Nowhere'

RATING: RELIABLE
The above is from this article from The Guardian. The images are from MYA Network. The caption on their website reads:
Source: ‘When a sperm and egg get together, the body creates tissue in order to support the developing pregnancy. Here are photos of that tissue from 5-9 week pregnancies. This is called the gestational sac, and it’s like the “house” for the pregnancy. Inside this sac there are cells that have the potential to become a fetus but there is no visible embryo at this stage. We rinsed off the blood and menstrual lining (decidua) for these photographs.’
The published images sparked a lot of debate, leading to the story being picked up by other news outlets. For example:
Source: ‘Last week, the Guardian published images of pregnancy tissue after abortions in the first 10 weeks of pregnancy. The small size and appearance of the tissue were shocking to many. We have all absorbed, knowingly and unknowingly, the pervasive anti-abortion narrative that a pregnancy resembles a tiny baby starting in the earliest weeks. Though an early embryo can be seen under the magnification of ultrasound, it can take months for it to be perceptible to the naked eye.’
Source: ‘People have responded in disbelief, citing the (magnified) images they’ve seen on ultrasounds. […] ”Think of the illustrations on pregnancy and medical websites. The Mayo Clinic, one of the preeminent medical organizations in the country, shows week-by-week illustrations of embryonic and fetal development without any context of scale, like the rulers in the MYA photos.’
As stated in the article, whilst people talk about a ‘heartbeat’ at 6 weeks, there is no heart developed at this stage - only a group of cells that will become part of the heart.
Source: ‘But what exactly do we mean when we talk about a “fetal heartbeat” at six weeks of pregnancy? Although some people might picture a heart-shaped organ beating inside a fetus, this is not the case. Rather, at six weeks of pregnancy, an ultrasound can detect “a little flutter in the area that will become the future heart of the baby,” said Dr. Saima Aftab, medical director of the Fetal Care Center at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami. This flutter happens because the group of cells that will become the future “pacemaker” of the heart gain the capacity to fire electrical signals, she said.’
It should also be noted that the images show an embryo, not a fetus, until the 9th week.
Source: ‘In human pregnancies, a baby-to-be isn’t considered a fetus until the 9th week after conception, or week 11 after your last menstrual period (LMP).’
The co-founders of the MYA Network responded in a New York Times article.
Source: ‘Many people, even those who support abortion rights, did not believe the photos were accurate. Some insisted we had deliberately removed the embryos before taking the photos. The images weren’t consistent with those often seen in embryological textbooks, magnified on ultrasounds or used in anti-abortion propaganda; these enlarged images are not what you see with the naked eye after an abortion. A Stanford gynecologic pathologist has validated our photos, but many people could not believe the pictures were presented unaltered.
You guys ever been so close to finished a chapter on your super long WIP but just weirdly stuck on the very end? The last scene just fighting you with all its might.
No? Just me?
