Have you got any Ashveil guideverse AU thoughts? I absolutely love your guideverse posts and I feel he'd be an interesting character to explore in that setting.

Ashveil is old guard at the guiding corp. Everyone knows him, and they know he'll get the job done no matter what's asked of him. Dependable, steadfast, strong but not cocky. Newer hands think of him as somewhat of a goofball, harmless — as much as a sentinel can be harmless. He's amiable with the guides, if not a little closed off. All the more reason they like him more than their average pushy clients.

What the higher ups aren't telling them is that Ashveil is allowed free rein over himself not because he's so docile, but because letting him do what he wants is the only way to keep him docile. What he truly wants is a quiet, peaceful life. He'll let himself be collared, if that's what it takes. But no one at the top can ever forget that they're not the ones actually holding the leash.
