Spellcasters hate this fact but if you just stick your fingers in their mouth while they're casting a spell with a verbal component it's literally more effective than a counter spell.
This also works with pinning their hands against the wall when they're trying to use somnatic components.
Basically if you make out sloppy style while pressed against a wall the spellcasters can't do anything

the concept and idea of âyou can always start trying to be a better personâ is extremely important to me both in media and irl and i continue to be deeply deeply disturbed by the trend on this site pushing that these ideas in media are bad writing or even morally reprehensible
because theyd rather someone stay terrible or just straight up die than become a better personÂ
from a compassionate point of view itâs deeply distressing and from a pragmatic point of view itâs outright frustrating
itâs fucked up.Â
What is the most important step a man can take?
The next.
I think part of the pushback about this is the idea that, to âredeemâ bad people, their victims must first forgive them for unforgivable acts.
This is false. No one is obligated to forgive you. You can learn from your mistakes and become the best, kindest person on earth, and the people youâve hurt still wonât forgive you, and youâll have to accept that. And that doesnât mean you arenât allowed to grow. Because we arenât just âpureâ or âsinfulâ, weâre complex.
When I was in the hospital, they gave me a big bracelet that said ALLERGY, but like. I'm allergic to bees. Were they going to prescribe me bees in there.
So there's a medication called hyaluronidase. It's used to make other medications absorb better, because it makes the cell wall more permeable.
One common usage is to make local anesthetic more effective during surgery, for instance. It's used in a number of injected medications.
Bee stings contain an enzyme very similar to this medication, so sometimes, people with bee allergies have an allergic reaction to hyaluronidase.
This is called cross-reactivity, where your body mistakes something for the thing it's actually allergic to, and has an allergic reaction anyway. For instance, sometimes people with latex allergies also are allergic to bananas and other fruits. They don't actually contain latex, but there are some similar proteins.
Apparently, hyraluronidase used in humans is derived from one of four sources: sheep testicles, cow testicles, cow testicles again, and GMO hamster ovaries.
tl;dr: They won't inject you with bees, but they might inject you with purified cow testicle juice, and your body might say 'eh, cow balls are BASICALLY bees' and try to kill you anyway.
The world is full of such beauty and wonder. Thank you for that sentence.
Hat tip @mugwomps thank you!

the fact that i'm no longer the same age as the protagonists of novels and films i once connected to is so heartbreaking. there was a time when I looked forward to turning their age. i did. and i also outgrew them. i continue to age, but they don't; never will. the immortality of fiction is beautiful, but cruel.
Itâs the aspirational, to peer, to mentor transition. Characters that I once would have seen as cool badasses I realize now are just traumatized children. Itâs a whole different perspective looking back on these characters as an adult, but now I wish I was in their world not to fight alongside them, but to give them a hug and a safe place to be vulnerable.
I will be like "I'm fine" and then another fucking event will occur
are evil dragons really evil, or are they just vitamin D deficient?

Image description: a tweet by Kim Belair @BagelofDeath. Tweet reads: Aunt Dai is my favourite Chinese restaurant in Montreal, but the REAL treat is the menu, featuring extremely honest commentary from the owner. The tweet has a series of screencaps from the menu attached. In order, they read: 1) Ownerâs words: little little bit spicy, more flavor of cumin, very tasty. We used to have the beef pieces on small sticks but several customers cut their lips by it thinking it was some hard ingredient (They must have watches some shows about weird Chinese food). To avoid incidents like this, no more sticks. Some good infusion from the overly fried onion slices (which you can eat). definitely recommend this. 2) Orange beef (ChĂ©n PĂ NiĂș RĂČu) $11,99 Ownerâs words: Comparing to our General Tao Chicken, this one is not THAT good. Anyway, I am not big fan of North American Chinese food and itâs your call. 3) Ingredients: pork, wood ear, bamboo shoots, green peppers, red peppers Ownerâs words: This is the number one choice dish ordered by Chinese customers across whole China according to an Internet survey and I totally believe that. When I was China and went to a restaurant, I always ordered this dish. Itâs so popular that it has so many different versions in China. Since I have so high expectation on this dish, I am not a huge fan for our version to be honest. But donât get me wrong, the plate at our restaurant is very tasty too, itâs just different from those where I went to university. 4) Satay sauce beef (shÄ chĂĄ niĂș rĂČu) $13,99 Ownerâs words: This is new on our menu, I did NOT have chance to try this one yet. According to a lot of customers, this one is very popular, I still donât have chance to taste it. Looks like I should spend more time eating in my own restaurant. 5) Ingredients: potatoes, chili, vinegar Ownerâs words: This plate will show you how Chinese cuisine can do with our beloved potato outside of French fries, mash potato, chips. This potato Julian dish is very very popular in China. Letâs salute potato! 6) Ownerâs comments: It has curry flavor, donât expect it to be SO tasty but itâs a safe choice and make you happy.
Happy Halloween

the fact that laughter is contagious is so beautiful to me. like oh that made you smile? that made you happy? well then, i have no choice but to be happy with you!
Every 21st century piece of writing advice: Make us CARE about the character from page 1! Make us empathize with them! Make them interesting and different but still relatable and likable!
Every piece of classic literature: Hi. It's me. The bland everyman whose only purpose is to tell you this story. I have no actual personality. Here's the story of the time I encountered the worst people I ever met in my life. But first, ten pages of description about the place in which I met them.
Modern writing advice: Yes your protagonist should have flaws but ultimately we should root for them and like them from the beginning :)
Charles Dickens: Here is the worst ugliest rudest meanest nastiest bitch youâve ever met in your life.
Modern writing advice: Make sure your POV character goes through a significant arc! Make sure they are changed by the narrative! Make sure they learn a lesson!
Narrators of every book of the 19th century: the lesson I learned is these people fucking suck, sayonara you freaks
Modern writing advice: Itâs all about the character overcoming obstacles and learning! They learn their lesson so they can fix their mistakes and make good choices in the future! Itâs a character arc! Itâs called growth! Readers love it!
