Happy Moon Landing Day! â¤ď¸đŠâđđ
Buzz Aldrin punching a moon landing denier in the face at the age of 72. Lol.
This video has been almost completely scrubbed off the internet because the loser who got decked keeps suing everyone. Luckily for you guys EYE have a copy of the video! :)
In honor of the Artemis 2 launch!!! Suck it crazies in the chat yelling about how NASA is using AI!!!
"you're a coward and a liar" it wasn't that long ago a man could be shot or stabbed with a sword for saying that to another man and nobody would think the man defending his honor had done anything wrong.
Also, Mr. Aldrin had an active military career before his astronaut days and i'd say he hasn't forgotten how to throw a damn good punch -- just look at his wide stance
10/10 well-deserved punch
additional info
at the time, Aldrin was 72 years old, 6 foot 2 inches, and 250 pounds. Sibel (the man he punched) was 37 years old
Sibel has made multiple "documentaries" about the moon landing being fake and has repeatedly harassed the astronauts involved, in this instance getting Aldrin to agree to the above meeting by pretending to be doing an interview on space for a Japanese children's television show
Buzz Aldrin's step-daughter was present, and in addition to being poked repeatedly and aggressively with a bible (Sibrel wanted him to swear on a bible that he went to the moon) Aldrin felt the man following them into the hotel refusing to leave them alone might pose a threat to her
charges against Aldrin were either dropped or never filed, based on Aldrin's lack of a prior criminal record, witness accounts of Sibrel's having drawn Aldrin to the hotel under false pretenses, Sibrel's aggressiveness before the punch, and Sibrel having declined to seek medical attention and sustaining no obvious injury visible to witnesses during the incident

I still think about this moment all the time.
I feel like this is an almost universal experience for people of our generation. We always knew more or less that the super-rich were corrupt assholes ruthlessly exploiting the rest of us for their own gains. But still, on some level, we held out to the belief that when things were really dire, when we really had to work together or risk catastrophe, even those rich assholes would begrudgingly do their part. We knew the game was rigged, but we though there were some rules keeping the powerful in check. And then we had that moment of finding out that no, there really were no rules if you had enough money, that you could really just fuck over all of society and get off scot free. For some of us that moment was the 2008 financial crisis. For others it was later, but I feel like we all had that sinking realization at one point, that feeling of sheer powerlessness in the face of the most brazen injustice.
And for John that moment must have hit so much worse, as he was screwed over personally as well as politically. That was his project, he was supposed to save humanity - except they wouldn't even let him. They took away his life's work and the future of humanity in one fell swoop. Imagine the entire world crashing down on you like that. Would you ever be able to recover? I don't think I would.
After that moment, I don't think there's anything John could have done that could have made me lose all sympathy for him. He did so much wrong but man they really had to break him to get him to that point.
At the end of the day, love him or hate him, he is the voice of a generation - our generation.
AND AGAIN!!!
Even after all he's been through, even after he saw the trillionaires steal his life's work laughing all the way to the bank, he STILL clings to the idea of some ultimate justice. He's still assuming they're playing by the same rules as everyone else. He still can't accept that the whole system he's been carefully working his way through to make a difference in the world was always designed to serve these people.
It's so hard letting that belief go when you've invested so much into it. And when that belief finally, truly snaps, it might take a lot of your conscience along with it. And suddenly, you watch yourself start playing around with nuclear blackmail...
And again...
Really, John's rage makes so much more sense when you remember he's the guy who believed in the System to the bitter end, who gave it every chance to restore his faith in it. More cynical people like P- or M- would never have felt that level of betrayal, which is why they were able to keep their cool. But John? John had been slapped in the face one too many times.
Like I was saying in a post the other day, if John had been more of an asshole from the start, if he hadn't been trying so hard to do things in a fair and moral and just way whenever he thought they could afford toâwhen it wasn't an immediate matter of life-and-death, and even after multiple instances where it had beenâif he'd been willing to throw zombies and skeletons at the problem and solve his problems with violence and murder sooner, we never would have made it to Barbenheimer.
But he didn't want violence and murder. He did want actual justice. He didn't even want the trillionaires to die until they were actively on their way out the door leaving everyone to die, and even then... With the parallels between John's story and Nona's, the way they had very much dragged him out from behind the table to shoot him and then he just doesn't mention them again and the narration sort of jumps, it is entirely possible not only that they shot him and he got back up, but that he got back up Having A Tantrum, Nona-style. Some really interesting points in that moment, too...
First, I became a demigod. I nearly fell out of my body. I put my hand around half the worldâs throats. Some of them I managed to snap before they were melted away by nuclear fire. I did them clean. Everyone died, but I helped a hell of a lot of them go before they knew anything had happened. I drank them in, and it wasnât enough. I needed those ships. I needed to extend my hand. I got it around the throat of the other half. I made them go away too. Then I had control of everything on the surface, but not the ships ⌠birds flying above the fire ⌠kids playing keep-away.
There's a fascinating juxtaposition in how John was the one who launched the nukes, but then he rushed to give half the world cleaner painless deaths before they knew to be afraid; it sort of aligns with his moment of hesitation when he catches the last ship, too, that one instant where he could feel them but then it was too late. (Something something parallels with John and Coronabeth where she doesn't know whether to be relieved or distraught that Ianthe isn't dead something something duality.)
"I made them go away" is such a pathetic attempt to frame it as any less horrific, and at the same time it speaks to a mentality of make it stop, the overwhelmed mentality that reaches to violence not for the sake of violence but for escape. "Kids playing keep-away" and just how often John and all his friends are so frequently compared to children. His blocky child's letters in the sand, his idea of Perfect being 7 years old again playing with his mum's old Barbie. Mercy and Augustine in the candlelight looking simultaneously appallingly old and no older than Ianthe, holding each other after the murder like children waking from a nightmare. The way Cytherea looked like she could have been seventeen or thirty-seven. Pyrrha's "Itâs better to die. Thereâs a power to dying clean ⌠dying free. Itâs not love, what youâre about to do. Itâs not beautiful and itâs not powerful. Itâs a mistake. We didnât even do it right ⌠we were childrenâplaying with the reflections of stars in a pool of water ⌠thinking it was space." And of course, how Alecto sees everyone, too, even Crux, the poor baby of a mere hundred years...
Usually when people call him a man-child it's an insult but like. No, honestly. This is the autistic kid who latched on really hard to The Rules and always had a tendency to frame everything through the lens of Stories, who pushed himself through academic hell so fast and so hard to make a difference and had that work out overall despite so much working against him (and as an adult object personified so hard he thought of corpses as friends before magic ever existed but you know). He was told if you work hard enough and play fair, you can climb your way to the top, or at least high enough that people above you might listen, and then that just stopped working. And he kept going, what? No, that's not FAIR? That's not how it WORKS?
And right up until those last few minutes, that really was all he'd wanted. For them to stop, for them to play by the rules, for them to sit back down and take accountability and help fix their own mess, as was only fair. But it was never fair, and they were never playing by the same rules.
Honestly, at this point, considering how little he's done to Blood of Eden as they are and Prince Ianthe's order to cease activity and have others not accept anything from them but no demand to? kill them or even turn them in? I'm left to wonder if he even still wants to kill the trillionaires when he finds the rest (lost in time) or if he just wants to gather them and take them back and force them to fix shit jaowejaoaw. Like it wouldn't surprise me if he's like "no those fuckers had too many chances already", but it does feel like hunting them all down to take in alive would be significantly harder than launching some kind of attack he could be reasonably confident would kill them even without knowing exactly when or where they are. But yeah...
And then we turn around and these days he doesn't play by the same rules as everyone else, either, at least in any way that matters... but he takes his fair turns cooking like everyone else. He still trips over himself to apologize sometimes. Gradually compromises and accommodates, like giving Harrow first water instead of tea, and then crackers instead of biscuits. Still dives in to both physically and spiritually grab Harrow and pull her through the last stretch of the River during the trip to the Mithraem at genuine serious risk to himself. None of it is worth enough to matter next to all the horrors he's perpetuating and all the ways he puts himself above everyone else, but man it's almost worse that there's still that part of him that cares about trying.
GOD... Sorry to reblog this again but looking for something else and just saw again, in John 8:1, after the cow wall incident...
I didnât care what they thought, I wanted the attention. I wanted to break my NDAs. I wanted to let them know about the cryo plans and how we got shut down.
This motherfucker was Playing By The Rules so hard he still hadn't broken his NDAs yet. Sir... Sir you are living in your old workplace with the power shut off and you just turned 80 cows and a bunch of sheep into a wall because you didn't trust them not to kill you. Why are you still... sir... please...

actually have nothing funny or snarky to say about episode 5. this is just actually the most moving and heartwrenching television i've ever witnessed and it changed my life. it changed so many people's lives. sometimes i'm like the hr hype is lowkey a little too insane and then i watch this episode and i feel like the world writ large actually underreacted to how legendary this episode was. i too would actually soul bond with francois, hudson, and connor if i witnessed this live in the dead of winter.
like i'm sorry rr/tierney ate with this....... like the idea that someone else coming out being the impetous for you yourself taking a big leap of faith too is so like. what being gay and in a community is about. like you just literally don't know you aren't the only one if someone doesn't come out and do something so ridiculously brave. sorry i'm being so earnest about this because i'm writing this mid tears. like that thing jacob said about how scott's coming out needs to be outlandish and loud to contrast the like quiet and tender coming together of shane and ilya. the problem with this show is that it's literally that good.
Happy Jeremy Bearimy Day!

Today is the every day you can never reblog this.
âThe police spend very little of their time dealing with violent criminalsâindeed, police sociologists report that only about 10% of the average police officerâs time is devoted to criminal matters of any kind. Most of the remaining 90% is spent dealing with infractions of various administrative codes and regulations: all those rules about how and where one can eat, drink, smoke, sell, sit, walk, and drive. If two people punch each other, or even draw a knife on each other, police are unlikely to get involved. Drive down the street in a car without license plates, on the other hand, and the authorities will show up instantly, threatening all sorts of dire consequences if you donât do exactly what they tell you. The police, then, are essentially just bureaucrats with weapons. Their main role in society is to bring the threat of physical forceâeven, deathâinto situations where it would never have been otherwise invoked, such as the enforcement of civic ordinances about the sale of untaxed cigarettes.â
â An excerpt from Ferguson & the Criminalization of American Life by David Graeber (via actjustly)
since i think many will have had the memory slip with just how many other atrocities have occured in the past 11 years, or are simply too young to remember, the last bit about the sale of untaxed cigarettes isnât just some hypothetical, itâs a reference to the killing of eric garner
this is the origin of the slogan âi cant breatheâ, which was revived in the wake of the killing of george floyd.
On this day, 17 July 2014, Eric Garner was murdered by police enforcing a civic ordinance.

RIP Sisyphus he would've loved emails.
ilya telling shane about irina and how they were best friends and he hung out with her all the time and he was her protector and he would skip school on her bad days to brush her hair and make sure she ate something even if it was just tea and she was an angel and you know shane is calculating how best to gently bring up to his husband that that doesnât sound like it was very fair to child ilya without ilya reacting like a wild fucking animal
ilya comes back from therapy with galina like three months after this fight (of course it was a fight) and with the same candor as ashley padilla in then mom confession sketch goes iâm only going to say this once and iâm only going to say it if after i do you promise you will not react no talking no faces no nothing and shaneâs on the couch reading like uh. whatâs going on? and ilya goes what i have to tell you. Is that I think I was treated unfairly. By my mom. and of course shane makes a face and ilya is reacting like a wild fucking animal
#but that was his mama and he loved her so much and she was gone way too soon and he has put her up on a pedestal :(#because what else was 12 year old ilya supposed to do and she wasn't strict like his father so for him that meant she automatically couldn'#do anything wrong because at least she was better than his father and on her good days she hugged him and told him she loved him#and ilya has a hard time computing that two things can be true at once yes she loved him yes she also treated him unfairly sometimes#<- not only does he put her on a pedestal but he also romanticizes his own role in this situation#''wasn't i a good son? wasn't i so mature and empathetic and sensitive and nice?''#because of course this is what his mother would tell him (which reinforced those ideas)#and also suddenly being nice and soft and sensitive wasn't a bad thing like his father would say#it would make him feel vindicated#which again just reinforced the feeling#ilyalogĂa#heated rivalry
