Hot take, Adora AND Bow are both horse kids.
He shaped his bow after horses and he rode a stranger's horse with no issues and then told to the horse it was an honor fighting with it

As you said, immediately comfortable riding a random horse, his bow is designed with horse heads, talks to Horsey as an equal even before he's anthropomorphic
There's a mustached horse doll in his little play nook (which I personally like to think is the original "Horsey")
He generally seems to love all animals, especially cute animals (and what is cuter than horses? That's correct, nothing.)
Gets along great with Swift Wind, far better than most of the alliance
And, most of all, he had his own horse, Arrow, in the original show
As a certified horse girl, I have been desperately trying to gratuitously work this into several fics now without success. Every time I watch Brave I need to be physically restrained from giving Bow a horse in the Robin Hood AU because it would complicate the plot but then my brain is like, "But the vibes??? Of galloping through the woods doing awesome archery??? Doesn't Bow deserve that???"
Anyway, I have been toying for weeks with writing a modern AU with the whole gang centered around a riding school and you may have single handedly reactivated my passion for that so thank you for that.
