You do not understand

Most modern Ag operations don’t even have a proper A-Horizon. They’re too busy turning the earth every time they replant. The A-horizon is the Black Gold that makes Soil Soil. It’s a structurally complex soil horizon that must be built in place by the interactions of Plants and Fungi and Insects. It is The Thing that soaks up rain and holds onto it for plants. The A-Horizon is The Thing that builds up when you let a field sit fallow. The act of tilling creates fecundity by breaking up the A-horizon. On a really good Organic no-till farm you might find an A-horizon between 3-6 inches.

This stuff is black gold. This is the stuff that determines whether or not a plot of land is going to be “productive.” The knowledge of how to make it, how to care for it, is an essential piece of wisdom that our civilization needs to remember.

I am begging the UK trans community and its allies to attend the Mass Lobby at Parliament on June 25th, 11am-4pm, organised by Trans Solidarity Alliance.

The new EHRC Code of Practice pushes trans people out of toilets, hospital wards, and community spaces. It normalises gender policing based on appearance and stereotypes. It becomes statutory guidance in the UK by the end of June.

Trans people are now legally their assigned gender at birth and must join gendered spaces accordingly, but if they are perceived as their lived gender, they can also be ejected from those spaces. The guidance says: either break the law, or don’t pass too well.

A mass lobby is where you invite your MP to discuss your concerns with you in-person. Ask your MP to:

Demand full parliamentary scrutiny, debate, and use their free vote on the EHRC Code of Practice.

Support any motions rejecting the EHRC guidance. As of June 4th, Labour MP Nadia Whittome has submitted a prayer motion - Early Day Motion 240.

Write to Bridget Phillipson, the Minister for Women and Equalities about our concerns

Your MP does not have to be an ally, they do not have to respond to your email for you to show up and greencard them (details below the cut.) What matters is that as many people as possible show up.

I cannot stress this enough: Showing up in person matters. It is much more effective than petitions, emails, and letters.

It is a horrible, stressful time, and I am so sorry if you're trans and live in the UK. But I was at last year's mass lobby and the line for greencarding alone stretched around the back gates. It was a record breaking mass lobby and made us impossible to ignore. Let's do even better this time. Details under the cut:

But I do encourage everyone who is disappointed or upset to volunteer, donate, or spread the word for grass roots organizations in Detroit. The Ruth Ellis center is a great place to start. Dear PWHL Detroit Management,

I write to you as a devote women’s hockey fan who has gone to every single expansion game and put down a deposit for season tickets, to express how deeply disappointed I am that Britta Curl Salemme has been added to the Detroit PWHL roster.

Britta Curl has engaged with online intolerance against the black community and the trans community. Last season she partnered with a faith based organization that aims to keep trans women out of sports. This is unacceptable to the community. It is unacceptable in Detroit which has a long history of with the black lgbt community.

It breaks the heart of myself and other fans who hoped PWHL Detroit would love and protect the LGBTQ+ community. However, this decision has made it clear that PWHL Detroit does not have an interest in supporting the LGBTQ+ community. The deliberate choice to sign Britta Curl when every stadium in the league boos her and makes it clear why, shows that this organization will not protect LGBTQ+ fans.

I will be unfollowing PWHL Detroit on all social medias, I will not buy merchandise, and I will not buy season tickets, while Curl and any other player openly associated with transphobia is on the team.

This is 100% the gay supervillain music video I’ve been waiting for.
