Theyre called draculas because they drank u. La
Did anyone else hear just one single angelic note
maybe love transcends severance
Mark's Workwife for real
hey if you died right now whats your ghost outfit you cant change it be honest
If I ever get fired from a job I hope all my coworkers get together to eat a watermelon sculpture of my head
Derin what is this referencing
What the fuck
This company likes melon bars
I have been fired many times and I’m absolutely certain the sculpture would be more traumatic than the getting fired part
What if you were someone who only existed at work so getting fired (or retiring) was essentially the same thing as death. Would the fruit sculpture that your friends at to come to terms with your loss and their own incredibly fragile grasp on their existences still be more traumatic then.
Derin, why do you have the uncanny ability to poke sore spots like that?
Did you fall into the kettle of Apollo’s dodgeballs as a child?
You cannot possibly blame me for the tv show Severance. That's Dan Erickson and Ben Stiller's fault.
It does however seem like the kind of story you would write if someone else hadn't written it first
I read the concept in a short story many many years ago and it did have an influence on the stuff I wrote since
Hey, quick question: what's severence about?
Have you ever been at work and thought "man, this fucking sucks -- I wish there was some way for me to just switch my brain off when I came into work and just do the fucking job and then wake up on the way home and just be living my best life?"
That's what Severance is about.
For people who work jobs related to handling incredibly sensitive information, there's technology that acts as a memory block -- when they're at home, they can't remember anything that happened inside their work building. At work, they don't remember their home lives. This means that they can live lives unburdened by the experience of slow, annoying jobs. But it also means that there's another 'them' who, against their will and with no control over their situation, is trapped forever at work. And since they can't carry memories out and all information in and out is controlled by the company, who can say if the job your body's being put to work at is actually the job you're told you do? If the company decides to fire you, who can say if the reason they give is real? As for the instance of you trapped at work, how can they trust that their outer version would even care if they do know? After all, that's a person who condemned them to a life of eternal drudge work in the first place; why would someone willing to do something like that care if the conditions are bad? And even if they did quit and never subject you to that again, well, to you, that's death.
Also there's baby goats and gay Christopher Walken.
Don't forget gay John Turturro!

Finally, an adolescent that looks like how adolescence feels.
same guy
"you're really scraping the bottom of the barrel" girl i am living that balsamic life, that's the mommy down there at the bottom.
#are you havinf a stroke or am i i can NOT understand this
Balsamic vinegar is made by aging a reduced grape syrup in barrels with "mother", which is a kind of bacterial slime that develops naturally in the vinegar over time. True balsamic vinegar goes through a very particular process of aging it in a series of smaller and smaller barrels, transferring it from one barrel to the next either every year, or every few years, depending on the process, and then adding fresh syrup to the largest barrel and continuing the process. The slimy film that forms on the insides of the barrels is the mother, and due to the increased concentrations over the years, the mother in the smallest barrel is most potent, and is sometimes partially removed and used to seed new batches of vinegar, so production can be expanded. Scraping the mother from the bottom of the barrel is how you multiply the goodness, the sweetness, and the quality of your balsamic.
If you've ever bought a bottle of apple cider vinegar and thought "what's that cloudy stuff at the bottom?", that's the mommy <3
This is also a part of what makes a high quality balsamic, well, high quality. And part of what makes it expensive. Good quality balsamic is all about age, both the age of the batch itself, and the age of the mother that seeds it. Balsamic has to be at least 12 years old, but you can age it much longer, and many places do. As for the mother, that requires literal lifetimes. Some of the oldest balsamic producing families in Modena have mothers that have been kept alive for centuries, passed down through the generations to seed new batches year after year after year, hundreds of years over. The bacterial cultures develop unique and incredible flavors in this time, and you can really taste it in the end product. It's the kind of flavor and quality only age can offer.
we have entered laika's autism zone. u will learn food and cooking facts, whether you want to or not.
Anyone who has worked a real job knows the look of someone standing there looking at something that's gonna fuck up their afternoon
i could recognize this expression, this stance, the strain in the voice over the phone from a hundred yards away
and if you think that's not a fair example because firefighters are used to showing up to stuff that fucks up a whole afternoon, consider the full picture
