🦋📈💚 The monarch butterfly population has increased by 64% after years of decline!
Two new reports by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Mexico revealed that the species’ jump in population came alongside a significant decrease in forest degradation within their winter hibernation habitat. This year, the butterflies occupied 7.24 acres of forest, up from 4.42 acres last winter — thanks to conservation efforts across the Americas to restore critical habitats and combat pesticides to ensure safe migrations for the species, the reports offer hope for monarch butterfly recovery!
