I was discussing representation of gender in fiction and I was thinking about how the ‘dead wife’ and ‘dead mom’ tropes are way too common in fiction and there was a big imbalance in killing prominently female characters.
But instead of articulating that point I just said “More husbands need to die.”
2024 gonna be my year fr
2025 gonna be my year fr
2026 gonna be my year fr
i would die alone and have my carcass be eaten by vultures before i talk to chatgpt like it's my boyfriend
“Years ago a friend of mine had a dream about a strange invention; a staircase you could descend deep underground, in which you heard recordings of all the things anyone had ever said about you, both good and bad. The catch was, you had to pass through all the worst things people had said before you could get to the highest compliments at the very bottom. There is no way I would ever make it more than two and a half steps down such a staircase, but I understand its terrible logic: if we want the rewards of being loved we have to submit to the mortifying ordeal of being known.”
— I Know What You Think of Me, Tim Kreider for the New York Times
after YEARS of seeing this quote online and finding it to be the most deeply and resoundingly profound writing i finally found the source article and absolutely nothing could prepare me for this opening paragraph
Okay but the whole article is really interesting and also contains this quote which I’ve never heard before but really like:
“Anyone worth knowing is inevitably also going to be exasperating”

Oh good, now I have a cheat sheet for Uncensored Nate
I’ve narrowed it down to these three top reasons OP should be allowed to commit arson
Walking around with this sheet in hand and pointedly taking it out and methodically searching through it every time I want to say something
This is killing me.
Excuse me, sir, has to be my favorite of the list
Mechanical Slut
That guy’s got a real magnetic personality.
he gets around
i cant fucking take it anymore. (standing perfectly still, is not visibly stressed, appears normal)
all goofing aside I genuinely don't understand the urge to reimagine Taylor Allison Swift as a secretly queer icon when the pop music scene(TM) is like. literally overflowing with women who actually like women. Gaga and Kesha and Miley and Halsey are right there. Rina Sawayama and Hayley Kiyoko and Rebecca Black and Kehlani and Victoria Monét and Miya Folick if you're willing to get slightly less top 100. Janelle and Demi for them nonbinary takes on liking girls. like what are we doing here. like I'm not even saying you can't enjoy Taylor but why would you hang all your little gay hopes on her.
Isn’t Lady Gaga bisexual?
yes that is indeed why she's on the list of famous women who like women
why have multiple people reblogged this with some horse-assed "um actually most of these people are bi or pan" did I fucking stutter I said they like girls. what is your point. I'm going to kill you.
#op probably has this post muted but the icon is too real.
the icon is because of this post
POV: you make a good post and then encounter tumblr reading comprehension
btw to just clarify for anyone who sees this reblog of this post
op is basically saying something along the lines of "yea ik taylor swift is bi but like. why is she y'all's only lgbtq+ pop icon when there are all these other lgbtq+ people in the pop scene???"
i might have worded this badly but hopefully i got the main point across
hi op here I certainly did not fucking say Taylor Swift is bi
Op is saying that liking Taylor for being QUEER or Lgbtqia+ is not a bad thing, but to also know she is not the only one.
He did not call anyone in the original post lesbian bi or pan.
He did call two people NB
you have to be fucking with me there's no way
#Op you gonna have to make a graph
on it:
#I think it’s so funny I got that damn Taylor swift ad underneath this#anyways this is reminding me of that makeup post from way back when#where someone was saying no makeup is a valid way to wear your face and everyone kept insisting that you only need like….4 products
yeah that was also my post
Please actually read the post because Taylor Swift isn't gay or queer you're just protecting because you want a reason to treat a real person like she's not humanly here.
If you want women or non-binary people to talk about their love of women there's actual bi/pan/lesbian artists who talk about their love of women and sing songs about it. You literally don't have an excuse to not listen to their songs at least once, especially if you're after W/W rep that Taylor Swift literally can't give you because she's Straight.
It's actually so simple in fact to find a song about kissing girls as a girl because there's a fucking song titled "I KISSED A GIRL" By LADY GAGA!!!!!
I Kissed A Girl is by Katy Perry
“I Kissed a Girl” was by Jill Sobule, who sadly died a few days ago (May 1, 2025). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jill_Sobule
Jill Sobule - Wikipedia
The Katy Perry version is a cover.
I can't believe I'm still doing this on this post but it's not a cover, they're completely different songs with the same names.
this is the Sobule song
and this is the Perry song
Me every time I see more bullshit added to poor OPs post:
you have a disgusting storytelling addiction
It’s true. It goes back a long way, too. It all started when…

bonus:
@vague-magnus-archives even though it's not that vague
cruelty is so easy. youre not special for choosing it
"The trouble is that we have a bad habit, encouraged by pedants and sophisticates, of considering happiness as something rather stupid. Only pain is intellectual, only evil interesting. This is the treason of the artist; a refusal to admit the banality of evil and the terrible boredom of pain."
-Ursula K. LeGuin, The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas
"Evil is boring. Right? I kinda believe in the banality and mundaneness of evil. Evil is just selfish impulses, which at the end of the day are really easy to understand. It’s easy to understand why people do bad things. It’s like “yeah, ok, you’re selfish and scared and cruel, I get it”. Being good is complex and beautiful and hard." - Brennan Lee Mulligan
"How monotonously alike all the great tyrants and conquerors have been: how gloriously different are the saints." --C.S. Lewis
My wife: Are you making a list of fonts?
Me: No, worse. I'm replicating the titles of video games but it's the fonts that they're in
My wife: What does that mean
Me: This
some more for you
I feel like many binary people don’t consider that there’s many nonbinary people who regardless of transition could never “pass” as their gender in a binary world. That it’s just impossible because there’s not a social place for our genders, no matter what we do or look like we will at best be seen as confusing and weird or an *insert slur here.*
And we, as said nonbinary people, don’t talk enough about how exhausting it is. That we will never be casually correctly gendered in day to day public life. That’s not something we get to have. It’s get misgendered or try to start a potentially dangerous and overall socially unacceptable dialogue about your gender and pronouns with every person who *might* address you (impossible). And we don’t talk about it for specific reasons. The reasons is exorsexism
just learned americans have different standard paper sizes than everyone else. what do you MEAN you don’t have A4 as the standard. what do you mean your standard paper size isn’t even the same size as an A4. apparently it’s like. ’letter’ and ’legal’ and whatever else. help!!!
this is so scary
That has to be false. That's misinformation hold on
holy fucking shit

so i started with doing requests from the last scales post and then became woefully carried away
MULTIATTACK SNAPSHOT: attack on @crowssante!!
I am in LOVE with this beautiful woman's hair. the appearance of fire is so effective in this attack only because I had the artist's original character as reference, because never before this point would I have thought of a transition from black straight to orange with bright yellow in the center for a glowing effect-
that sentence is way too long lmao. also: tattoos! such a cool and underrated design element :>
have a blast in the next 24 hours!!
