i think the original percy jackson movies had better costume design... this is coming from someone who can't stand the movies (cast was great and pretty much the best part of the series, the storytelling deviated very liberally from the source text but that's a whole other topic). like look at the armor:

to be honest, as a fan of greek mythology i'm surprised i haven't gotten around to reading a full original translation – i've read works based around it (Trojan Women, Ransom, i started and had to stop another when life got busy a few months back) and various abridged editions when i was much younger but not the actual Iliad/Odyssey itself. so i'm just looking for any excuse to start really :>

so instead of watching this adaptation, i'll be checking out some translations of the odyssey from my local library once i clear my current reads. a cursory search recommends Robert Fagles and Emily Wilson – Fagles seems to be more poetic, while Wilson is more accessible and meant to be read aloud in iambic pentameter for the best experience.

1 . how to be a human being by glass animals. my crush introduced me to it in 11th grade and it has stayed in my bones since.

2. one-x by three days grace. it was one of the only cd's i ever let my dad play in the car and a lot of it is still on my angry at the world playlist.

3. the fox and the bird by ok goodnight. just a beautiful story, and i love the various styles of music it flows through. i love casey lee william's thru her work on rwby so i of course went to see her band when they were in town. the music didnt click until i heard her talk about the concept and story and then perform it live, still gives me chills

4. the human condition by jon bellion. i would have the cd and probably sparingly play it, but this album was too quintessential to survival in 2018

5. dirty computer by janelle monae. its just so good, i love the story and the music video/movie was so good and every time i listen to it i feel like i think about it differently. plus a good few catchy upbeat songs for when i feel like singing

6. rainbow by kesha. good mix of sing along pop fun stuff and deep in the feels

7. bothered / unbothered by jer. saw him in concert, ABSOLUTELY phenomenal performance. im fake and havent had a dedicated listen to this album but he played mostly off it and i enjoyed every song

honorable mention: hayley kiyoko's expectations, and the ep's this side of paradise and citrine. because its lesbian jesus and again, its just so good. but didnt make the list because the other albums had more tracks i would listen to on repeat

i know huntr/x are idols but guitarist!rumi... i have other hcs but TLDR i think she's a serious guitarist. i imagine rumi would make the modifications herself and it would become wildly popular (see: the jennie effect) to the point fender makes it official

(i can dream... irl i'd say it's a toss up between rumi's personal choice of brand and local vs international. like whether the sponsorship would go to fender, which is obviously renowned and internationally recognised, or a sk company like cort (lesser known outside guitar circles in my experience) instead)
