this is a older design.. right now I headcanon that Scott wasn't a merman in green, and instead the ocean had slowly been corrupting him into one so atp when he's red, he's a merman.

I’ve seen some theories about ghostie recognising drift from her family dagger, and I want to play it out a bit further.

essentially for ghostie I imagine it would make her a tad insecure, she seems very attached to her status and finding out that not only has aj moved on, but she’s moved on with someone who outranks her significantly might cause some interesting character reactions. ‘the third-born child of a lord could not possibly compete with a princess’ kinda deal.

I also think it would be interesting if she could out that aj doesn’t really know, aj knows drifts family is well off, and I imagine has an inkling of her status, but with no real confirmation from drift or anyone else. I think ghostie would struggle with whether to tell aj or not, but I have no idea the route she’d go.

Osteon: I would display my magic but, it would hurt. So, I won't.

Scott (overlapping): Ah- Scott: I can tank a hit or two.

Osteon: Uh- You... wouldn't want to. From me.

Scott: *turns to look upstairs and back* Weirdly enough I actually- Okay, I know this is going to sound crazy... *nods* I do want you to hit me with it.

Osteon (hesitant): ...Okay. Um. Let me...

*Scott steps back from the ritual circle pedestal. Osteon walks around the pedestal towards him.*

Scott: I promise I'll be fine.

Osteon: Are you sure?

Scott: *nods* Yes.

Osteon: This will hurt for a long time.

*Osteon activates his skill. There's soul fire flame particles, dark green particles, and the glowing outline of a wither rose.*

Scott: I'm sure.

*Osteon hits Scott. There is a small explosion of soul fire flame, soul, and smoke particles.*

*Scott has the withering effect for two ticks and takes half a heart of damage.*

Scott: Okay.

Osteon: Huh. That didn't last too long.

Scott: No, I- I think the cold tends to help, but- Em, okay. *turns to look upstairs and back* Is that all you can do?

Osteon: No.

Scott: Oh?

Osteon: That was the least of my abilities.

Scott: Oh.

Osteon: You don't want the other abilities, they will kill you.

Scott: *looks at a candle and back* See, I thought that. But I also just today learnt something new I could do... that stops most things hurting me at least.

Osteon: What is it?

Scott: *looks at the ground and back* Um, it activates easier when I'm in danger which is why I was asking to- to see how much-

Osteon: *interrupts* I see... I see. I- I'm afraid you'll have to ask someone else to put you in danger because I'd- rather not have the blood of a student on my hands.

Scott: That's fair. I'm not as-

Osteon: *interrupts* I would rather not risk the life of a dragon rider.

Scott: That's fair. I'm not as fragile as some of the other people here but, I understand.

Osteon: I believe that.

Scott: Maybe some time we'll duel.

Osteon: Perhaps.

Scott: Well, I will let you get back to your smithing duties. Uh- but, it was nice to meet you.

Osteon: Yeah. Thank you for the ice-cream.

Scott: You're welcome. Enjoy. *walks backwards* Let me know what flavor it ends up being, it changes per person.

Osteon: I see.

Scott: *Walking upstairs* Enjoy!

*Scott leaves the forge and is walking around the academy.*

Scott: Huh. *walking* They're... really cool? Scott: I know I- Knowing my luck they'll be some evil bandit infiltrator you know? But... Scott: *walking across chains* I'm just- I'm so interested in what else they can do. I thought the wither touch thing was gonna do more than it did.

Also Scott you’re meant to be the responsible one WHY ARE YOU ASKING WITHER MAN TO HIT YOU!!!!!!?????? Wth man. Also the interest in the wither stuff… why? Like I get withering is a fun little thing, but god don’t get yourself killed king.
