equating womanhood to submissiveness is so laughable to me. My first moment of conceptualization of gender was seeing my mom's fury, courage, and fearlessness in protecting me. The worst thing you can do when backpacking is get between a mother bear and her cubs. There is no feminine urge to get abused or being a sweetiepie or whatever the fuck the stockholm syndrome princesses over at Tiktok are posting about
Don't hide this in the tags queen
“The thing in goddesses is that they are women of power. They are not all these fluffy Barbie images. The only other images we get in pop culture are fluffs, airheads, and morons. .. having goddesses that do stuff, that take care of themselves is enormously important. And they do exist in mythology and thank scholars that they’re coming out so that we as women do have an archetype. It is a feminine energy to pick up the frying pan and bash somebody in the head who is trying to get in your house. It’s not a feminine archetype to stand in the corner and go, "Eek, eek, I’m a helpless idiot.” Women do not actually come from a brain-freeze as we would be led to believe from watching Barbie dolls." -Shell, interviewee for Kristy S. Coleman’s book, Re-riting Woman: Dianic Wicca and the Feminine Divine (2009) (p. 82)
I hate to say this, but we cannot reclaim femininity. The right wingers who say “submitting to a husband is feminine energy” and the left wingers who say “I like acting out porn about female submissiveness therefore I am a woman despite my dick and balls” are one and the same. Sorry
Bioessentialism for dummies
Literal fucking demons
can someone just tell me who this is, like use an actual name i have no idea what the fuck is going on and i can’t pretend i do anymore
her name is hannah hays. she’s a porn star who has brain damage from a bad car crash she was in during her teenage years and she’s currently being taken advantage of by porn directors and her “”””””manager”””””. she has a like, emotional support lizard that she takes on set and they hold it hostage to get her to do certain things. she’s fairly active on twitter and occasionally posts things that shed light on her mistreatment but it’s usually deleted very quickly.
yeah i watched an interview with her and when she mentioned the car crash she immediately started tearing up and clearly has PTSD like plain as day and that alone tells me that she’s not emotionally capable of coping with how traumatizing porn is and people still want to pull this shit bc they cant comprehend the fact that women in porn are taken advantage of.
apparently showing concern over a mentally disabled woman being exploited = ableist
Here’s some more from Hannah, if you didn’t feel heartbroken enough already.
Here’s some more of how men will speak of mentally ill women in the porn industry.
can we please address this horrific part too???
the porn industry and the sick men who fuel it are despicable.
a traumatised and mentally incapacitated child desperate for money to support her family who didn’t even know what porn was and you commodified the sexualisation of the power disparity between her and any male paid to sexually abuse her on camera then laughed at her. this surpasses unforgivable. how dare anyone defend this.
The people defending this are evil. If you defend this exploitation you are an evil person. I’m no longer interested in mincing words. You’re a bad, morally bankrupt person if you defend this.
Imagine being so brainwashed by propaganda that you think an incapacitated girl OF 19 YEARS is making porn on totally free will. Don’t you know how totally capable women are COERCED every day because of money to do this, imagine a girls who’s clearly vulnerable being exploited.
Having agency on you own life and understanding the implications an action will have in the future and in your health is not the same, and i hardly doubt someone has even explained to this girl (a teen. you can say whatever about age of consent, but SHE IS STILL A TEEN) or even cares how she will deal with this some day. More so when she is already at risk because the system is ableist and is very hard for people with brain damage to insert back in society or to even find a job that allows them to support themselves safely.
My fucking god i hope anyone who think this is somehow okay in the name of “nOt tO bE AbLeIsT” gets hit by a fucking truck. They are so fucking in love with the word “ableist” and to look inclusive, they are incapable of just stop and use their brain and think that there are situations and conditions that in fact keep you to make fully understanding decisions. They wash their mouths with the world “inclusion” while totally disregarding the fact that inclusion is not assuming everyone can do anything, but rather WE AS A SOCIETY SHOULD ADAPT SO EVERYONE HAS ACCESS TO SAFE DEVELOPMENT.
My overly feminist and annoying hot take is that I think societies obsession with anorexia and "thinness" is inherently related to pedophillia. This isn't the normal idea of thinness is related to an affinity for children, I'm talking the entire goal of anorexia in mainstream ED culture is just pure pedo shit. I can really only talk about my experience with anorexia but it's so common in online and in person spaces to want to look like a child. I would measure my waist against my younger sister who was seven when I started. There's a whole culture of comparing yourself to anime lolis, posting pictures of children's legs to try and showcase the desirable thigh gap... I would avoid talking to my own sister, whom I love more than anything in the world, because I hated seeing her be thinner than me so much. This is such a niche experience but I refused to watch Demon Slayer even though my best friend was obsessed with it because I was so jealous of Nezuko's body. The 12 year old child. I know so many girls whose body goal was just "me in third grade" or worse, they started in the third grade. I had this girl I genuinely looked up to because of her weight who started having an ED in the the first grade and was 70 pounds at 11 years old. Another random experience is that I didn't watch wreck it ralph for a few years, despite genuinely liking the movie, because watching Vanelope van Sweetch be skinny because she was a child in a world full of food I wanted to eat was so triggering for me. Everything is pedophillia when you're goal is to be a child.
You’re right. Anorexia can cause delayed periods or no periods at all, less or no body hair, smaller boobs, less muscle, etc. There are only two reasons to promote it, attraction to prepubescent girls and/or wanting women too weak to fight and protest.
As a former desperate anorexic, I relate to everything. All I did was destroy and deny myself to be (and be seen) as vulnerable as a child. The perfect victim.
I’m glad radical feminism helped me escape that hell (I sure am a bigger threat to the system now, hehe).

reddit having a normal one about ummm. the uk banning an act that’s been observed to cause brain damage from being shown in porn
#''stay out of our bedrooms'' is so funny like what part of your bedroom is contained in porn studios
this is so true, they try to frame it as some violation of their private life, as if everyone is watching their own homemade sex tapes instead of watching videos commercially produced by companies with paid actors, cameramen, editors, advertisers, etc. if porn is so legitimate, they should have no problem with it being regulated like any other industry.
if porn is so legitimate, they should have no problem with it being regulated like any other industry.
“Pornography is to sex as McDonald’s is to food. Often in America, when you give a talk like this, they accuse you of being anti-sex. Have you heard that term? ‘If you’re against pornography, you’re against sex.’ So let me ask you a question: if I had come here today to talk about the fast food industry, to talk about how it causes obesity, how it destroys the environment, would anyone accuse me of being anti-eating? You would all understand that I was [against] the industry. So why, when I criticize pornography, do I suddenly become anti-sex, as if pornography is sex?”
— Gail Dines, How Porn Creates the John: Porn, Trafficking, and the Social Construction of Masculinity
By the way, the fact that so many men are unable to conceptualise sex without the brutalisation of women is the very reason why I don’t want to have sex with them.
why do so many males sincerely believe not getting laid is a human rights violation
Because it's the one area of their lives where women have some degree of power over them. They don't face discrimination for being male in employment, housing, socially, or any other aspect of their lives. The scenario women are most likely able to deny men something they want is with sex.
the funny thing about the stereotype of a predatory lesbian is that it's quite literally the opposite. the number of times i've had women switch up and suddenly become flirtatious and tactile the moment they learned i was a lesbian is more than i can count, and i don't think that's a coincidence. there's a performance of desirability here, a great comfort in the knowledge that, although they can feel desirable through you, since any reciprocity on your part would automatically paint you as the troublemaker, they do not have to feel unsafe/out of control with you the way they might with a man, so they can act however they want, be as active as they want and feel as powerful as they'd like, without worrying about consequences. that's the more common dynamic. not the reverse.
it's an unpleasant thing to experience but an interesting one to think about, because you can tell through those interactions that lesbians to them are both not women (and therefore masculinity-adjacent enough to get an ego boost from flirting with in a way that doesn't shatter their confidence in their heterosexuality) and undeniably women (and therefore not as dangerous or threatening as men). they get to put the lesbian they are flirting with into the role of a man (by projecting perceived sexual aggressiveness onto them), while actually taking on the role of the man (the initiator, the invasive and impolite one) themselves. it's escapism through the degradation of the lesser other.
i don’t think women are to blame for males’ sexual deviances, but i’m glad this is still hitting mainstream discourse nonetheless

Artist Statement:
“This post might cost me some followers but I finally need to speak out about my experience. For the past few years I identified as a transgender man. Until I realised that my transition was nothing else than a coping mechanism and I understood that, to me, identifying with gender means to identify with toxic stereotypes. Meanwhile, I neither identify as a woman, nor as a man, nor as any other gender. I am biologically female and that is all I need in order to be a woman.
Detransition doesn’t mean that I simply live as a cis woman again or that I‘ve never been trans. It means that I choose to deal with my gender dysphoria in a different way and that I am now healing from the negative experiences that I made as a woman in our society.
I respect trans people’s gender identity, their pronouns, and I respect that there are people who have a different definition of what it means to be a woman or man. And I believe that we don’t have to hate each other just for having a different opinion. I know by first hand how hard it is to be trans but the discrimination I faced back then was nothing compared to the hatred and loss of friends that I experienced after coming out as detrans.
This being said, I am done explaining myself and I am sick of feeling like my opinions are something I need to hide.”

the whole point of girls doing the not like other girls thing is basically them believing that the girls around them lack an interior life. they were raised on depictions of women as shallow caricatures and they recognize themselves to be actual people with thoughts and feelings, but instead of drawing the conclusion that these depictions of women are incorrect, they draw the conclusion that those depictions of women are correct and that must mean they're smarter and have more substance than the "average" woman. to exit the not like other girls phase means recognizing that all real life women have the same level of interiority as you do, and that depictions of women in the media as consistently empty headed and frivolous are misogynistic stereotypes not grounded in reality.
i say all this to say that to exit a not like other girls phase does not necessitate taking an interest in "traditionally feminine" ways of dress and makeup, nor does it mean never saying anything negative about the beauty industry
