was about to make a nostalgia post about the farmer's market i went to as a kid but then i looked it up and lowkey the memory is so niche that it would dox me

we can all agree that craft markets are shit right. we're just a little afraid to say it out loud because it's one of the only theoretically fun and ethical things to do these days and without that delusion things get bleak

i watched my friend be charged $10 for a single sugar cookie at a craft market a couple weeks ago. they were cute and small with no price sign and she chose one without asking the price and the woman charged her $10 and my friend is such a nice person she paid it anyways. literally i hope that woman dies tomorrow

last week one of my coworkers expressed that it was inappropriate for the manitoban premier to say we should be bury child porn users under prisons and i very confidently said yes im allowed to say that but a premier shouldn't and she gave me the 👁️👁️ look that means that is not at all what she meant. so i shall be keeping my political opinions to myself at work i think, even though my coworkers overall are nice progressive people

ill say it now so i can say i told you so in 20 years. i think creating indigenous protected areas is a very very very very very bad idea. indigenous communities are not interested in conservation or in acting in good faith towards non indigenous people. taking lands that are open to everyone and used by everyone, including indigenous people, and regulating them as indigenous protected areas is an incredibly stupid and undemocratic idea. and since indigenous people already have special harvesting rights, including in provincial parks, there is zero case for conservation as a motive. formalized management relationships with parks and the forestry industry is a much better approach
