They acted in a way in which any reasonable person would expect there to be a significant chance she would die as a result. Even if they didn’t expect that outcome or had legitimate reasons for their actions it would be negligent homicide or manslaughter. 

The fact that it’s unreasonable to say it wasn’t the expected/intended outcome would make it second degree murder.

In the wake of the untimely death of perennial City Council candidate and gadfly Jennifer Gale, public sympathy with her homelessness – she died, of yet unconfirmed causes, while sleeping outside Wednesday night, Dec. 18 – has led to misleading speculation about the circumstances of her death.

A Burnt Orange Report blog posting by Karl-Thomas Musselman quoted an email from Marti Bier (aide to City Council Member Randi Shade) describing Gale as a “trans[gender] woman living in a transphobic society,” and therefore with “nowhere … to go to protect herself from the cold [last] night.”

Bier’s sympathetic rumor had become conventional wisdom by Thursday’s Council meeting, and a subsequent press release by Equality Texas was headlined in part, “Her death can be directly attributed to lack of shelters accepting of transgender homeless.”

In fact, a somewhat embarrassed Bier says now, that’s not true. She says she had confused a story she’d heard about another transgendered woman’s bad experience at a local shelter with Gale, and that she has since contacted both the Salvation Army and the Austin Resource Center for the Homeless, and learned that both shelters do what they can to accommodate all homeless people, regardless of gender status although they do have to adjust accommodations to particular circumstances. “I think I was trying to call attention to the problem of trans women accessing services,” Bier said.

Although we’re still inquiring, there is in fact currently no evidence that Gale was ever refused shelter, or indeed that she had ever requested it.

The family in this story were going to sleep in their car in 18F weather, however a group of police officers rescued them and took them to a hotel. The hotel comped the room and the cops bought them fresh food so they could have healthy meals. Eventually the Salvation Army did take the family in but the teenaged son had a mental breakdown because he thought it was his fault that the SA wouldn’t take them and he had to go to a mental facility for treatment.

The dude got arrested once before this for using a painter’s extension rod to point the stoplight cameras into the sky instead of cutting the wires. He didn’t cut the wires until AFTER he got out after being arrested the first time–which he did after posting facebook videos that prove that the stoplights are intentionally rigged to trick drivers into citations–the yellow lights at intersections with cameras only last THREE SECONDS, as opposed to the five seconds they last at other stoplights without cameras in the same county.

When he cut the camera cords, he reported his deeds to the news -himself,- and then politicians pressured the local police force into arresting him. The local police and sheriff deputies actually SUPPORT him for his actions because the lights have been killing innocent people! During his most recent arrest, one of the Sheriff’s Deputies actually -offered to bail him out-. When he got home again after these incidents, there was a surveillance camera planted at his house BY THE GOVERNMENT to watch him! His reaction to being surveilled? He painted over the camera in America’s flat out fucking ballsiest “fuck you” to the gubmint I’ve ever heard of. And it gets EVEN CRAZIER. After painting over the camera, suddenly this guy–his name is Stephen Ruth by the way–started GETTING ATTEMPTS ON HIS LIFE. He reports that a car intentionally tried to hit him in a head-on collision, and after talking about the car to his neighbors, they confirmed that the car in question (Or at least, one that was visibly identical, its occupants included) had been staking out his house! Somebody was legitimately trying to MURDER HIM over his discovery and his actions!

First of all cheering on suicide itself is bad, regardless of what someone did or didnt do. But youre doing so based on mere accusations that were not proven.

Men have killed themselves off of false accusations for years. Especially when it is something they see as ruining their lives.

Their hypocrisy knows no bounds.

It was an AU where Bruce died, but his parents survived, and they handled their traumas differently. The father became Batman. The mother became The Joker. She was literally driven insane because someone murdered her child. The father took to vigilante justice to keep this from happened to others.

This fucking “she went insane bc people told her to smile” undermines that fact. She’s the only Joker, imo, that is redeemable. It was a concept idea that did well with its take. None of the other Jokers are redeemable, nor will they ever be. That is why we like them. The reason I, personally, like the AU is because it took two people who suffered the same exact thing, and showed how differently they dealt with it.

I prefer a traumatized couple coping in their different ways over the death of their child over “someone told me to smile so I went insane and killed them”.
