I understand that you’re having a rough time my dude, I really do. But just because I’ve been there, it does not make me qualified to safely advise a total stranger on such struggles.

I’ve said this plenty of times in plenty of posts on plenty of different socials, but I am just a dude who makes things on the internet. I draw, I reblog memes, and I happen to be trans. But the fact that I exist as a trans person does not automatically mean that I am open to offering counselling / life advice on trans issues. Nor does it mean I am qualified to do give such advice in the first place.

This is absolutely no harm no foul against you at all anon, you’re not in trouble here, and I very much hope you can find the help and advice you need in a space that is actually dedicated to providing such help and advice. (There are plenty of blogs and even entire other websites out there that are purpose-built for exactly that!)

However, I do wanna use this moment to put a gentle, but rather loud reminder out here as a general rule of thumb:

Please don’t assume that the inbox of every trans individual online is by default a space that is open for you to seek advice for your own personal struggles with gender dysphoria, air out your own personal grief, or seek help for your own serious, real-life situations, completely unprompted.
