Welcome to the first ever HellFlare Exchange of 2026!

An exchange of fanwork between those interested in seeing more of Dion Lesage and Clive Rosfield in either a platonic or romantic relationship. Fanfiction and fanart are accepted.

As this is a gift exchange, a completed work is expected by the end of the due date. If you need to bow out, that’s fine - just make sure to let me know. For fanfiction, at least 1000+ words is recommended. And for fanart, one finished art piece is the aim. You will have two months to work on your assigned giftee’s request and can submit directly to the AO3 collection at any time before the deadline. For posting on tumblr or elsewhere, please wait until after the deadline.

okay this has actually led me down the rabbit hole of the beanie baby environmental impact, and apparently the big problem is that they used to be stuffed with PVC pellets. the science in all that is REALLY over my head, but from what i can tell from wikipedia and some googling around, that's actually a suuuper nasty plastic to have your little kid potentially gnawing on. like, "may release noxious chemicals and give them lifelong respiration problems" nasty.

These companies are convincing people to buy as much useless, plastic crap as possible, crap that can't be reused (because it isn't useful in the first place) and won't be recycled (not that recycling them would even do much).

Bc so many ppl focus on the idea of telling A Trusted Adult, but even a well-meaning individual can fuck up and let abuse fall through the cracks or not know what to do

Whereas if a child tells LOADS of adults AND other kids, there's far less opportunity for an abuser to do damage control

Consistently telling their story and spreading it around disempowers the abuser to control and coerce the flow of information, or to utilise gaps and weaknesses in systems of reporting or welfare to isolate the child

Dan is many things. A violent sociopath. A narcissist. A man with good taste in home decor and jazz music. He is not, however, a good parent.

Danny has gotten himself in trouble and is now in a de-aged state. Jazz is currently out of picture and they still need her back. Clockwork says he's working on it but Jazz isn't one to stop a mission when she is halfway there.

Dan doesn't really care though. He is not dealing with a baby. The kid was awful as a teen as is but as a baby he is sickening. He was now a milk sucking, funny smelling, loud mouthed—infant!

But he has to watch him and take care of him. A hellish punishment. He was one diper blowout away from tossing him into a dumpster.

That's why he had to do it.

He needed the kid gone for a while so when he saw the revenant passing by he shoves the wailing thing off on him and made a run for it.

Look he had a plan. The kid is the current prince so the revenant will be compelled to take care of him. It's just how it works. The guy will do it gladly and Dan can get the kid when this mess blows over.

That's what he thought at least unfortunately Dan is also under the influence to take care of the kid. So when he finally gets some time to himself his brain starts going nuts.

Logically Dan knows what happened but his instincts is currently baby brained.

Clark doesn’t get to fly in the cornfields of smallville and practice lifting tractors. He’s not even allowed to talk to his parents about being “adopted” unless they bring it up first. They’re trying to protect him, especially when his papers start manifesting and his body changes and all that does is create questions. So many questions, including Clark’s own. Where did I come from? Why won’t you talk about it? Why do I feel so different from everyone else?

And then that Clark Kent still moves on and becomes Superman, even if it’s a little delayed or uncertain. He finds his path away from Smallville, he starts saving people. He starts learning about Krypton, he starts chasing down clues to who he is.

How does he come back to his parents, after that? How does the “Ma, I’m Superman” conversation happen? Does Clark snap one day when Pa has a heart attack and flies him to the nearest hospital, even though his Ma is begging him not to, because they might be found out?
