I love George but he is a rich white man who very much will try and sell anything. Literally nothing about formula 1 is authentic... Like everything is a brand deal/sponsorship. I think ppl who think George is above genuine criticism when it comes to his genuine shitty pr moves and brand deals are kinda dumb. Like cmon he Def does come off as a prick sometimes and yknow what that's fine ( well kinda but not really - it's relative)!! Hes fucking human. Hes going to have absolute pr disasters at times! Like he's not above the criticism!. Like idk I've kinda noticed ppl have been almost white knighting him/turning him to almost a white saviour trying to make him seem kinda morally superior. And I'm not trying to say George is a bad person BUT.... It's formula 1. The moral ethicalness of male athletes is relative. Like we are really not going to play the "my super duper rich fav white guy is morally better than Ur fav super rich white guy". Like thinking about that article where he genuinely came off as a ignorant tosser/prat just makes me like cringe. Like dude do U hear yourselfff

Exactly. I think the problem is "PR" has been used against George as a catch all reason why people don't like him and so it's easy as a fan to fall in to the trap of defending him as not being that. Except he IS very PR conscious (on a par with Charles I would say), and most of the people saying he's "too PR" ACTUALLY mean he's too "inauthentic", they've just conflated the two ideas.

I dud put in the tags that I suspect the algorithm has been slightly skewed by who has looked at it, but the specificity of the targeted ads make sense when it's something you've searched and it goes through your ip history.

Whilst the algorithm can be powerful, especially with AI, you're essentially suggesting it tracked down an untagged and undisclosed item in a post, and then crossmatched that to the correct seller who just happened to have a locked and loaded advert for the same product that they could push to the masses as promotion and Meta did that at no extra cost to the brand entirely out of the goodness of their own heart?

Or do you think Graff knew full well that's their ring (or at the very least a very close dupe), knew there was a marketing opportunity, organised an ad and paid Meta to push it to a specific audience as cross promotion?

I feel like I read this on reddit? But someone in Mercedes marketing clearly didn't.

Honestly it just seems a weird collection idea, even moreso that the omegaverse one in Japan. Mercedes has no connection to cycling, nor Italy so we're getting an entire Giro d'Italia range based of the fact one of their drivers is Italian. But we never got UK themed merch when BOTH their drivers were Brits? Just very odd to go all in on that.
